Prey offers to explore an interesting world of the space station with a very rich background, but occasionally prevent you to find out its mysterious vastness. Characters without depth, awkward inventory, a huge number of backtracking and too strong and annoying enemies, deprive you of the pleasure from the examine of environment. Unlike BioShock Infinite, Prey's main plot has no sharp emotions, shocking discoveries or memorable scenes. The game is absolutely bland and trying to copy the ideas from other projects, except for the first spacewalk or thirty minutes from the start. But it has something magical about it, forcing you to explore each area and solve the next side mission. If not for that strange charm, we would hardly spent as much time untangling the mysteries of the space station and its unfortunate crew.

PREY continues the hot streak of big releases in 2017. While not flawless, this title offers an incredible sci-fi story about paranoia and the self, while sprinkling Arkane's always excellent gameplay on top. While things like the psychic powers fail to justify being in the game mechanically, the creative weapons and multiple gameplay approaches help to make the exploration of Talos-I really shine. Between the rewards for searching through the environments, and the fact that the game is a visual treat, a venture through this deteriorating Cold War-era space station is definitely worth your time.

Arkane takes its time unfurling all of Prey's secrets, but that methodical approach makes every moment worth it the deeper you dive into the world the developer created.

Prey is mildly limited in scope and replay value, but everything that is there will hook players almost immediately. In terms of quality over quantity, Prey made the right trade off.

The game is dour and oblivious that its destination is more interesting and vital than the journey.

Prey owes a lot to its heritage, but still offers some cool new twists on old ideas.. While it would've been nice to see Prey venture a little further from shore, the shooter provides a fantastic iteration of existing concepts, making it an Editors' Choice.

Sci-fi survival horror can have a been-there, done-that vibe but Prey manages to add another worthy entry to a genre that has seen its fair share of titles. Thankfully, the game manages to strike a good balance between action and tension while weaving a narrative that encourages you to discover what's next. Certain aspects of combat can feel clunky and loading times can be annoying given all the backtracking you need to do. Overall, though, Prey is a pulse-pounding addition to the survival-horror genre.

Prey's greatest success is its approach to choice and exploration. For players looking for a direct and focused single player shooter experience, this will undoubtedly disappoint and perhaps even frustrate, but for players looking for a smart and immersive world rife with intrigue and tension, Prey is a quality companion for some true classics.

Although Prey's combat and narrative fail to fill the shoes of the games they're so obviously taking inspiration from, the visit to its Talos I space station is a marvel in interconnected level design and presentation. This is environmental storytelling and mechanical tension done to a tee, even if Prey is working hard to try and yank you out of its immersion far too often.

Prey's systems collide delightfully as the player moves through its magnificently designed interiors, and the stories within are also something extraordinary. Hunt it down with haste.

Arkane Studios' Prey is a master class in the immersive simulation, and perhaps its breakout title for this generation of consoles.

If you're looking for a good science-fiction survival game with a ton of fresh ideas, deep and satisfying mechanics with a lot of replayability and, of course a great setting... Well, look elsewhere, because Prey is not good : it's amazing.

Prey burrows beneath your skin and never quite leaves your waking thoughts, but it's also buggy and imbalanced, marrying a first-rate setting to uneven gameplay. Comparisons with Bioshock are inevitable, but with its peaks and troughs, Prey reminds me more of Alien: Isolation.

Demanding action game, which is prevented from getting higher scores by frustration and shapeless characters.

Despite its noticeable technical shortcomings, Prey still has some significant redeeming qualities. Its environment is one of the most enjoyable to explore and the way it weaves its overarching story into side quests only helps to accentuate the freedom you're given as a player.

Arkane Studios has another hit on their hands in the form of Prey. Some minor bugs aside, this is a horror fan's dream come true. Prey may appear to be a first-person shooter on the surface, but there's an RPG hidden just underneath its shiny graphics. You have the freedom to approach Prey in any way you desire, and it's unlikely any two players will have the same experience. With an intriguing story, impressive ambiance, and challenging gameplay, Prey is a must-own game that has found a unique take on psychological horror in game form.

Prey is the best BioShock-style game we've seen in years. It gets better the more you play it, and hides secrets that encourage repeat playthroughs. For fans of single-player titles, Prey is a game that belongs in Game of the Year discussions.

Prey often feels like mash-up of some of the best sci-fi survival horror games of yesteryear and Arkane's previous work. And it is. But it also a title with some wildly unique ideas, an incredibly thick and unnerving atmosphere, and an exemplary soundtrack.

Prey is highly sophisticated game in terms of gameplay, level design and narrative. It's graphical and artificial intelligence problems are easy to notice, although, we have a great sci-fi experience.
