Overall, despite lacking in a few elements, Super Mario Bros. 35 has the standard Nintendo nostalgic quality with an inventive twist.

The game is fun and an interesting take on a sempiternal classic, but unfortunately is not deep as we wished.

The classic Super Mario Bros. is getting refreshed because of this game. Even though the core gameplay remains unchanged, Super Mario Bros. 35 create some new multiplayer strategies. But those strategies doesn't always make you feel happy or enjoyable.

Super Mario Bros. 35 offers a fun and challenging experience. Playing against enemies on the screen and at the same time having to choose strategies to defeat other players makes the proposal extremely complex without being stressful. Despite the repetitive scheme, I believe that it has the potential to continue attracting a large audience, both because of the character's popularity and because of the special events that make the game shine even more.

Super Mario Bros. 35 is extremely addictive to keep playing over and over, trying to get that top spot no matter how long it takes.

EXCELLENT - It’s you against 34 other Marios in a quest to be last plumber standing. With plenty of risk/reward gameplay and an exciting twist on a tried-and-true formula, this limited time experience shouldn’t be missed. What are you still doing reading this? Combining battle royale with classic Mario gameplay, Super Mario Bros. 35 is an interesting and fresh idea that could use some more depth.

Super Mario Bros. 35 cleverly remixes the Italian plumber's 2D platforming formula, even though some late-game moments drag on.

Super Mario Bros. 35 is a flawed game in some ways while offering something new and unique and a whole lot of fun in others.

Super Mario Bros. 35 is stressful, strategic, and quite a bit of fun, but its repetitive nature makes it feel a little less super after a while.

If you liked Tetris 99, but like me, aren’t good at Tetris, this may be a lot more your speed. Super Mario Bros. 35 is fluent and responsive, but is missing some components that have made Tetris 99 more than just a novelty and turned it into something people play consistently. At the end of the day, if there are no quality of life updates to Super Mario Bros. 35, the player base may leave before the match end date anyways.

There's plenty to criticize, but Super Mario Bros. 35 is a free download, so give it a shot. I've played many rounds already and will jump into plenty more until that fated March 2021 eShop removal death date. Hopefully Nintendo has a change of heart like it did with Jump Rope Challenge and updates the game to address some of its shortcomings: because it has even more potential than a temporary flight of fancy.

Lifting the Tetris 99 template wholesale, Super Mario Bros. 35 is a fun and accessible spin on the battle royale, but it's one that's hampered by a lack of clarity over its multiplayer mechanics. Its fresh new player base also leads to endless trips through 1-1 and gruelling marathons instead of tense battles to be the last Mario standing.

No one suspected they needed Tetris 99, yet we all know how it turned out. Just as no one probably felt the need for a competitive Super Mario Bros. for thirty-five users; but now it's on the eShop, free for all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, and it's going to be really hard to do without it.

It still remains fun on some level, because Super Mario Bros. is fun, and battle royale games are fun. But some poorly thought out decisions lead to this hobbled from reaching the potential that a Mario battle royale game might otherwise be able to achieve.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the most famous video game of all time, Nintendo gives Mario a totally fresh twist in Super Mario Bros 35. This game has been re-released and ported nearly a dozen times in the past, so is this version really anything special? Mamma mia, is it ever!

A nice way to celebrate an all-time classic, Super Mario Bros. 35 succesfully implements some kind of battle royale using a very familiar gameplay.

It’s a me ….. wait … 35 Marios? You are not misreading that, or the title. This is Super Mario Bros. 35, a game that was announced and subsequently released to coincide with the world’s most famous plumber’s 35th anniversary. Super Mario 35 is fun and a novel idea, but it falls short with its main battle mechanic feeling like an afterthought during play. The extra enemies on screen add some fun tension to this ultimate classic, up until the late game stagnates and stalemates.
