Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a game that is sure to make faithful fans of the series happy and bring in new fans too. It's a unique 2D platforming puzzle adventure that the community needed a good reminder that it exists. Although the controls can get a little out of hand even after playing for a while, the story and gameplay give the game a unique charm that I haven't seen in most platforming games for a long time. Abe and the Mudokons are some wacky characters that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

From the beautiful (and ugly) ambience of your surroundings, to the mutinous and sad mutterings of the Mudokons and the cacophony of murder on every screen, New ‘N’ Tasty is the perfect addition to your gaming library.

It is a lovely 2.5D puzzle-platformer where focusing on your surroundings is the highest priority. If you can forgive a few missteps and love to experiment, you will no regrets playing this one to completion.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a competent port of a fun, creative and original game which despite its almost 20 years of age, still holds on today. There are occasional bugs which should be corrected but the experience is overall marvelous and a very good example of how to blend a 2D platformer with puzzle-solving challenges.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty has had a protracted journey to the Wii U, and remnants of that legacy can be found here. Overall, however, we have an attractive, beautifully designed and clever platformer on the eShop, which is also fairly unique on the store. Sometimes a wait is worthwhile, and this one's odyssey to reach Nintendo hardware was worth the effort.

Sadly absent on Nintendo's systems since Game Boy's Oddworld Adventures in 1998, Abe's heroics look slick as ever as he makes a welcome return in Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty. Porting niggles threaten to detract, but this sensational reboot deserves to be relived.

All things considered, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a fine addition to the Wii U eShop lineup. It's one of the more polished titles on the service, and has a good length and value to it. It's a bit of a shame that after the long wait the GamePad is used simply as Off-TV and the framerate issues can be noticeable at times, but if you are primarily a Wii U owner, this is game worth owning.

Chances are, if you're aware of Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty!, your mind has already been made up. The feel and art design of the original have been translated superbly to the new generation, and even as a diehard fan of Abe's Oddysee there's little to complain about. This is how remakes should be done.

Oddworld New 'n' Tasty tells a story of a world that contains a great amount of injustice, from the persecution of defenceless creatures to the tyranny of people who hold far too much power. It's a story that is just as relevant now as it was sixteen years ago. However, the title is also an ode to gaming from a forgotten era, when campaigns took a while to complete and violence wasn't the main objective. With a lick of HD paint and tweaks to gameplay to accommodate modern gamers, this title has found its place amidst the new generation of consoles and there is absolutely no reason why this type of game couldn't reclaim its crown. Long live Oddworld.

More often than not, remakes fail horribly. Oddworld: New 'n Tasty raises the bar for all that follow

Taken altogether, New 'n' Tasty still makes the Oddworld experience totally worth it. The game is more charming than it is frustrating; you just have to go into it knowing that it's a bit of a dungeon crawl where you have to keep track of the greater world around you rather than a straightforward platformer.

New 'n' Tasty is a perfect remake. Paying homage to the original game while still setting itself apart as a whole new game. It should really be treated more as a series reboot and a lowly remake. Fans of 2-D platformers wlll love this adventure as it adds great gameplay mechanics and a lovable protagonist to create a memorable experience for all. The game cannot be recommended to all gamers though as the difficulty of the game maybe too much for some. If you enjoy a challenge though then you will love New 'n' Tasty

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is great remake in terms of quality, remastering the original experience in a fantastic way. The original story still holds up, and while the gameplay may be a bit too hard for some newcomers, it's still rewarding, despite a few not-so-great aspects, like the sound effects.

A game that is comfortable in its own skin and endeavours to toil within its own ambitions is rare, yet that is exactly what Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty achieves. Such honesty should be applauded even if it does little to endear new fans to the fold who might be at risk of not properly adjusting to New 'n' Tasty's idiosyncrasies. Still, for those who take the time to persevere, New 'n' Tasty proves to be as delectable a treat as Abe's original Odyssey all those years ago.

Overall, the game is solid, with a few annoying quirks about it, most notably the controls. Considering that controls are the most integral part of a platformer, Oddworld takes a heavy hit against it for what would otherwise be a rather minor niggle.

New 'N' Tasty is exactly what it claims to be: a new experience still instantly familiar to anyone that played the original, and vital playing for those that didn't. Oddworld was a defining presence on the Playstation, and New 'N' Tasty will remain a defining experience on the new generation of consoles, too. It's a pleasure to see a remaster done so well.

Highly recommended for anyone who had a chance to play it when it came out 17 years ago. Even if you didn't think much of it back then, its still worth a look. For newcomers to the series should at least borrow it from a friend or look at playthroughs. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but overall this remaster has set a good example on how remakes should be done!
