The Evil Within 2
Summary: A mixed follow-up to Bethesda's unique survival horror experience, Evil Within 2 still delivers when it comes to scares, even if poor storytelling and plotting may get in the way.

The Evil Within 2 did something not a lot of games have been able to do -- it won me over after a disappointing start. I went from hating the main character to being fully invested in his journey. At its core, this is a creepy survival horror game with tight gameplay and enough scares to keep you on edge. Unfortunately, while improving some aspects of the original, it has lost a lot of the charm that the first game absolutely nailed in its environments and enemies. Much like its predecessor, a few minor issues have stopped it from being a masterpiece, so I guess we'll just have to settle for a great game.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was surprised when Bethesda announced a sequel to the so-so Evil Within. But announce they did and here we have The Evil Within 2. Can it fix the flaws of the first? The FingerGuns review;
Despite its negative aspects, The Evil Within 2 shows what it came for. Its experience is incredible and challenging, and in certain moments you can forget about all the incomplete story plots to just have fun.

The Evil Within 2 is an intense, gory, brutal and most of all exhausting horror ride. Unforgettable sinister experience.

The Evil Within 2 is a solid horror title that has been keeping fans occupied as there are very few of them in the genre.
Play it if you dig a spooky atmosphere and don’t play it if you’re tired of “The Cat’s in the Cradle” in video game form
Some of the initial vision, gameplay and appeal may be lost, exchanged for a more streamlined, smoother experience but that doesn´t mean its worse. No, Tango Gameworks delivered a game expanding on Mikami´s initial vision, mixing it with more western ideas into a damn good game, only held back by a too foreseeable story and some minor flaws.
Mikami’s new game may not compare to the horrific Resident Evil 7, but it doesn’t have to either. The Evil Within 2 is a memorable and compelling game all on its own, and one that deserves to be played by horror fans and action game fans alike. The frustrations of the first game (which have been documented by others) are non-existent here and instead, this sequel outshines its predecessor in almost every aspect. Next time, just give us a bit better story and dialog, and a more interesting protagonist.
Evil Within 2 is a fantastic game with a compelling story and engaging gameplay. I fully recommend it to any fans of the Horror genre.
The Evil Within 2 delivers a solid horror performance that suffers a bit because of poorly designed open world spaces. Psycho-Horror Fans and people that like abstract art will still get what they came for but it doesn't feel like an improvement over the first title.
