It's the kind of undemanding, uplifting experience many of us could use right now.

Snakeybus will bring a smile to your face, which in this day and age, is a very welcome thing. Good wholesome score-attack arcade driving combined with some hilariously weird but subtle comedy elements, Snakeybus is worth inviting into your home.

While it's got problems, SnakeyBus remains a fun game with one of the more creative ideas I've seen lately.

All in all, Snakeybus is a fine arcade experience. Featuring a unique and fantastically fun take on a classic game, the Switch port is perfect to enjoy in small bursts. Though lacking the multiplayer mayhem of its PC counterpart, there's still enough here to warrant the price of entry.

The soundtrack is mellow like that lo-fi hip hop beats to study to YouTube channel, but it becomes redundant quickly. Levels are a bright spot in their diversity in both the locales and how well each of them has their own sense of verticality/layering of lanes to drive in. If you're looking for a breezy unique twist on a classic game, Snakeybus can provide a few hours of mild humor.

When it comes to arcade-inspired fun, Snakeybus is definitely a fantastic game but it falls a little flat once the novelty wears off.

So is it worth a purchase? Well it depends on what you’re looking for. If you fancy something that can fill that half hour before dinner or when you need a palate cleanser after your latest epic then sure, it’s a great fit! It’s easy to lose yourself in the simple gameplay this provides but it’s far from a main course.

If you're going to want to make a splash in the eShop sometimes you just need to go for it with an off-center idea and maybe a catchy name...

This bus journey offers little thrills and a whole lot of frustration. Much like a normal bus journey then, I suppose.

Snakeybus‘ gameplay loop is so fun that, even though it’s infested with bugs and glitches, I couldn’t stop playing it. I would obviously prefer for Stovetop to come up with a patch to fix its many issues, but I’m still having a blast with it, regardless of its problems.

Snakeybus is a rather interesting concept that’s perhaps a bit too simplistic for its own good and becomes very repetitive after awhile.

We are in front of a mixture of buses, Crazy Taxi, and the game of the snake, which could not have been better fit. With a refined game core, we will sting with our friends to reach a greater number of bus cars or to hold as long as possible in each level.

Snakeybus offers a unique gameplay concept that’s silly and fun, but there’s no denying that its novel approach can grow a little repetitive fast. It’s one of those games that’s fun to laugh at for a bit with your friends, but then gets forgotten quickly – no wonder it was so big on YouTube. Still, despite this, it’s a mixture of Snake and Crazy Taxi… that alone will be enough to appeal to a lot of gamers. Snakeybus certainly does have its fun moments, but don’t expect the enjoyment to last much longer than a couple of hours.

In the 90s, Nokia introduced the world to the decades-old concept of Snake. On brick-like cell phones, people navigated a “snake” around a pixelated screen to eat and grow without running into itself like it was in Gemini Man. Since then the game has evolved and inspired new games to blossom. One such game is Snakeybus.
