Super Smash Bros. for Wii U offers the most modes, fighters, and stages in the history of the franchise, with a surprisingly high level of polish across the board. Whether you prefer multiplayer or toughing it out against CPU fighters, you'll find hours of excellent fun throwing down with your favorite Nintendo characters.

[I]t's a confirmation of what Smash Bros. has been all along: a raucous, reverent celebration of Nintendo games and the people who play them. And the best part is everyone's invited.

This game is definitely what the Wii U needs for a huge boost, and the popularity of smash probably is going to give it atleast some of that much-needed boost. It polishes everything the 3DS version lacks in, though gets rid of the underwhelming Smash Run game mode for the, sadly, even more underwhelming Smash Tour game mode. It presents itself really well through amazing graphics and music, but also through fluid, fast gameplay, but the lack of an adventure mode really makes this game lacks something. that said, go out and buy this game if you have a Wii U right now!

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U builds on the best of the series and perhaps the only thing you may miss in the game is more interesting 3rd party characters.

Super Smash Bros. For Wii U brings brilliant brawling back to the big screen. Though Smash Tour and the lack of a true story mode are disappointing, the exceptional character roster, great stage design, handsome visuals, addictive extra modes and timeless fun factor make for a guaranteed good time. Just add mates, whether online or on the couch.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U is a celebration, a party for gamers where they can enjoy beating the crap out of their friends all in good fun. It's a nostalgia-fuelled trip that will likely keep players busy for months, and even if you unlock everything the game has to offer you'll come back for the Smash Battles. It's a game that belongs in every Wii U owners library and indeed the big screen.

If you're looking for a reason to buy a Wii U, Super Smash Bros is your best bet. It's the most polished and fun Smash Bros. game I've played. For someone who loves video games like I do, seeing all these characters, as well as the extra trophies and the amazing soundtrack, I have just as much fun perusing the little extra details as fighting itself. With so much content, I'll be playing for years to come.

This game needs to be in every Wii U owner's collection. The replay value, from playing to collecting and unlocking everything, is almost endless. And it's going to be pretty hard to not want to play this game endlessly. This is a title that players will keep coming back to for years to come.

Amiibo aside, Super Smash Bros. is a triumph of good design, a generous approach to content, and making smart refinements to an already stellar franchise in order to keep fans interested. It is also much, much better than the 3DS version of the game, and caps off a stellar end to the year for the Wii U that included Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors. There's no better time to buy into the console.

‎Nintendo had quite a bit to live up to. Since the announcement of this game, director Masahiro Sakurai has been throwing coals on the fire of the Hype Train with his ‎‎daily screenshots,‎‎teasers and cryptic comments in Nintendo Directs. The poor man has almost worked his way into the grave with the latest smash, but he succeeded; Super Smash Bros For Wii U is more than worth it. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is without a doubt the best game for the Wii U this year.‎

As a tribute to all things Nintendo, Super Smash Bros. can hardly be topped. The attention to detail afforded to its characters is matched only by the comprehensive nature of its soundtrack and stage selection. On top of that, the Wii U brings with it a huge amount of single-player and multiplayer content, putting it a notch above its similarly strong handheld counterpart. Running through Classic Mode and the like to unlock characters can be the tiniest bit tedious, and the Amiibos don't stand out as a particularly worthy addition, but there's otherwise very little to complain about in this excellent high-definition update of Nintendo's much-loved mash-up.

When all is said and done, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a fantastic entry into the series. The amount of content in the game is truly incredible and Mr. Sakurai and the teams at Sora Ltd. and Capcom have put a ton of work into the title. When the title was first mentioned at E3 2011, fans were ecstatic to finally be getting some new Smash, and the long wait up until 2014 was a hard time for many Nintendo fans.
