Speaking Simulator is a fun idea that remained best on paper.

Like its protagonist, Speaking Simulator starts off okay but later reveals itself to be a janky mess upon further inspection.

Speaking Simulator is a great idea delivered in mostly the right way. It throws its android protagonist into some brilliantly awkward situations and, once you've unlocked his entire repertoire of facial movements, things get pleasingly hectic. However, a lack of polish with regards to the controls, zero replayability, a janky combo system and the fact you don't actually seem to be able to fail a level all conspire to hold it back from being really easy to recommend.

Much like the games it takes inspiration from, Speaking Simulator definitely isn’t for everyone. It’s a short physics-based romp filled with slapstick quality and well-written humour that’s bound to make anyone laugh regardless of whether you’re playing or watching. Despite its short runtime and minimal replay value, if Speaking Simulator piques your interest I implore you to give it a go, it’s as entertaining as it looks, but don’t expect anything much deeper than that.

Speaking Simulator does a great job at providing comedic dialogue and a diverse selection of situations that need conversing, but overall the game falls short. The upgrade system was a welcomed addition but didn't change my perception after finishing the game. If you are willing to accept the fact that you will likely only get a few hours of enjoyment out of this title, then this is something to consider for those looking for comedic fun.

Unfortunately the novelty wears off far too quickly and you're left with a shame pile title likely to keep collecting dust, unless you're really in to Katy from HR.

When that's allowed to be the focus, laughter courses through its circuitry. Sometimes the wiring of this robot obscures the best parts, though, as the dizzying amounts of QWOP-esque systems draw the focus off the heart and onto the brain, where the controls and mechanics reside

Speaking Simulator is not only hilarious; it also offers clever gameplay that'll compel you to retry scenarios over and over again.

This is one of those titles that is likely to divide people firmly between the lovers and the haters, without a whole lot in between...

Admittedly, Speaking Simulator is fun, but it doesn't shine as bright as I'd hoped. After the first levels in which we unlock the additional features the game becomes dull and monotonous and above all never goes off the tracks set. The different scenarios proposed to narrate our rise to power are well thought out but do not represent a growing challenge (ok humans are basically stupid) and we'll have to almost commit ourselves to fail a mission and see the various technical failures suffered by the robot. In short, the title lends itself very well to a dull evening with friends or for a light streaming on your channel but once the 10 levels are over it doesn't have a high replayability. It would have been nice to have at least one free mode where we can try to create our speeches or maybe more options to choose from during the levels.

Speaking Simulator does exactly what it promises in its name. And it brings it all with a bunch of crazy events and funny dialogues. When it comes to gameplay though, it's very straightforward, and it all takes about 2 hours to finish.

Speaking Simulator can get a bit complicated, but the goofy writing and strange yet fun gameplay make it a weird but worthwhile game. It can be a tad repetitive, but if you’re looking for a silly and fun time, Speaking Simulator is indeed for you.

If you want to play a non-serious “simulator,” go play Goat Simulator. As crazy as that game is, you can actually get some entertainment out of it, and it somehow comes closer to simulating what being a goat might be like than this game comes to actually simulating speaking.
