A Fold Apart Reviews
There's one thing I am really torn up about with this game. On one hand, I want more puzzles. They were challenging but not so tough that I ever found myself frustrated or searching the internet for answers. That said, I don't think that I would have enjoyed dragging out the story. It was already such an emotional rollercoaster, and stretching it out further would dishonor the struggle of these two characters. A Fold Apart is a near-perfect indie game and one every person with a beating heart should experience.
A Fold Apart brings you into a personal and deep story. It's a story that invites you into a deep and meaningful relationship between two characters. It's a game that's real, and that's why I love it.
A Fold Apart is the sort of game that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
A must-play, totally unique puzzle game.
A Fold Apart is about hope and how love can get us through even the toughest of times. In that way, it's timeless.
A short tale of long distance, A Fold Apart takes you on a journey of emotional turbulence. Easy to follow, easy to play, and easy to fall in love with. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, and I can only hope others will give it the chance it so sorely deserves.
As a whole, it was a beautifully presented experience in human relationships in a time where it’s easy to feel disconnected from each other, whether that’s due to physical distance or other less tangible barriers.
A Fold Apart is a stellar story-driven game with intuitive new mechanics and fun puzzles to solve.
A Fold Apart is short and pricey, for sure, but the few hours it offers are an arresting blend of devious puzzling and heart-rending storytelling. Infinitely more so if you've been in a long-distance relationship.
It may not have the flashiest or most exhilarating gameplay, but A Fold Apart achieves almost everything it sets out to do, which is to truly put you in the shoes of someone in love — and someone in pain.
A Fold Apart was a charming gaming experience with a story true to what being in a long-distance relationship can be like. I love its art style and graphics and its unique way of doing puzzles. I also loved the unexpected feature to choose the gender of your characters.
Minor technical and control issues aside, A Fold Apart is a game we won't soon forget and comes easy to recommend.
A Fold Apart is full of emotion and heart that you can feel in the story. Additionally, the story can help people understand what their significant others go through when miscommunication happens. That empathy-building is to be commended. While the game isn’t perfect, it is charming and makes for a relaxing playthrough, especially as some are separated from their partners while the world is in self-quarantine.
A Fold Apart stands apart from its indie puzzler peers thanks to a heartwarming story and some truly innovative paper riddles.
A Fold Apart is a beautiful intersection of narrative storytelling and interesting gaming mechanic. Whether you enjoy solving puzzles, exploring emotional stories, or both, A Fold Apart is for you. Heck, if you are just looking for something good to play and don’t know what to grab next, prioritize A Fold Apart.
Despite my disappointment with the ending message, everything else was so delightful about A Fold Apart that I had trouble finding fault with the title aside from that. Cute and colorful graphics with relaxing challenges made A Fold Apart a fun little puzzle game to tear through in one sitting, the mechanic utilized perfectly throughout.
When looking at an eShop full of puzzlers and story-based experiences it can be difficult to separate the merely average from the exceptional...
Although A Fold Apart is a short and light game, the strong emotional involvement it transmits is undeniable and many could easily identify with the characters of this title.

Pair that with beautifully-crafted environments, vibrant colors, and a compelling story and you have a game that plays and looks great. If the performance was on point, this would have been one of the premier puzzle experiences in the first half of 2020. Still, A Fold Apart is one to pick up and play if you can look past the framerate issues.
A Fold Apart is a short but interesting game about long-distance relationships. It succeeds in delivering its message with creative and engaging gameplay mechanics about folding, rotating, and seeing the page from different perspectives. Its short playtime alongside some frustrating moments in the gameplay prevents this game from being perfect; nevertheless, it’s worth playing.
