You should play 11-11, and not just because it's a chance to enjoy a captivating piece of interactive storytelling. This game is important, because of the way it makes you think, without ever telling you what to think. Lest we forget.
As Valiant Hearts or This War of Mine, this game wants to show the most painful side of the war. Harry and Kurt are two characters with good stories and drawn like a Monet canvas. But some clumsy puzzles and predictable situations do not let them reach higher.

11-11: Memories Retold is an immersive, beautiful, and emotionally charged game. It's at its best when it functions as a playable film, with you making the major decisions. Where it falls down is in its clunky gameplay and story beats that are locked behind secret item collection. However, the strong celebrity performances and engaging story more than make up for this and create a really unique experience that is both thought provoking and enjoyable. As the subtlest World War game ever made, there's nothing more appropriate to play to commemorate the signing of the Armistice.
And even though it might not be exactly a true story, it doesn’t matter; it paints an important picture. One that can help a whole generation of people understand what soldiers went through during the First World War. What could be more impressive than that?
11-11: Memories Retold is an absolutely glorious story of love and loss during the brutality of The Great War. It’s story is believable and educational and it’s told through the eyes of two men who I felt genuinely attached to
11-11 is a unique (and relatively inexpensive) title that’s worth picking up.
Fanise's new game feels like an interesting way of remembering the Great War, but it does not take full advantage of the possibilities offered by the video game medium.

An aesthetically beautiful and deeply personal look at a very significant yet, troubling time in human history. Delving into the lives of the two men on opposing sides who enter the war for very human reasons and whose lives are deeply affected by each other and the war itself, is taxing, moving and as a narrative experience, poignant and worthwhile.
11-11: Memories Retold tells a deeply touching human tale of war. Of one man seeking a grand adventure and heroism. Of another man attempting to reunite his fractured family. Of the many who lost their lives serving their respective countries.
It has its flaws, and definitely isn't mainstream, but 11-11: Memories Retold is an important and emotionally potent game. For players with patience, and those who lean towards shorter, contemplative and character-driven gaming experiences, it's something to add to your library. For everyone though, gamer and non-gamers alike, it is an engrossing and educational look at war from a relatable, individual perspective. And right now it feels like the world could do with just such a well-though-out reminder about the humanity of others.

While the gameplay isn’t particularly thrilling, more often than not it still services a well-told story in a gorgeously realized game.
Memories Retold is a memorable and engaging adventure that needed to be made. However, like a history lesson you half paid attention to, that doesn't necessarily mean it was enjoyable to play. Ultimately, it's good enough to slog through, but that may not be the case for everyone.
11-11: Memories Retold, however, is still a game worth more than a look-in, and at roughly five-to-six hours, you'll gain a deep and respectful look at one of the world's most jarring global conflicts, from the perspectives of the individual.
11-11 Memories Retold is an amazing virtual monument to the casualties of World War I. Its story about two ordinary soldiers that are drafted to war against their will, is told in an unique, borderline experimental way. And it's one of the rare games that will make you think not about just solving logic puzzles, but about the cruelty of war and its repercussions.

With so many choices left unexplored and far too many hidden items I have yet to discover, 11-11: Memories Retold is a replayable title with new experiences for me to discover. What if I don't send that picture to Julia and send this one instead? And where is that last card game I seem to have missed? It only took about four and a half hours for me to complete the game once. Surely I can spare another afternoon or two to bolster my trophy count and make some tough choices.
This is a singular dramatic achievement in the adventure game genre, with high production values and a superb narrative.
