Desperados III Reviews
Sneak instead of shoot: Desperados III is surprisingly restrained with shoot-outs and classic Wild West action. The bottom line is that it takes over too many features from Shadow Tactics and thus distances itself quite a bit from the core of the template - but it's still really good real-time tactics that will still be fun in 2020.

I struggle to find much negative to say about the game as a whole, even after it deleted several hours worth of hard won levels. Had it happened more than once, I’d be frustrated beyond belief, but considering how much I enjoyed everything else, I can forgive one mishap.
Desperados 3 is about 30 hours from start to finish (depending on how you play) and graphically it looks beautiful. The mix of stealth and puzzle elements keep the gameplay fresh and exciting.
Desperados III doesn’t have a groundbreaking plot or outstanding graphics. Still, its gameplay mechanics end up making it one of the best tactical campaigns that I’ve ever played in a while. I had a blast getting the most out of each character’s unique skillset even during some of the more difficult missions.
Desperados 3 may be a sometimes nerve-wracking title for many players, but personally I loved the substantial challenge level even at the lowest difficulty. Finishing a level section after a series of failed attempts gives a unique satisfaction. One criticism I feel I have to make is about how our characters will often throw themselves into enemies or leave their buddies behind. Finally the absence of Italian dubbing, especially after the first chapter boasted voices like Claudio Moneta and Emanuela Pacotto, is a real blow to the heart but surely the Texas accent of the characters is the icing on the cake.

Well howdy, partner, I am Woody, and this is the Wild West… Oops, wrong game. Welcome to the Wild West and get ready to go up against bandits and corrupt businessmen as you fight through the world of western times.
Desperados III is simply one of the best stealth games can play right now.
This game comes with the highest of recommendations – if you see Desperados III, be sure to grab it – it’s absolutely well worth it!
A blast from de past.

Desperados III builds heavily upon Mimimi Games “Shadow Tactics” experience to deliver one of the best “soft reboots” I’ve seen in a long while. It’s unrelentless and both charming varied enough to keep you going. It knows how to treat “failure” not as a bad thing, but only a minor setback. Heavily recommended for stealth fans.

Desperados III is the kind of game that prioritizes fun above all else, and it manages to do so without sacrificing the oomph of its story or depth of its mechanics.
Desperados III is a title based on the classic video game Commands, with a great strategic component and freedom of movement. Charismatic characters, good story, fun and engaging gameplay and many hours of gameplay.

Desperados III offers a brilliant real-time tactical Western experience that manages to feel intuitive and fun to play on console. It does have a few things that annoyed me here and there, mostly with the trial-and-error elements of the game and some of the overly-challenging set pieces, but they weren’t enough to ruin my time with what is otherwise a fun and satisfyingly strategic Wild West romp.
Desperados III is a COMBAT PUZZLE SOLVER played from an isometric perspective. In other words, you see everything from above and can freely angle around your view. The game has 16 missions, 5 different characters, each one with their own set of abilities, and a lot of enemies to kill without being seen. This is not a game to go mayhem with guns and knives blazing. YOU WILL THINK BEFORE YOU ACT. Identify enemy patterns, calculate timings, analyze environments, learn characters’ strengths... You will be constantly juggling these variables to complete the missions’ objectives. Think of yourself as a coach in the sidelines of the action. But, you have players that will do exactly what you ask. You find fun on Desperados III not by shooting bullets, but by setting the conditions of how, when, and where they will be shot.
Desperados III is a cowboy game with a difference, in that stealth wins out over shooting. A thinking mans western, Desperados III oozes charm, and once you get to grips with its elegant controls and brilliant showdown mode, you will be pulling off some dazzling set pieces. A great entry point if you’re new to the genre and series.
Desperados 3 is a sensational game that boasts challenging game design that is as equally rewarding as it is frustrating. With an engaging story, interesting characters, and a great setting, it’s easy to recommend this game to just about everyone
