Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Reviews
Thronebreaker proves card games can tell a story every bit as punchy and provocative as the blockbusters it takes inspiration from.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is one of the best-written RPGs in years, with exciting card battles that are kept cleverly fresh throughout.
A captivating story and varied card battles ensure this light-touch RPG remains entertaining throughout its lengthy campaign.
An amazing marriage of world-class storytelling and strategic card gaming, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a fantastic RPG in its own right.
Thronebraker effortlessly infuses Gwent with the geopolitical underpinnings, fantasy tales, and difficult choices of The Witcher series
Thronebreaker's strong writing and compelling characters accent a strong re-imagining of Gwent and a gripping single-player story.
When a single character’s dialogue is the most annoying thing about a card game, the creators probably deserve some credit. Lord knows the voice acting is at least as good as it is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and so is the writing. By that I mean the writing is a passable exploration of fantasy tropes and power politics that’ll probably become hugely overrated.
While utilising the ruleset of a more traditional CCG system might put off some players, the on-brand approach to turn-based combat in Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is still a positive addition to the world. Because with such an involved and intricately designed story – and such an interesting world to explore beyond the confines of Geralt – Thronebreaker offers the opportunity to lose yourself in the Continent like never before.
Not only is Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales a great game in its own right, but it's also a worthy entry into the franchise and lore.
It may not be The Witcher game you expected, but Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is an exceptional addition to the series, and a must-play for all Gwent fans.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is an innovative game that combines traditional card games with RPG games, and the game has been able to bring new and interesting characters into the rich Witcher world, with good graphics and a constantly renewed fighting style. I can say that Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales surprised me Personally, it is a card game but suffers from some drop in the frame rate and freezing of the unwarranted screen. The game may give preference to those who play Gwent: The Witcher Card Game by winning special cards as they progress in the game they can use in the Gwent game.

Gwent became a means to an end by the finale, a necessary thing to do to unlock the next story segment, and something I would avoid when possible. Its a shame because Thronebreaker does some good work modifying the familiar Gwent rules, they just get easily overshadowed by the main storyline and the various decisions you can find along the way.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is an excellent combination of art, gameplay and story. A game that detaches care in each of its elements. Meve is the new awesome and badass character in The Witcher universe!

With that said, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales alone is worth the journey. Even if you're not a major Gwent fan, the custom scenarios and puzzles could spark new interest and compel you to explore a significant chapter in the Witcher lore.
Thronebreaker is an intersting spin-off, with a clever puzzle design and an intersting atmosphere. But its story could have been so much better...

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales looks like a simple proposal at the beginning, but it feels deep when we explore its guts. A new chapter in the world of Geralt of Rivia in which we will feel the cold breath of war between The Northern Kingdoms and Nilfgaard

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will dazzle the fans of the universe thanks, especially, to its elaborate and evocative story. And the charisma that Meve lavishes, the protagonist of the game. Reorder the bases of Gwent to provide more packaging to the exciting battles for house brand cards.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the next patch fixes this particularly nasty bug. Don't you worry. I reported pretty much every single one of these. My pain will hopefully be your gain.
Between its incredible story, excellent gameplay, and surprisingly fantastic presentation factor, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is yet another masterpiece from CD Projekt Red that pushes the boundaries of game design and proves that anything, even a card game, can be groundbreaking if done well.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales tells a good story with some fantastic writing. The writing alone is worth the price of admission, but the Gwent combat can get confusing and overwhelming at times.
