Planet Alpha is a gorgeous thing to look at and it starts well, but its second half struggles with its level design and can become frustrating as a result.

Whilst an enjoyable and undoubtedly beautiful game, Planet Alpha never quite makes the leap into classic territory. There is an admirable sense of vision here and the commitment to a non-verbal narrative is striking, but Planet Alpha remains a functional game under the gorgeous aesthetic. The fusions of cinematic platformer and endless runner often feel at odds with one another as the game pushes you forward when you most want to stand back and enjoy the view. Life here comes at you fast; blink and you'll be vaporised or crushed by a mile high leviathan.

Planet Alpha's glorious vistas are worth seeing, even though its mechanics aren't particularly unique.

Even with some technical issues, Planet Alpha is a very fun game to play. Don't expect another Limbo or Inside, but the environments design alone can justify buying it.

A well-crafted title that mixes elements from platform, stealth and puzzle games. Some sequences linger a bit much on a trial & error system, but the overall experience is very pleasant.

Planeth Alpha is a sci-fi adventure really excellent in the artistic design, like a true moving fresco, but not as effective in everything related to gameplay, with obvious puzzles and imperfect stealth mechanics.

Planet Alpha is an interesting game. Its gameplay is extremely simple whereas its graphics presentation is excellent. Although it does not bring an appealing story to the player, it is the group of elements which makes you want to travel to the planet and visit it.

Overall Planet Alpha is an interesting adventure that takes you across (and under) a visually diverse and interesting planet. It can be hard to appreciate as you dash by it, sometimes while being fired at, but it's obvious a lot of care was put into making this feel like a real place complete with ecosystems and a variety of life forms both benign and aggressive. While it isn't a terribly long experience I'd say it stays just ahead of the curve for exhausting its ideas completely, making it a generally well-paced and simply different experience.

All in all, for what the game is supposed to be, it does it really well. Yes, there are some minor inconveniences but that’s all they were, minor. It’s just a shame that it’s one of the shorter ones out there, but it was still a pretty good time—aside from the end, let’s leave it at that. So if you want, give Planet Alpha a go. It’s definitely worth it in terms of how it looks and it can get pretty fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with PLANET ALPHA. The vibrancy within the art style and level of the detail, not only in the background environments but the foreground too, makes for a very gorgeous experience. Over the course of my 5-hour playthrough, I didn’t necessarily see anything new or inventive within its platforming elements but the manipulation of time felt fresh and worked incredibly well as a puzzle mechanic. It’s a remarkable little game with a story that has a very satisfying sense of mystery and discovery even if the ending was a little predictable.

Stealth segments do drag down the experience somewhat but are the exception not the rule in otherwise compelling gameplay. From a technical standpoint, the Switch may not be the best way to play, but the core experience shines through. Planet Alpha was the refreshing breath of air that I never realized the genre needed.

It doesn't have the best platforming you've ever experienced. Nor does it have the best puzzles. But what's perfectly adequate, when coupled with those visuals, ends up being something quite special.

Planet Alpha is a gorgeous trek through an alien world and the strange timey wimey things that afflict it. While the pacing can occasionally feel a little bit off, the slower moments do allow you time to take everything in. The puzzles are the only real challenge throughout and most aren't so obtuse that they become frustrating so it works well. If you are after a striking world to get lost in then maybe this is the one for you.

A wonderful aesthetics, a comfortable gameplay for everyone, an uncomplicated theme and ingenious puzzles that make use of the graphic engine itself and the stage to solve them.

If you're looking for a (mostly) peaceful gameplay experience that relaxes you and immerses you into an artificial world, Planet Alpha is definitely for you. The game's length is short, and people that want an action experience will get none of it with Planet Alpha. But aside from that, it's a game that you shouldn't pass up.

A beautiful experience. Planet Alpha looks like the game that, if Gaudi was alive today, he could have designed. Platforms, stealth and puzzles based on the day-night cycle.

PLANET ALPHA is a game of delicious invoice, with a simply perfect artistic section and 2.5D gameplay that works well. We will have to remove our character from this beautiful and dangerous planet while we attend something much greater, a conflict that escapes from our hands, but that influences how our adventure progresses. Platforms, puzzles, exploration, stealth, end up forming a very attractive cocktail for any player.

PLANET ALPHA is an action-adventure platformer you need to play. There is never a dull moment as you run and jump to escape, evade, and avoid enemies, traps, and environmental disasters. PLANET ALPHA is a serious contender in the platforming genre and perhaps raises it to a new standard of excellence.

Planet Alpha takes you on a trip to an alien world that oozes with atmosphere and scale. The platforming and puzzles will keep you on your toes from beginning to end in an indie game that is as beautiful as most AAA titles.
