Unfortunately, single-player does not hold up well on its own as it’s an empty and dry attempt to create a story from gameplay that is repetitive and uneventful.

Umbrella Corps is a sloppy competitive shooter with a score of issues that overshadow its redeeming qualities.

If it weren't for the inclusion of zombies, Umbrella Corps would be indistinguishable from almost every generic first-person shooter that gets released on Steam or for free. While zombies make it stand out just a smidgen from the competition, the gameplay is as brain-dead as they are. If you're looking for a solid, cheap shooter on PS4 or PC, there are better options, like Blacklight: Retribution. Even diehard Resident Evil fans should save their money, as I can't think of a single reason anyone should buy this.

There is no reason for you to play Umbrella Corps. There isnt if youre a shooter game fan, because there is a low number of options and contents, and the online infrastructure is unstable. There isnt even if youre a Resident Evil fan: the only association to the series is the map design, that resembles some of the places of the main chapters.

A game the can be unbalanced in terms of gameplay and not so well done terms of performance and controls, but it's fast pace and craziness and some of it's new ideas makes it worth the shot. especially for those who are a fan of the series and want to play an online game based on the places from the series, and is able to accept the major flaws, but there are better options if you want to play an online game that has nothing to do with the series.

Umbrella Corps has some good ideas going for it, but the speed of the game really dampens the enjoyment one will have with the game. If the game was slowed down and played like a traditional tactical-based cover shooter, it would have an easier time finding its audience. As it stands, you’re better off picking up Resident Evil 5 on PS4, Xbox One, or PC if you are in need of a zombie fix.

The only thing Umbrella Corps succeeds in is convincing us Umbrella is the worst and most incompetent company anyone could ever have the misfortune of working for.

Many fights in this so-called "tactical" online shooter degenerate into melee frenzies that see most players relying on a hooked weapon dubbed the "brainer"

By and large Umbrella Corps is a title that, initially, showed promise — I could definitely have gotten behind the idea of a multiplayer Resident Evil title, as the series has shown can work in the right hands, and the right context (like the excellent “The Mercenaries” mode from previous games). However, in execution Umbrella Corps feels less like a unique spin-off from Resident Evil and more like one of its many undead zombies: lifeless, indistinguishable from those around it, and just waiting to be put down for good.

Umbrella Corps is a laughably broken mess, unworthy of the iconic franchise it inhabits. The small echoes of nostalgic beauty are negated by its repetitive gameplay, awful mechanics and complete lack of worthwhile content.

A boring and broken game that fails even to offer a little bit of fan service.

Umbrella Corps is a brain-dead mess of good ideas gone wrong. It partially hides its flaws underneath a veneer of pretty graphics and promising gameplay concepts, but it can't hold up under its own weight in execution. Patches may iron out some of our grievances, but conflicting mechanics, dumb level design choices, balancing issues, technical problems, and shallow content plague this shambling title to the core, ensuring a quick burial with single-player missions that are a mere afterthought. This isn't just a bad Resident Evil game, but a disappointing multiplayer shooter; a spin-off that feels like little more than a lazy cash grab.

Dreadful from a technical, mechanical, and financial standpoint, Umbrella Corps sets a newer, lower bar for Resident Evil spinoffs. Although Operation Raccoon City met fans with lukewarm reception, Umbrella Corps leaves diehard Resident Evil supporters with no expectations at all.

Umbrella Corps is the type of game that you would expect to get for free through Steam or Playstation Plus, it's not something that you would pay $30 for. I love Resident Evil and I'm usually willing to forgive CAPCOM for making cash-in titles for the most part, but there is no way I can recommend anyone including hardcore Resident Evil collectors give this game a try. AVOID LIKE THE T-VIRUS!!

After several games that seemed to be gearing Resident Evil back to the horror genre like RE: Revelations 2 or RE Remake, Capcom goes back to the action genre and fails miserably once again.

P.S. Here's a bonus gif, where I wear a Leon mask, crawl at super-speed while reloading, and pistol-whip a zombie dick. It's the best part of the game.

Umbrella Corps feels like a rushed, unfinished failed attempt at a third person multiplayer shooter. Don't waste your time.

It takes some getting used to the turbo speed and strange camera, plus the tacked-on single player is a total fluke, but Umbrella Corps is a strangely compelling online shooter with a few unique ideas that made it a lot more fun than I was expecting.
