In the end, Far Cry: New Dawn is based on a good idea but ends up with a mediocre implementation. The variations it offers to the original recipe are interesting, but they do not offer anything radical in relation to what we already know.

Far Cry New Dawn offers a more polished take on Far Cry 5’s mechanics. It’s good enough that I wish they would go back and implement the changes to challenges and perks in 5.

Although there's fun to be had in New Dawn, it feels a bit like a downgrade compared to Far Cry 5. An okay story, weak antagonists and mostly empty world are being held up by the franchise's usual standard for combat and graphics.

Far Cry New Dawn’s moment to moment gameplay is all about fun. It’s story isn’t as strong as previous entries but it makes up for that by delivering on what makes a Far Cry game so great. The world. And there’s a ton for you to do here. Even if like me you’re not a big fan of the main quest line you’ll still have a ball clearing outposts, leveling up your abilities, crafting new upgrades and weapons, completing treasure hunts and expedition missions or even jumping in with a friend and exploring Hope County cooperatively. The new mechanics and systems introduced here have me really excited to see what Ubisoft come out with in the next Far Cry entry.

Far Cry New Dawn is a refined but unexciting adventure.

A dull story with boring characters and dialogues, destructive RPG elements, extreme emphasis on looting and microtransactions and bad level design, ruined an experience that otherwise would have been a fun Far Cry game

If you Haven't Played FarCry 5 yet, FarCry: New Dawn is the best place for you. even though the price tag seems a little bit odd, but this game is a great choice for FarCry Franchise Lovers and offers great graphics and enjoyable story that make it a nice choice for Those Who haven't Played FarCry 5 Yet

But for the most part, Far Cry New Dawn is fun, and that's the only thing that matters. There is more than enough content to never feel that you're grinding (although you are), and it fulfills one of the weirdest human fascinations, and that's the life after a world-encompassing cataclysm. And best of all, the entirety of the game can be played in co-op mode.

As an overall package, Far Cry New Dawn delivers a focused expansion of the world that was established in Far Cry 5. You don't need to play the prior game to enjoy what's here, but those who have done so will come into New Dawn with a greater appreciation of the world and the characters. The more limited scope means no add-on features (like Far Cry Arcade) and no season pass, but it also allowed for some experimentation that you don't usually see in a AAA title. Put this one on your purchase list, but you should stick with the regular edition and skip the deluxe edition. The deluxe edition is $10 more, with nothing to offer except some early weapon unlocks with alternate skins.

In my opinion that Ubisoft Montreal has made a lot of technical and visual progress in trying to get the difficult equation to become the spin-off better than the basic game, but still needs more to become a special version in the series.

A disappointing sequel which doesn't use the post-apocalyptic setting very well. It adds some new mechanics, but deep inside it's the same Far Cry 5 without any meaningful additions.

"When it comes down to it, Far Cry New Dawn is a familiar yet fun experience that introduces some much-needed tweaks to Ubisoft’s stale formula. The problem, however, is that it’s too familiar and not doing enough to really warrant a playthrough..."

An enjoyable game that never rises to anything more for anyone familiar with the series, and for newcomers Far Cry 4 might be a better choice.

Far Cry New Dawn recycles the same general setting from last year's Far Cry 5, but this time with a post-apocalyptic twist and healthy injection of creative, colorful, and bombastic content.

Surprisingly, Far Cry New Dawn is much more than just a spin-off, and it can be easily considered as one of the main and best titles in the Far Cry series.

Far Cry: New Dawn has nothing less than a main game in Far Cry series and it is a very complete game full of high quality content. Despite of some problems in story, i must say that amazing graphics, deep gameplay with new RPG elements and features, even more beautiful Hope County (than Far Cry 5) and many different activities to do, made Far Cry: New Dawn one of the best spin-offs that we've seen so far and either you play Far Cry 5 or not, you should definitely experience Far Cry: New Dawn, because it is absolutely worth your time and money.

Except for the story that doesn't meet the standards, this game could provide hours of fun and enjoyable gameplay, but the franchise should consider introducing some changes in the future to keep the experience fresh.

New Dawn is more Far Cry for those who have extinguished all their other options, but its new additions aren't fleshed out quite enough to captivate newcomers looking for a substantial open world experience, or entice deserters that have grown tired of the franchise formula.
