Sid Meier's Civilization VI - Console Edition Reviews
Civilization VI is essential. Not only is it a game that's educational, informative, and inspirational (see my video above for more thoughts around that), but it's also deeply pertinent to today's world and gives players a way of seeing - and grappling - with the topic on their own terms.
I already know that this will be my most-played game on the Switch over the longer term. Once you start playing Civilization, it has the most incredible ability to make you lose all sense of time, and desire to play anything else. I was marginally worried about whether the port to the Switch would result in too many compromises, but there have been none and, for the first time since Civilization 2 from way back on the PlayStation, we have a proper Civilization title on console. That's something special.
Shrinking such a dense game onto a smaller system and making it work with game-pad controls is no mean feat, and Aspyr’s port of Civilization VI feels like a perfect introduction to the series while also offering a new way to play for experienced fans.
Perhaps the greatest triumph for Civilization VI on PlayStation is that it is the full, uncut, and immersive Civilization experience PC players have been enjoying for decades perfectly translated to console. A challenging, but welcoming strategy title that is either the perfect entry point for new players, or the single best reason for long-time fans who have transitioned to a more couch-based gaming lifestyle to jump back in.
If you are hungry for a good 4X title, you need not look further than Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. Its namesake is the literal benchmark for 4X games for a reason, and Civilization VI only cemented this fact on PC, and now on console. Controls may take a bit to get used to, but other than that there are very few reasons you anyone to not to pick it up.
Civ VI is a fantastic strategy game that, for the first time, has been successfully adapted to a console in a way that controls well.
Basically, if you enjoy 4X games or are a Civilization fan, you have to pick this up. But you didn’t need me to tell you that. It’s already on your list and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is already in the download queue. If it’s not, you’ve got time right now to remedy that.
One of the best PC to console ports ever, with the strategy great working impressively well on the Switch and opening up the series to a whole new audience.
Another excellent PC to console port, with surprisingly intuitive controls and a wealth of content and options that make this one of the best strategy games ever.
Firaxis Games has done a magnificent job of porting Civilization 6 to the Nintendo Switch. While the PC version offers superior graphics and controls, you won’t be able to put this Civilization 6 Switch port down. It retains the series’ effortlessly addictive gameplay and is the perfect title for newcomers and long-time Civilization fans alike. Just one more turn.
Civ VI released two years ago for PC and has grown through updates, tweaked gameplay and DLC since then. The Switch version is just the base game, but that's more than OK. There's plenty to sink your teeth into, providing hours upon hours of unique experiences, accompanied by a divine soundtrack to really get you in the mood for building nations. Civ VI is a titan of a game and well worth your time, even if you've already spent hours on the PC version, because, now it's portable, which is potentially dangerous to those who have jobs. Now the threat of taking “just one more turn” can haunt you wherever you go.
An excellent conversion for one of the best Civs to date. Great interface, good performances. Too bad for the battery drain, but with two full hours playtime of it's very reasonable and acceptable, considering the quality of the port.

Civilization VI is a fantastic strategy game, and having it on consoles will allow plenty of newcomers the chance to experience it for the first time.
Civilization is a legendary strategy franchise, and to finally get it on Xbox One is a dream. Just be warned, this is one hell of an addictive game.
Civilization VI is an excellent strategy game that offers numerous ways to play, and all of them are viable options. You can lead a peaceful nation or a war-mongering empire and still have an engrossing and rewarding experience like few others on PS4. Excessive load times, grating music, and some occasionally irksome controls are the only real downsides to what is otherwise the system's best strategy game, and a title that strategy fans can scarcely afford to skip.
The already marvelous Civilization VI makes the jump to PS4 almost entirely intact, and with the addition of two meaty expansions, this is an essential title for console strategy fans. It's a little overwhelming for newcomers, but it treats the player with respect and rewards a curious mind with an utterly absorbing experience.
Sid Meier's Civilization VI is still a great game. Regardless of the platform, it retains its charm and deep gameplay. Versions for stationary consoles turned out to be very successful with well-adapted control for gamepads. If you are a fan of the genre and did not play the game, do it on any convenient system for you.

As far as turn-based 4x games, the Civilization series remains the best in the business, and Civilization Vi is no slouch in the lineup.
If you think Civilization peaked at IV, the sixth entry won't change your mind, but we envy anyone who's never played the series – Civilization VI on Switch is a brilliant introduction.
Absolutely recommended both to those who want to go back to rewriting the destiny of humanity with a pad in their hands and to beginners who wish to approach one of the most important fragments of gaming history ever.
