Resident Evil Village is a phenomenal game. It manages to reinvent itself in some new creative ways while still delivering one of the most explosive and surprising experiences in the series.
Resident Evil Village is a good game with a lot of opportunity to have been a great game. And yet, for as many criticisms as I have, it was an experience that I was happy to play through a second time immediately after finishing the first. The new setting, creatures, villains, and story are engaging additions to the Resident Evil canon, even if the gameplay doesn't seem to have evolved all that much and the scares have been pulled back. It's still a fun romp in a new setting with new monsters; a great and fitting piece of the broader series that makes me excited to see where it's all headed next.
Resident Evil Village is an instant classic, a solid basis for the franchise's future and the perfect mixture between the beloved game structure of Resident Evil 4 and the modern take on franchise reinvented by Resident Evil 7.

Resident Evil: Village is going to make fans of the franchise happy, especially those who aren’t cowards like me. But even if you also find yourself shying away from horror, I’d encourage you to screw your courage to the sticking place and consider a look at Capcom’s latest survival horror stunner.
Resident Evil Village is a reference to the horror genre and an important milestone for the series in its 25th anniversary celebrations. Capcom first-person gameplay remains a wise decision, bringing gameplay and storytelling together in an excellent way. The main inspiration is the older brother, Resident Evil 4, with mechanics, characters and quality that make Village a kind of spiritual successor to one of the most revered games in the franchise. A must-have title for Resident Evil fans.

Capcom gives us the definitive Resident Evil to celebrate the saga's 25th anniversary. Not for being the best, not for being the most faithful to the roots, not for being the one that will cause the greatest impact in the industry and probably not for being the one that will occupy the most special place in the hearts of the players. , but yes for being a hilarious, varied, intense title, with a great sense of rhythm and, most important of all, for being the Resident Evil that has finally been able to combine in a balanced and harmonious way all the aspects that it saga has explored throughout its history.

Built like a Disneyland of horror tropes and gore, the eponymous village funnels you toward gory sights and sounds, with Ethan circling a drain of carnage.
Resident Evil Village raises the bar ever so slightly, but just enough for Capcom to maintain its grip in AAA survival horror experiences. For players, it might be hard to loosen their hands from the controller.

Resident Evil Village tastes new while still exuding the aromas of its essence. It manages to explore terror through new settings while compiling different approaches to build a videogame that, while tending towards action, does not forget the puzzle, exploration and tension typical of the saga. Resident Evil Village is an uneven anthology of horror movie send-ups. Sometimes it offers a truly exciting vision of the series’ future with imaginative world-building and rewarding exploration. Other times, it’s a fairly run-of-the-mill shooter that struggles to provide any real stakes or tension. Those two tones are often at odds with one another, highlighting all of the franchise’s best and worst instincts in one eclectic package. Chalk it up to a quarter-life crisis.

Resident Evil Village is a crown jewel in this ever-evolving series. The developers have combined elements from the two most prominent installments – 4 and 7 and added lots of new, interesting ideas. Then, they topped all this with a thick sauce of fantastic art direction and, behold! We got one of the best Resident Evil games and survival horrors in general.
