The return of Hades is a true feast, and a great opportunity for PlayStation and Xbox players to dive deep into the waters of River Styx. The escape from the underworld itself is an impossible feat, but it's sure as hell worth a try.

Hades is an absolutely stellar experience that will keep you hooked in from the beginning, with a beautiful visual design and score, not to mention an excellent narrative and intricate gameplay that will keep you coming back again and again for just one more run.
Given the perfect track record of Supergiant Games, Haded was simply fated to became a great little gem of it's genre, but no one would have thought that this game can go head to head with this year's major AAA releases. What we have here is a fully realized, well thought out project, one that you can sink your time into no matter what you prefer - a strong narrative adventure or a hardcore gameplay experience.

Hades is an exhilarating experience that meshes its various systems together in a way that's truly special. Zagreus' journey to escape from his father's kingdom is a memorable one full of brilliant moments, and this game is a must-have for fans of roguelikes or action games with brutal difficulty like the Dark Souls series.
Hades stands not only as the finest, most well-crafted game from the exceedingly talented developers at Supergiant but as one of the pinnacles of the genre. If you never looked at rogue-likes seriously before due to differences in personal tastes and what you believe that they represent, this might be the very title to change your mind.
Hades is a hell of a good time. It’s tight and responsive, with vast depth beyond the surface levels you’ll need to technically complete it. It looks great, sounds better, and does a masterful job of keeping you moving forward in both story and mechanics. Hades is without doubt one of the best roguelite games to date, a new high point for Supergiant Games, and a dark horse contender for game of the year lists this fall.
Hades is an exceptional game. It's got a fun gameplay loop, incredible visual design, good animations and a ton of story and dialogue (and it's all voice acted!). Definitely Supergiant's best game to date, and a must-play both for roguelike fans and newcomers to the genre.

Hades is near perfect, offering exactly what you expect and yet somehow exceeding your wildest expectations. From the art design to the gameplay to the narrative, Hades is proof of the incredible creative power that SuperGiant Games have been honing for the last nine years.
Action roguelikes is a genre seeing a bit of a surge of new entires lately, and Hades is as good or better as anything you will find in that field. It offers an overall experience in storytelling and gameplay that is top-notch regardless of genre. It's this incredibly unique type of game and play loop that turns your every failure and death into a reward of unlocking more story, injecting more humor, and inviting you to take a stab at one more run. It's won numerous game of the year awards on PC, and there is no reason for those accolades to stop with the port to consoles. Just don't forget to give Cerebus a pet on your way to the next run.
Hades was an undisputed masterpiece eleven months ago on PC and Nintendo Switch, and it is also confirmed as such in PlayStation and Xbox format. The edition intended for the Sony and Microsoft platforms is in all ways identical to the original, with just appreciable improvements in terms of resolution on the most recent machines, where the glance of 4K is noticeable in exalting the theatrical staging of an ancient Greece very different from the canons and full of personality.

It’s a tough genre piece, but it’s one where dying feels like progress. The more escapes you attempt, the more story you unravel as your relationships with these characters develop. Reaching the end of a run after levelling up your upgrades and finding that right combination of boons is the perfect sense of accomplishment.
Hades is one of the more solid games you will find on Xbox. Undoubtedly, this summer's Xbox Game Pass must have for all subscribers.

Beautifully crafted, satisfying to play and over-flowing with content, Hades is a phenomenal video game that continues to impress long after you complete your first run.
I’m not sure if Hades is my absolute favorite Supergiant Games release. Transistor remains criminally underrated. Hades, however, is the one I’ve spent the most time playing and thinking about. It’s the rare roguelite that convinces me of the genre’s merits. Hades masterfully nails its minute-to-minute mechanics alongside the larger character and story progression. I didn’t want to love Hades, but still loved it. I love looking at, fighting in, and absorbing more of this underworld that never stops. So, if you come in with an even slightly more open mind, chances are you’ll love it even more.
Hades is one of the best roguelites of all time and a hot contender for the title “Game of the Year 2020”.

Hades is not only one of the best roguelites on the market today, but it's also one of the best games of the year -- if not the best. Supergiant Games, firing on all cylinders, has given us a wealth of content to explore, characters to meet, and challenges to overcome. If you're not a fan of roguelites, this one could easily change your mind.
Supergiant Games has reached a new pinnacle of its craft with Hades, and I can now count the number of rogue-like games I enjoy on one finger. Even pushing to get through it for this review, I never felt bored or frustrated. The game doesn't have a single real flaw. It's not the perfect game for every single gamer, but if you enjoy an experience that rewards skill and has an amazing story, spot-on voice acting, beautiful music, and - I can't emphasize this enough - the ability to pet Cerberus, Hound of the Underworld, as many times as you want, then it's definitely the game for you.
Hades is an amazing game. Supergiant Games has proven once again that they are capable of creating an addictive experience with a great story and gameplay.

Hades feels like a small, but masterful step forward for the roguelite genre as a whole. Maybe there really is no escape from the Underworld, but that’s just fine by me; this is a cycle I don’t want to end.
