D-topia is a pleasantly laid-back puzzle game that examines the idea of an AI-made utopia in thought-provoking ways. There are a couple of small things that could be smoothed out, but the unique vibe and enjoyable puzzle-solving are enough to make it worth your time. If you’re looking for a thoughtful but relaxing smaller title to spend some time with this summer, D-topia could certainly be the perfect pick.

D-topia is an experience with great ideas. The game presents a reflective world, with charismatic characters who create intriguing and exciting relationships throughout the campaign. However, it fails to evolve many of its concepts beyond the initial level, ending up as a product that wastes some of its own potential.

'D-TOPIA' is an indie adventure game that follows the story of a Facilitator, a facility administrator living in a distant future utopia operated entirely by AI. Depending on the player's choices, the paradise they oversee can either remain a 'Disigned utopia' or descend into a 'dystopia'. While the game explores deeply philosophical themes, its deliberately slow-paced progression may prove divisive among players.

D-topia is an intriguing puzzle game that cleverly plays with the line between utopia and dystopia. From the very beginning, the world feels uncomfortably perfect, and the AI theme raises interesting dilemmas surrounding control, security, and freedom of choice.

Overall, D-topia has been a refreshing and enjoyable experience. The puzzle difficulty is pitched well for the most part, erring on the easier side to keep things flowing, and interacting with the people of D-topia is rewarding as we get to know and help them. Being able to use items we purchased in any way would have been nice, but it’s a small blemish on what was otherwise a well paced take on AI, and the future of humanity alongside it.

This was a short but sweet game about finding your place in the world, pushing boundaries, and making sure people around you felt comfortable being who they are and, most importantly, happy.
