DOOM - Nintendo Switch Edition Reviews
In the end, Doom is a worthy successor to the original and although there was mixed reviews of Doom 3 way back in 2004, id Software should be praised on not only paying homage to the original but successfully rebooting the franchise on high-end consoles, the PC and now the Nintendo Switch.
Doom in portable version is an experience to try at least once and to enjoy completely, despite some graphic limits and controls in need of a careful calibration.

One year after release, Doom's campaign is still one of the generation's best
Bethesda did it -- they ported Doom to a Nintendo console. It might not be the prettiest version, but it works, and it was enough to get me to play it all over again. Nintendo learned a lot from its failure on the Wii U, and its ability to welcome in more mature games on the system is something it hasn't done in quite a while. It's a message for all the prospective first and third parties alike -- keep doing it.
While it's fantastic to have a shooter out on the Switch at last, I still prefer my PC version.
Doom on Switch is a triumph of the human spirit. It is just one more feather in Nintendo's cap as third party developers are flocking to the Switch. Panic Button deserves extremely high praise for this port. It may not be perfect, but Doom on Switch offers players a new way to play one of the finest shooters to come out in recent history.
The less capable hardware does force a lot of sacrifices, but fewer than many might have expected. This results in a less visually pleasing game, but still a solid one that delivers on the important stuff. And the game really takes new shape when played in handheld mode, presenting one of the best looking and playing shooters ever found on a portable console.
Doom on Switch is an amazing port that looks incredibly great in a portable mode, but really outdated if you play it in home console mode on a large TV. Nevertheless, it's still Doom with meaty and fun gameplay. If you prefer a portable gaming or want to be able to play Doom on the road, you can safely buy this version of the game. In other cases it's better to buy it on PC, PS4 or Xbox One.

If you own multiple devices and play primarily in your own home, buy DOOM on another console. If you play whilst on the go a lot, DOOM may very well be the best first-person shooter ever put on to a handheld device. In any case, DOOM is still DOOM, and DOOM is great. Here's hoping we get more portable experiences like this on the Switch.

While it's perhaps not as polished as it is on other formats, having DOOM in portable form is a revelation, and developer Panic Button deserves high praise for porting over id Software's classic title so brilliantly.
Doom on Switch has no right to be as good as it is. Some compromises aside, you're getting the full, current-gen experience of Doom (minus SnapMap) on a console you can take anywhere. It's a technical marvel that, besides a few issues, demonstrates what's possible on Nintendo's new hybrid.
Despite the technical limitations by the Nintendo Switch hardware, you will experience all the brutality and incredible action in this version of DOOM which is a good opportunity for a new audience.

Doom for the Nintendo Switch delivers the goods. Featuring the enveloping and addictive mechanics that made the original such a landmark title, this newest version of one of the most significant games in history features a fantastic campaign mode, a magnificent soundtrack and a consistently solid performance on Nintendo's hybrid console.

DOOM on Nintendo Switch is a remarkable achievement. It runs much better than I expected it to and looks fairly decent in handheld mode. The game is still incredibly fun 18 months on and is perfectly suited to the handheld device. It's a great testimony to AAA games on Nintendo Switch and proves that the console can not only handle hardcore games, but potentially even become the best place to play them.
Even though this is the worst version of Doom available up to now, it's still a remarkable achievement for Nintendo's hybrid console and a good version of one of the best shooters of 2016.

Blasting your way through hell on the go is still an experience we can’t quite get over. With FPS games largely being a bit rubbish on portable systems, playing DOOM in all its glory on the train or during a flight has been a bit of a revelation.
It's clear, beyond the obvious limitation with resolution and frame-rate, that DOOM for Switch has had to make some restrictions.
If the Switch is your main console, and you somehow missed out on id Software's fantastic throwback to a bygone era of First Person Shooters, then I wholeheartedly recommend DOOM on the Switch.
Objectively, this is the worst version of Doom, but that doesn't really matter because it is the best version on the Nintendo Switch.
