If you’re a Ride addict then know that the next-gen version of Ride 4 will be fine after a patch or two, but for now you don’t need to race out and get it.

Outside of its great use of the DualSense, RIDE 4 is a frustrating and disappointing experience. The lack of a meaningful tutorial, an aggravatingly difficult and boring campaign mode, the absence of local multiplayer, and the greedy credit system all equate to a game that feels like it was rushed for people hungry to get a next-gen motorcycle experience. RIDE 4 feels like a tech demo of the DualSense and nothing more. For an immersive racing experience on PS5, it is better to switch gears and look forward to Gran Turismo 7.

ide 4 is not the must-own motorcycle racing game for your brand new PS5 due to its high barrier of entry and non-user friendly systems. The PS5 upgrades might be appreciated by returning fans of the last-gen version, but it doesn’t warrant the headache these races induce on the player. From my experience, I was locked out of any fun this game might have offered. As such, I really can’t recommend Ride 4 to anyone.

Ride 4 shows a lot of passion for motorsports and the bikes but not for the game itself. A solid technical performance is shattered by a useless AI. Ride 4 might be the best choice for a motorbike simulation on consoles - but just because any competition is missing.

Ride 4 is very complex motorbike racing game with lot of content and dynamic weather and day/time system. But riding system is bit odd, AI is very limited and game is also in some moments too difficult.

For series' veterans, RIDE 4 will be an enjoyable experience, but for newcomers, there will be times where it will feel like the game won't actually let you play it.

This racing simulator isn't for the faint at heart. Without any real introduction or soft landing, you're expected to drive like a pro and be able to drive near-perfect laps. Without that, you're locked out of the main course, the career mode, and have to resort to riding single tracks. AI is hit-or-miss and races very aggressively. Definitely not a game for beginners or those looking for an arcade racer.

Ride 4 is as niche as a game can get and I respect its commitment to providing enthusiasts with the most hardcore of simulated racing experiences. I expect to see fans of the franchise welcome this new entry with open arms, especially if they’re on the PlayStation 5, and dig deep into its features and collection of real-world vehicles.

Ride 4 is definitely the best game of the franchise but also one of the best motorbike simulation racing games we have seen until today.

Robust customization options and solid gameplay mechanics ensure it's definitely a game worth coming back to again and again, in spite of some flaws that hold it back from being the ultimate biking experience.

Ride 4 is the motorcycle equivalent to Gran Turismo, for better or worse. It features a lot of content, every single kind of motorbike you can imagine, from Harleys to Ducatis, tons of racetracks, and lots of different events to partake in. When it comes to bang for your buck, it sure delivers. But when it comes to being actually fun to play, it misses the mark.

Ride 4 offers a tonne of content for those who itching for a deep dive into an expansive career mode. Race all across the world by winning licenses to open up access into better and more advanced events. Gain affinity with various bikes and manufacturers on the way to becoming the greatest rider. However, a weak online mode, a lack of other real features outside of the career mode and having a steep learning curve for beginners prevents Ride 4 from being the complete package. With plenty of bikes on offer, and upgrades on both the 'stock' and 'racing' side of things to allow for vast improvements over the troublesome AI, this is one of the better digital biking experiences out there.

Ride 4 is definitely a niche game, not only because of the theme, but because of the level of technical demands it proposes. Visually, one of the best of its kind, it brings a lot of content for lovers of the two wheels, but with a flawed artificial intelligence and a cruel learning curve, it is recommended only for specialists, or at least, for the most patient.

Another typical racing game from Milestone, with rich content, but without bigger news.

Milestone's newest game is as good as Ride 3! There are a lot of good features and elements in Ride 4. Motorcycles models, customization, multiple of vehicles, challenging handling and etc make Ride 4 a good game. With all these good aspects, the game is not perfect yet because of some gameplay and technical issues that may be bother you. By the way if you like to control a motorcycle and race with it, you can enjoy Ride 4 and accept some of its problems.

Ride 4 does simulation motorcycle racing incredibly well. Its collection of licensed bikes and ways to tweak them is unparalleled. However, basic game modes, rigid progression, dry presentation, and a lack of accessibility for new players stops it from reaching the heights of other sim racers on the market.

Did Milestone want to release his Ride 4 absolutely before the end of the year in order to finish the PS4 / Xbox One cycle? No one will probably have the answer in the near future. Still, if the game is improving well on technical aspects (graphics, modeling and AI) it has lost all the mood that its previous opus had managed to generate. It is now a game of motorcycles on circuits that merges into the category.

In many ways, Ride 4 gets its racing simulation so right. The intricate detail of the bikes themselves and the tinkering you can do with them is a testament to that. Unfortunately, the attempt to make its A.I. riders more realistic results in an unwanted level of unpredictability that makes an already challenging experience tougher than it should be.

The crux of Ride 4 clearly hangs in the gameplay. Veterans of the franchise and of motorsports will be engrossed with the latest entry in the series. Edging closer and closer to its real-life counterpart, the game is truly the finest rendition of the sport. Featuring a fleshed out career mode, which has choice at the forefront, will please fans who will be eager to do multiple playthroughs.

Motorcycle fans will gorge themselves on Ride 4's 250+ obsessively detailed motorcycles and one of the best track lists to be found in a modern racing game, but the pizzaz needed to keep playing is sadly missing and the career gameplay can be duller than counting your own eyebrow hairs.
