Uncharted: Legacy of the Thieves presents an even more fluid experience of the latest adventures in the franchise on PS5 with new graphics modes, delivering 4K resolution and reaching 60 or 120fps, depending on the mode selected. Adaptation to DualSense features and 3D audio also guarantee an even greater immersion in titles. Unfortunately, some decisions seem to focus more on new players, which dampens the collection's shine.

The adventure does ultimately end up being a worthwhile one, with interesting characters, an incredible art style, and great music. But if there were more to the gameplay, the game – and its world – could have offered so much more.

Its shortcomings are exposed in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which lacks a bit of polish. And while support for ultra-wide displays and native 4K 60fps appear mouthwatering, I'm not sure that will be enough to draw in those who have already experienced these games on PS4 or PS5 for a second helping.

Rather than a new Uncharted game then, what's more likely (unfortunately) is a PS5 version of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, the PS4 remaster of the first three Uncharted PS3 titles. A studio like Naughty Dog shouldn't be ground down into churning remasters of its old games — it should be looking ahead to new entries or new IP. But this is just the world we live in.

The bundled games are undeniably great, their enhancements solid — but nonetheless, these are old titles pulled off the shelf and given a fresh coat of varnish, and at an additional cost to those who’ve already purchased them at that. Timed for the onset of a whole bunch of new and engrossing titles in February 2022, take a second and reflect before you drop cash on this one. There’s plenty to play right now.

A lack of proper HDR and the inability to cap the framerate above 30 FPS leaves this otherwise excellent collection feeling a bit mishandled compared to the PlayStation 5 version.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC works just as intended. It’s another solid Sony first-party port, even if Uncharted 4's writing isn't aging particularly well. We can only recommend the collection with some caveats. PC players will be missing out on the whole Nathan Drake saga, and absent multiplayer modes make this something that we can only recommend to those willing to experience it with those particular asterisks.

Legacy of Thieves is just in an odd place. Its arrival is clearly well-timed for Tom Holland’s cinematic iteration of the franchise but rarely offers much to either intrigued players or Uncharted fans. If you’re new to the series, you’ll likely be playing the first games through backward compatibility with the Nathan Drake Collection of remasters first and foremost, and fans are already aware of Nathan’s story. That being said, Legacy of Thieves is still a great duo of games. Both A Thief’s End and Lost Legacy are superbly written, narrative-focused, and most importantly, entertaining games which offer some of the best action and plots that PlayStation has seen throughout its history

Two of the latest Uncharted games were brought to the PS5 (and later PC) with graphical improvements and DualSense support. Playing these games in 4K with HDR is a marvel. Sony has also finally figured out how to easily incorporate progress from the PS4 versions. However, the price structure is a mess and Sony really should sort that out, especially when the competition has made that so easy.

While it's not overly surprising to see PlayStation migrate two of its biggest last gen titles to the PS5 and slap a new entry fee on the front, it's also not an overly exciting end product. There's merit in playing these beloved and bombastic blockbuster hits in an eye-searing new fidelity but the weight of this package isn't quite worth the gold.

Without the understanding of the first three games not being on PC, a lot is lost for newcomers. That said, having the two most recent UNCHARTED games on PC is worth any trade-offs, due to being so gorgeous and refined. The $50 pricetag is a bit steep for five to six year old games that doesn’t include the multiplayer component. All-in-all this is a fantastic collection, a duology of Sony’s best action-adventure games from the PlayStation 4 era that don’t look or act like their age. UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection is nearly thirty hours of cinematic action and you’ll wish it wasn’t over so soon.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection contains the last two Uncharted games, remastered for the PlayStation 5. Both games know a strong and exciting story. The games also plays great and are a must-have for the real adventurer. The better visuals mode is accompanied by a lower number of frames per second. The original games were beautiful from themselves and the Remaster offers little added value for the fan. For those who already had the game, it may not be worth the money and feels the remake something on the early side. The newcomer, on the other hand, has to do with a real must. A great bundle for those who still have to play the games.

For what's here, they are fantastic games that look and play even better than before; it's just a pity there isn't something more here to make the package feel like more than a timed release for the upcoming movie.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is an okay option for those getting into Uncharted for the first time with the latest games on the PS5. I replayed the new versions of both titles and was reminded how entertaining they are, not only to the player, but to those fortunate enough to be spectating.

Despite the lack of ray tracing and the absence of Uncharted 4‘s beloved multiplayer, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is still an impressive PS5 port, providing the best overall performance. However, the $49.99 price point doesn’t really sit well with me; such that the PS4 versions of both games, which costs about only $10 each at retail, still look and play great.

The indifferent upgrade to DualSense and the absence of multiplayer show that the remaster is aimed mainly at players who were not lucky enough to enjoy one of the top games of the previous generation.

Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy look better than ever. Playing them at 60 frames per second is a treat and the basic implementation of the DualSense haptics On the other hand, these details are perhaps insufficient to justify another ride through the world of Uncharted. That's not to mention the fact that this is a paid product and not a free upgrade. That said, it is undeniable that this is the best version of 2 great jewels of the Naughty Dog catalog.
