DOOM does more than fill a niche currently unoccupied on Switch. It's a standout shooter that blurs the line between fps and action game. With a detailed campaign and plenty of additional modes to keep you coming back, DOOM is more than worthy of a place in your catalog.
It's Doom (2016) for Nintendo Switch. It has online multiplayer. You can play it at the barber shop if you wish. Just don't let it entertain the person with the clippers or you'll meet your doom.
DOOM is one of the best shooters of all time, proving that with the convincing atmosphere it creates, as impressive as the one created by the first games in the series. It's a game that every gamer should try.

Doom on Nintendo Switch is visually pared back compared to other versions, but it's still fast, addictive and gorgeous. Seeing it run on a portable is truly a sight to behold. Nintendo fans should not pass this one up.
While the classics can never be topped, DOOM gives us a solid ultraviolent shooter for the modern age. The PC and Xbox One version was already great, and the Nintendo Switch port now brings the Japanese console closer to a mature audience.
Doom for Nintendo Switch is a straightforward port that runs well and looks pretty good. Which ultimately, is everything it needed to be. Even though it's a little fuzzy, smashing through a legion of demons with a fun set of weapons and upgrades feels great, and especially when you throw in arcade mode and the much-improved multiplayer arena battles, this is the best mature-themed shooter you can currently get on the Switch.
Brutal, fast paced and fun, Doom pays homage to classic FPS. Nintendo Switch version, at 30 FPS (unstable), is not as spectacular as the original released last year, but remains fresh and it´s unique in its genre.

Bethesda pulled off quite the trick with Doom, giving us the first real AAA third-party game experience on the Nintendo Switch. What it lacks in graphical power, it makes up for in portability, and the fact that the complete, unadulterated campaign and multiplayer modes made it over intact is an achievement other studios should take note of.
Doom on the Switch is the real deal.
If playing Doom on the go is a huge factor, it gets no better than this. It doesn't look the clearest or run the smoothest, but 90% of the time players can still enjoy one hell of a game.
DOOM on the Switch is a great package. The fact that you can take this game with you wherever you go and play this game at any time is pretty amazing considering this was one of the most graphically intense games of 2016.

Doom on the Switch is impressive. It's pretty much the same game it was over a year ago, and that is not a bad sign. It obviously isn't perfect and won't be everyone's cup of tea. Some may be bothered by the technical hiccups, while others will rejoice in the newly awakened third-party support that has brought them one of the better FPS experiences in the past two years.
Doom runs really well on the Nintendo Switch besides some recurring framerate issues when you encounter more enemies. If you can live with a missing snapmap editor and a reduced graphic performance you'll definitely have some fun on the go. If you wanna play it mainly on a TV you should stick with the other versions of the game.

You’ll notice that over the course of the review thus far the focus hasn’t been on how the game performs on the Switch, and moreso just generally on what it offers, and there’s a good reason for that. DOOM has done something I think most people would have considered impossible a year ago, bringing a full-featured AAA gaming experience to a device that you can take anywhere. That isn’t to say that it didn’t need to make compromises to work on the hardware and to avoid filling your SD card, but having played this on a high-end PC I am in awe of how few concessions you are able to perceive on the Switch. Visually it isn’t quite as jaw-dropping but the flow of the game is as smooth and solid as it is anywhere aside from a very limited number of hitches I ran into over hours of play. DOOM has come to the Switch not as a hamstrung and watered-down port but as a top-of-the-line experience that can be taken anywhere, and it is worthy of your attention.
Doom is also impressive on Nintendo Switch, but the controls with the Joy-Con are very fussy. A Pro Controller is required!
