Persona 5 Royal Reviews
Persona 5 Royal is an experience that no JRPG fan should miss, pure and simple. While it's an extremely satisfying experience overall, there are some rather visible areas for improvement in Persona 6. Nevertheless, this game is a modern classic.
With a good (if shabby) heart, Persona 5 Royal wants, above all, to win our empathy for the Phantom Thieves. They've definitely earned it.
If you are a returning fan than I can also wholeheartedly recommend getting this version, there is enough new content and improvements to warrant revisiting, especially if it has been a while since you last played it.
Persona 5 Royal is possibly the best enhanced port ever made, and it helps that the original material is still as amazing as ever. This is a must play for RPG fans.
Persona 5 Royal is easily the definitive version of the fifth Persona game. Other than the obscenely high runtime, every single enhancement made to the original Persona 5 game adds to the experience in purposeful and fantastic ways.
The stellar pace and production of Persona 5 did not require adjustments and additions to its one hundred hour run time. And yet here is Persona 5 Royal, presenting that package with integral new characters as it remodels the structure, combat, and whimsical ephemera that binds them all together. Persona 5 Royal is the most articulate and realized expression of Persona's ethos, provided one has the time (and patience) to see it through.
Persona 5 Royal takes the original to the next level. Between a robust story, tons of content and plenty of character development, there is more than enough content to keep you busy. Returning fans might not see a ton of differences, but the quality of life changes and enhancements will make it interesting enough to warrant a revisit. However, newcomers have no reason to not buy since it's the definitive version that is worth every penny.
Persona 5 — and the expanded Persona 5 Royal — are both beautiful balancing acts; ones that feel eternally stressful unless you give in and enjoy them rather than aiming for the perfect run.
The gist of it is though; this is more than just a few updates slapped on top of an existing game, it's a complete rethinking of the major and minor components that made the original what it was.
Persona 5 Royal isn't just my favorite Atlus re-release, it might just be my new favorite Atlus game of all time.
The Switch has had a good run of major ports lately, and Persona 5 Royal is no exception. It may have taken a while to get here, but the journey is more than worthwhile for new and returning Thieves. And now, Smash fans will finally know who Joker really is.
Persona 5 Royal may be one of the best Switch-ports to date, and should absolutely be played by fans and newcomers alike.
Persona 5 Royal is the same masterpiece and now you can play it wherever you like.

Persona 5 Royal was a masterpiece when it launched, and two years later, it is more resonant than ever. No matter what system you play it on, you are in for a treat, and one of the greatest games ever made.
With tons of enjoyable content available in Persona 5 Royal, it's worth more than its price tag though not necessarily for those who have played Persona 5 previously. The game almost seems flawless in every part, especially in combat design and stealth mechanics, but be aware that this is a story-driven game for patient players.
A definitive version worth replaying for returning fans and new players alike, and still one of the best Japanese role-playing games this generation has produced.
Persona 5 Royal is a masterpiece. Bold, beautiful and confident in both presentation and execution, developers Atlus once again show us they are at the top of their game.
With a plethora of new features and much-needed gameplay fixes, Persona 5 Royal is an absolute joy to play for both new and returning Phantom Thieves alike
Taking a great game and making it even better, Persona 5 Royal is near perfect, and the definitive way of playing one of the greatest games ever made.
Persona 5 Royal takes an already stellar game and reinvigorates it with content that is sure to please both fans of the original and those playing the game for the first time.
