Persona 5 Royal improves on the original in almost countless ways, big and small, to deliver a top-notch RPG for new and old fans alike.
Persona 5's excesses and its thematic step backwards are issues, but the raw gameplay is so enjoyable, and the characters so vibrant and well-written, that I haven't minded having the excuse to play through the bloat again. Not by any means.
Persona 5 Royal is a great opportunity for a replay, it adds enough meat to the already full bones of Persona 5, and will give you an extra 30+ hours at least of main content
Persona 5 Royal is a near-flawless JRPG, excelling in every regard, from its characters, storytelling, gameplay, and even the stellar score.
Persona 5 Royal is one of the quintessential JRPG’s that you need to own on the Nintendo Switch. In fact, if you have the OLED model, this could easily be the best way to play amongst all consoles. If you’ve played Persona 5 Royal on the PS4, it’s the same game, but better, and is very deserving of an additional purchase.
Whether you’re a newcomer to the Persona series or have had a lot of experience playing through the games in the past, I can’t recommend Persona 5 Royal enough. It’s story, while very long is packed full of rewarding moments, complex characters and fantastic music. So much so that right after sinking in 100 hours into the game you’ll likely want to dive right back in and experience it again with the game’s new game+ mode. While it’s length may put some people off, and that’s completely ok, those that stick with it are in for a great time and will realise why I consider Persona 5 to be one of my favourite games of all time. Well done ATLUS, this is how ‘complete editions’ of game’s should be handled.
Persona 5 Royal is definitely an amazing role-playing game experience. The story is engaging and most of the characters are fun with colorful personalities to match. The battle system can be deeply engaging and almost a puzzle to figure out how to navigate. Collecting the Personas can be quite addictive as is playing with merging the Personas. This game is a must buy for any JRPG fan.
Long stretching RPGs are exactly the type of game I try to steer away from, opting instead to spend my time with shorter more compact adventures. My rule is shorter games means more games. Persona 5 Royal may well be the longest RPG I’ve experienced but that journey with the Phantom Thieves was one filled with so many countless highs it left me questioning if I should change that rule. It may have taken its sweet time but Persona 5 has finally made its way over to Switch and there’s little denying it was well worth the wait.
I have played on three separate occasions and I loved each one. There’s something truly special about the way the mechanics marry together. I love their cohesiveness. Thanks to fixes made to nonsensical calls from the vanilla version, I had a blast.
Persona 5 Royal is the pinnacle of gaming feel and style in video games, capable of blending the visual novel and JRPG genre masterfully without breaking a sweat.

Persona 5 has not only grown to become the defining entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series but also one of the most influential JRPG's of the last few years. Royal takes what is already a masterpiece and makes it better for PC gamers.
I'm serious when I say that the new ending and dungeon are some of the best in all Persona games. In addition, the fact that it is now portable really elevates it to the next level, as performance on the Nintendo Switch is surprisingly fantastic.
For those who appreciate a well-constructed story, even with occasional plot holes here and there, Persona 5 Royal is a great option in terms of dynamism and hours and hours of gameplay, with charismatic characters and a great soundtrack to pack the the shenanigans of the Phantom Thieves. Seeing a game run satisfactorily on Switch, at any time of day and without detracting from the action moments, is a huge triumph, especially when we're talking about one of the best JRPGs of all time.

Persona 5 Royal is the biggest creative leap in the series since at least Persona 3, particularly in gameplay. In addition, it has a plot that is both light and interesting, plenty of content, an exemplary interface design and a coherent audiovisual with a strong personality. The title is recommended to anyone who enjoys both JRPG and social simulation and has more than 100 hours to dedicate to it.

Persona 5 Royal is a wonderful experience on Nintendo Switch with its beautiful visuals and fun turn-based combat holding up quite well. Players can experience a captivating story on the go or at home with tons of new features unavailable in the original Persona 5. This is a must-buy for RPG fans who have yet to experience the tale of the Phantom Thieves or for those who want to relive the journey on a portable device.

It’s available day one on Xbox Game Pass and if you’re looking for a game to put over 100 hours into (conservatively) then do yourself a favor and give this one a go.
Persona 5 Royal truly captures all the promise of the original while adding so much more to the mix, and is easily one of the most rewarding, captivating, and enjoyable gaming experiences I've had in some time. Few games have ever hooked me as much as Persona 5 Royal, and if you weren't sold the first time around, do yourself a favor and give Royal a chance to floor you, because it most certainly will.
