Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Reviews
Remaster close to the ideal. Those who did not play the IZJS version get a whole new system gameplay. Few of those who have, the IZJS will benefit from some new additions. FF XII is by far the best "modern" version of the series.

Final Fantasy XII was outdone by the competition when it came out eleven years ago, and The Zodiac Age changes absolutely nothing in that regard. An overpriced and undercooked re-release of a game better left forgotten.
In short, Final Fantasy XII was a great RPG, swapping out gunblades and epic, world-destroying storylines in favour of ones revolving around political intrigue; it remains as such. It's as fun to play now as it was back in the dying stages of the PS2, and is perfect for returning fans or those who missed out previously.
The Zodiac Age eases Final Fantasy XII's progressive engine into a modern chassis. Some of Final Fantasy XII's problems were addressed some never will be, and that's OK. It's a one-of-a-kind model with tasteful upgrades and efficient tuning, and it leaves little doubt that The Zodiac Age is the best Final Fantasy XII has ever performed.
While the story and storytelling have not aged all that well, the rousing musical score, surprisingly strong visual direction, and its incredible, incredible gameplay, all cement this game's place as a modern classic.
For such a largescale RPG as Final Fantasy XII, it's great being to experience the title at home and on the go with all necessary enhancements
The main appeal of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is going to be for newcomers and Switch owners looking to play on the go. In addition to Zodiac Age being the definitive experience, one that includes several additions that improve the overall experience, it even results in a more satisfying experience. Unfortunately, despite some steps forward, it doesn't stop this remaster from having muddy visuals when on the go. That being said, it really is a must have for JRPG fans and worth the cost.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is not only a great remaster, but a massive improvement to an already excellent game.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a smashing port that brings all the revamps of Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System and adds more to it to improve the game for a better experience.
Final Fantasy XII released to mixed opinions when it first hit back in 2006, and even today, fans will still argue over where it deserves to land on a listing of the best chapters of the franchise. It received those opinions because it was a bold, daring, and different chapter of a series that up-ended our expectations for what Final Fantasy should be—and all these years later, those elements are part of the reason why I still think it's one of the best entries we've ever received.
A near-perfectly executed remaster of a contentious-but-stellar classic that manages to feel more modern and relevant than ever
Quality-of-life features elevate the game's standout elements.
For anyone who missed out on Final Fantasy XII the first time around, or perhaps hasn't played it since it came out on the PS2, like myself, you owe it to yourself to re-experience this game all over again.
Not as beautiful as we expected to see, but Final Fantasy XII is still a pearl of jRPG, also in the 2017.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a great remake of a classic Final Fantasy. If you missed out playing this the first time it is definitely worth giving a second look. It also features the appearances of the Judges which become a series staple and their armor appears prominently in FFXIV. For all you MMO fans XII is the closest you can get to an old school MMORPG experience from a single player RPG.
Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age Remastered is one of the better ports I have played in any game series. I played entirely in handheld mode and only ran into the problem of recharging the system every three hours of gameplay or so. You can once again get lost in FFXII with all updated graphics and gameplay. And if you've never had the chance to play it before, any Switch owner and RPG lover would do well to pick this one up.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is great. It was great in 2017 on the PS4. It’s greater now on the Switch. It looks amazing and the frame rate is consistent in the dock and in handheld.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age on Nintendo Switch is a great porting that can match its PS4 counterpart, adding portability to the mix.

Whether you're a long-time fan of Final Fantasy XII or a total newcomer, The Zodiac Age marks a triumphant and memorable return to Ivalice.
The Zodiac Age takes what was originally a mediocre game and makes it one of the best gameplay-oriented entries to the series.
