Blacksad: Under the Skin has a pleasantly engaging story and fine, if somewhat repetitive, game play mechanics. Unfortunately, the end result just did not seem to be a finished product. Significant patch work will be needed to do justice to the story.

Pendulo Studios have managed to create something that feels unbelievably faithful to its source material, with an admittedly small number of teething problems that really don’t detract from the overall experience

Blacksad: Under the Skin holds promise, and it makes good on a few ideas. The noir storytelling is appropriately entertaining, and the gameplay manages to hold up, even if it doesn't strive for much. However, the inconsistent graphics and terrible performance mar what would otherwise be a solid little adventure.

Good adventure game, however nos as good as original comics. There should be better controls and memorable characters.

Blacksad might bot be the thing that we expected it to be, but it is still a good choice for adventure fans, at least for a few hours. There is nothing specifically wrong with Blacksad, but some minor issues, a bit of a slow tempo and of course tons of bugs hurt the overall experience.

Blacksad: Under the Skin is both a good videogame adaptation of the original comics and a great detective for those who will meet John Blacksad for the first time.

Blacksad: Under the Skin didn't make use of the best aspects of the comic books, although it still presents an interesting whodunit mystery noir that can be enjoyed, provided you could ignore its various technical issues.

It might take a while to find your footing with Blacksad, but that's okay. The characters are charming and the story is interesting as well. Unfortunately the game doesn't control that well and the graphics are disappointing as well.

Blacksad:Under the Skin is game could aim very high, but the problems along the developing and the rush to publish it went its worst enemy. The game is very beautiful in both the artistic and musical sections, but the game is unplayable the most part of game due to technical problems.

With an interesting track system, a very good audiovisual section, acceptable and replayable duration, Blacksad: Under the Skin is recommended for both comic fans and those who love the American noir theme. Some improvements in the animations and a slightly more polished visual section would not have gone wrong, as well as a deeper gameplay.

Even though I ran into some pretty heavy technical glitches on my playthroughs, Blacksad: Under the Skin was a really fun game. The story was fun and enjoyable. The way the characters were presented was really well done too. If you are an adventure or mystery fan, this game could be right up your alley. It was for me, and I hope a sequel is being spoke of.

Blacksad: Under the Skin is a beautiful title, with no twists and turns. If on the one hand there are obvious flaws, and the launch price may be too high for a title that lasts only 10 hours, you can not deny that, controller in hand, the game knows how to conquer, overshadowing anything else. The developers have managed to strike the right balance between linear narrative and interactive mechanics, putting the player in a position not only to enjoy a good story, but also to feel part of it. Paradoxically, it succeeds in everything that tries to innovate, and tends to fall into the more standard and classic elements of the game (menus, transitions, state changes, etc.) But despite everything, Blacksad is a title that leaves us with the desire to play more and more, and that makes us pray for a second chapter that will fix the problems found in this one. There is perhaps an element of uniqueness missing in the gameplay, something that in the future will make you say "It's clearly inspired by Blacksad", but it matters little, because Blacksad is after all everything it promised to be, a beautiful game.

Blacksad: Under the Skin is not only the work of maturity of a veteran studio like Pendulo Studios, but also possibly the best and most respectful adaptation of the rich world of Blacksad that is possible today

Blacksad: Under the Skin is a solid detective story aside from the technical difficulties that the game suffers from and various other mishaps. Hopefully one day, the game will be fixed and we'll be able to recommend this game with a clear conscience.

Does Blacksad: Under the Skin can stand as a worthy succesor to Telltale style adventure games after its bancrucy? Well, not quite, but it's still a good game on its own. It has some flaws like absolutely awful controls on PC keybord or not that polished quick time events but you will definatelly like it if you want to participate in a climatic and clever writed detective story with many plot twists. Even if character depiction as an animals is not necessary at all.

It took about 15 tumultuous hours to see Blacksad’s investigation through, including repeated quick-time events. Years’ worth of reading and watching detective stories didn’t go wasted as I figured out early on who must be the mastermind behind the crimes and in the end, I was really pleased that I got it right. I was happy how my story concluded but there’s a lot of variation how individual scenes or even bigger lines can turn out based on choices you have made along the journey.
