Nioh is hamstrung by a sloppy PC port, but still manages to bring new ideas to death-treadmill action RPGs.

Nioh, one of this year's best PS4 exclusives comes to PC, and I am both elated and frustrated.

When it was released earlier this year, Nioh was far more than just a Dark Souls clone; it was an intense, action-packed and painfully-challenging action RPG that carved its own path.

It's a game about raising your own level and mastering one of the finest combat systems ever put on a screen. It might be standing on the shoulders of Souls, but it's got its eyes on a very different destination.

A sloppy port but this is still the best SoulsBorne clone out there, with plenty of unique ideas of its own and some of the best combat of the generation.

Nioh: Complete Edition is a great game. That much should be expected as the original release was. However, much like all Koei Tecmo PC ports, this release suffers from some glaring omissions and limitations. Fortunately, Team Ninja have already announced some patches to start improving the release.

The acclaimed Nioh marks its debut on PC without any particular accomplishment or novelties: the PC version, that includes the three previously released DLCs, can either be defined "pure" or "lazy", depending on your point of view. The game is exactly the same we already appreciated on PS4, including the lack of support for mouse and keyboard.

Nioh: Complete Edition is arguably the best way to experience Team Ninja's fantastic action-adventure. Its tight combat requires fierce determination and its massive world can be daunting at first, but William is more than equipped to take on the horrors that await him.

The PC version of Nioh delivers excellent action and a staggering amount of content. Mastering the gameplay systems may seem overwhelming for new players, but those who stick with it will be rewarded.

While not a perfect port, Nioh: Complete Edition is a full-fledged experience. Both complex and challenging, it's a worthwhile journey for any action game fan.

Nioh slips onto the PC and is as great as it was on the PS4, with DLC and some minor control issues.

With the right setup and using a gamepad, Nioh is an enjoyable and passable experience on the PC. There's lots of content, the gameplay is fun (if you like this style of gameplay).

Clearly with the focus on combat and challenging enemies, there are similarities with Nioh and From Software's Souls games, but unlike other games that have built themselves to be copies of the successful formula, the team behind Nioh have added their style into the mix to make it more than another game trying to lure the fans of hardcore action RPGs to it.

A fantastic show of force from the long-standing Team Ninja, but one that feels like it didn't truly understand the mass appeal of the genre. Spruced up with the group's signature style, Nioh only falters with its less captivating world. We can appreciate the heritage, but it won't grab everyone.

Nioh: Complete Edition is a worthy “Soulsbourne” game, and maybe one of the best. With the inclusion of all the DLC and the great performance of the port, Nioh should be a day 1 purchase for all fans of the genre. The combat system allows you to play fast and aggressive or slow and defensive, whichever suits your playstyle, and the inclusion of DLC weapons from the start means that you have an incredible amount of customization right off the bat to play through this deep, lengthy game.

NiOh: Complete Edition is a lazy port of the originale game: no support for mouse and keyboard, no settings inside the game (you have to use the launcher). Nonetheless is an edition that offers a lot of contents and all the three DLCs. It is a must buy for all the soulslike lovers.

After the successful release of Nioh for PS4, now its PC version came out with all of its DLC. Nioh is a game that every RPG fan and also those who like difficult games must play. It must be said that the PC port of the game lacks the basic standards for a PC Port like mouse support (At the launch day). However, it is yet a good game and if you hadn’t the opportunity to play the PS4 version, now it’s the time. Score: 8.5 out of 10

If you're lucky enough to not have been plagued with port issues, then you'll find Nioh: Complete Edition to be a wonderfully difficult action game. Though it brings along a high level of difficulty that seems to be en vogue for recent action games, its emphasis on faster action makes it a perfect complement for the competition. Similarly, the loot drops are a great addition, and the oddball story makes the game feel more distinct. It would've been nice to see more PC-specific optimization, but Nioh is worth checking out for fans of difficult action games.

I consider that our generation of players is a very fortunate generation, and we are witnessing the birth of a new genre that belong to the souls and Nioh games and these games offer an amazing balance between the play style and the individual story, the duration of the game, or the replay value, the game easily can give you an experience of more than 50 hours of continuous play, and I expect to see a lot of games that embrace this style and offer us a similar experience

If you have Nioh on the PlayStation 4, there isn't a big need to upgrade to the Complete Edition. If you haven't played Nioh and you like action RPGs set in ancient Japan, this is the game for you.
