Garfield - Escape from Monday is a passable 3D platformer dragged down by its relentless self-deprecating humor and sluggish platforming.
That being said, Escape From Monday clearly does enough right, as I went right back to find every lasagne, complete every time trial, and go for 100 percent.
Garfield - Escape From Monday brings the sarcastic orange cat from the comic strips into the world of video games, crafting a 3D platformer that's enjoyable to play, but feels shockingly familiar.
It’s not going to win any awards and really doesn’t bring anything new or fresh to the table.
If you enjoy the Garfield animated TV show or this Lasagna-loving feline's forays into videogames, then Escape From Monday should be a breezy and entertaining platforming pleasure. Yes, Escape From Monday does crib from other established platformers, and it is short and overly simple with controls that can be a tad irksome at times, but with the humour on display and a bonkers premise, Escape From Monday avoids a cat-astrophe and you'll be suitably paw-leased with this one.
Turn your mind off, run around, win the game with little challenge: you deserve a victory lap, life is tough enough. I mean I kept playing and enjoyed myself.
Garfield: Escape from Monday is a solid 3D platformer and one of the better outings for the titular fat feline, held back slightly by a lack of overall difficulty that may make you feel like a lazed cat.
Garfield: Escape from Monday from developer OSome Studio is a good game that meets the standards of a 3D platforming experience. While it could have used a bit more enemy presence, the controls, levels, and overall game are still fun and make good use of the IP.
Garfield: Escape from Monday is in many regards a great game. The level design is phenomenal, the controls are smooth, and the game gives the player a lot of freedom. However, it stumbles on too many small obstacles to be recommendable to anyone not already into Garfield. The worst part is that, instead of spreading out the level designs, it sticks with one gimmick for ten levels straight. Lasagna is made of lasagna plates, bechamel sauce, and bolognese. This doesn't mean serving lasagna plates as a starter, bechamel sauce as the main course, and bolognese as dessert.
Garfield: Escape from Monday ultimately feels like a big missed opportunity for the lovable orange feline. The foundations of an great 3D platformer are there. Still, the game never does enough with them, with meaningless collectables, underdeveloped power-ups and presentation issues that distract from its otherwise tight platforming even in its best segments. At its lower price point, Garfield’s surprisingly enjoyable moveset still offers some fun, but after almost two decades away from 3D platforming, Escape from Monday ultimately feels more like a missed opportunity than the comeback it could have been.
Garfield - Escape from Monday is the definition of a good, fun and immersive cartoon-inspired 3D platformer game.

Garfield - Escape From Monday feels like a throwback to the PS3 era of 3D platformers and its lighthearted good times will make you grin as you pounce around even if it's one of the easiest games you'll ever play. 🐈
Garfield - Escape from Monday marks the return of the orange cat to the world of 3D platformers with a pleasant, light title. The laziest feline in the world finds himself exploring a dreamlike world full of enemies, in a culinary nightmare where vegetables take over. A simple production, whose winning cards are its genuineness and its love for the character created by Jim Davis. It will not be the platformer of the year or a challenge for the most experienced players, let us be clear. Still, OSome Studio shows once again an excellent feeling for famous franchises in search of video game authors.

Garfield: Escape from Monday brings classic gaming into a new era! With enjoyable platforming, imaginative levels, and plenty of funny Garfield one-liners, the game is packed with nostalgia. Although some camera movement can feel stiff and certain challenges may be difficult for younger players, it is still an entertaining experience.
Just like the source material, Garfield: Escape From Monday is bland and has run its course.
Garfield: Escape from Monday should not be this good. The lasagna collectibles do nothing and the story drags, but none of it dims the core loop of joyful, well-tuned platforming through three riotously colourful worlds. If you love collectathons, or you’ve got a Switch-owning kid in the house, this is a fantastic surprise.
“Garfield: Escape From Monday” is a fairly solid and enjoyable 3D platformer that knows exactly who its target audience is.

Garfield – Escape from Monday is a decent entry-level platformer. It is easy to pick up on, easy to play through, and doesn’t get too challenging. For the newer gamer or younger crowd, it is suitable. However for those that play all variety of games at various difficulty levels, it can feel a bit underwhelming. It still has great visuals with a comic charm and fun to play. I’m giving the game the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
Garfield: Escape From Monday is undoubtedly a great platform-adventure title. The large number of levels and secrets to discover makes it a solid recommendation for younger audiences. However, its issues are too significant to ignore, and the problem regarding console health warrants attention.
