Garfield - Escape From Monday feels like a throwback to the PS3 era of 3D platformers and its lighthearted good times will make you grin as you pounce around even if it's one of the easiest games you'll ever play. đ
Garfield: Escape from Monday is a title aimed at a very young audience, yet it is a shame that the execution is so simplistic. The character's charm and the attractive cel-shaded visuals aren't enough to mask the glaring flaws of a platformer that feels far too flat and is plagued by numerous technical issues. While it might entertain young children or die-hard fans of the lasagna-loving cat, it fails to win over anyone looking for a well-structured, satisfying adventure.

Garfield Escape From Monday is a safe, easy-to-play title built for quick achievements and brain-off gaming sessions, making it a decent pick if you want low-effort platforming despite its basic design and annoying food pop-ins. Itâs a game younger gamers will appreciate, and it is a solid platformer; itâs just not pushing the needle forward.
Garfield â Escape From Monday isnât going to blow adults away. Although it is fun, colourful, and entertaining, it is repetitive, easy, and the soundbites are ridiculously annoying. However, it is enjoyable for kids. The stage design, limited violence, and easy to master action are perfect for younger gamers. Accordingly, itâs a family-friendly affair, and I recommend grabbing a copy from the Xbox Store!
If youâre fond of 3D platformers, youâll likely find a lot to whet your appetite here, as OSome Studio has done a terrific job with the game, regardless of if youâre a fan of the franchise.
I have played countless, much better platformers, but I have also played a crapton of vastly worse platformers. I have also played a lot of much worse Garfield games over the years. Perhaps the single most shocking aspect about Garfield: Escape from Monday is how effortlessly decent and trouble-free it is. It doesnât reinvent the wheel, it isnât a particularly memorable platforming experience, but there isnât anything inherently wrong with it: you can play it without a care in the world, can complete it without too much trouble, and wonât ever find any big issue youâd call a dealbreaker.
