Scarf is a nice if not particularly original idea, disappointingly executed on almost all fronts.

A narrative adventure that succeeds in a truly remarkable feat: inserting good and not repetitive environmental puzzles into the adventure while keeping the experience simple and approachable. A simple but solid game, not too long and not too short, that only fails in not being able to best tell its story. SCARF remains a product that will make you spend 4-5 pleasant hours, and it's enough.

Scarf offers a short and sweet platforming experience. It's perfectly enjoyable to play, but you'll likely be left wanting more when the credits roll.

Short but sweet, Scarf is an intriguing, enjoyable little game for most of its runtime.

Scarf doesn't brave new platforming territory, but platforming newbies will appreciate its forgiving nature, and it tells an interesting and often dark story in an engaging way.

Scarf doesn't try to reinvent anything, but its pace, its art direction and its world are calming, welcoming and entertaining.

Scarf certainly is an enjoyable experience; its combination of engaging story and strong environments are enough to keep the player absorbed for its four hour campaign. But due to its commonplace gameplay, it doesn't do enough to make it a true standout in the genre. But regardless of its issues, Scarf is for those wanting a leisurely and fantastical escape from the troubles of the world; something we could all use from time to time.

SCARF is a singer without a voice and a dancer without legs. There were tons of things that could have been great within it, but none of them were capitalised on, and it felt like there weren't enough resources spent on where it mattered.

Scarf is a beautiful and short ethereal experience with a special atmosphere, jumping and simple object-based puzzles. Such a pleasant little indie gem that will last an evening or two.

Aside from the shortage of optimization, the short game time and the price, which I found a little high accordingly; Scarf was a game that I thought could be played at least twice with good storytelling and nice puzzles, albeit in small numbers.

The problem is that Scarf doesn’t deliver on the platforming side and, unlike the fantastic Journey, Scarf never reaches that satisfying conclusion where all those small introspective and grand sweeping moments add up to a crescendo that sticks with you even after you stop playing. Instead, Scarf falls a little flat and, while there is a lot of fun to be had, it doesn’t quite stand up to those games that inspired it.

Scarf is a beautiful puzzle-platformer that packs a lot of meaning in a small package, but only to those willing to explore all of its gorgeous locales.

Scarf is an enjoyable 3D puzzle platformer with a low difficulty but a very big heart. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a casual game to enjoy with minimal stress. A short experience that doesn’t outstay is welcome. The only mild niggle I had is some of the formulas to the puzzles became a touch familiar over time. Still, it’s a very cute game with a nice relaxing soundtrack (another one to add to the list on Steam). Whenever I put on my scarf while I’m out and about this winter it will be hard for me not to think there’s a hidden dragon spirit inside it.

SCARF is a fun 3D platform game where we will get into the shoes of a hero and his magic scarf with the aim of recovering the various souls that are scattered throughout the different worlds. With a proposal very similar to Rime and a more than remarkable artistic section, SCARF will invite us to delve into Hyke's adventure.

Is Scarf a good game then? It’s certainly not terrible. I’d suggest it might even get lost in the shuffle that is the end-of-year period, which it doesn’t deserve. The game has a great foundation for puzzle design blended with platforming and exploration. Otherwise, the shortcomings with the game’s story aren’t intrusive enough for it to be a massive problem. It’s a solid little thing to spend a couple of evenings with.

Even as the final moments occurred, which also felt like it came out of nowhere, it didn't feel like the player was a hero. Given the wonderful mechanics, design, personality, and narrative intentions of Scarf, the confusing storytelling is unfortunate but, thankfully, doesn't make the game any less enjoyable. While it's never fun to push story to the sidelines, doing so will let players get lost in Scarf's beautiful worlds and have an absolute blast during its short but sweet playtime.

Scarf is a good game, but not one that left an impression. I played it, enjoyed it while it lasted, but once I was done with it, all I could think about is that I would have enjoyed it a lot more three years ago, back when it was first announced, and back when 3D indie plaftormers were still a niche, a breath of fresh air in the market.
