A welcome return by Drinkbox Studios, in a title that manages to entertain on various fronts. It's an action RPG definitely worth diving into a dungeon for, with a lot more exploration needed for those looking for every secret.

If one were being picky, you could argue Drinkbox's focus this time on repeated dungeon-crawling may not have the same wow factor the studio's past projects have garnered on first glance.

Nobody Saves the World's form switching and punchy, responsive combat carries the game where its other elements let it down. The star of the show is its surprisingly dynamic twist on aRPG mechanics that makes figuring out builds to counter the dangers of its dungeons rewarding enough to warrant spending 20+ hours killing monsters and helping its sometimes oddball NPCs.

Drinkbox's signatue charm and humor is infused in this non-serious ARPG. With a wonderful art style and fun world to explore, Nobody Saves the World is a fun 20 hour escape.

My first playthrough took about 20 hours; the game crashed only once, and I only lost a few minutes of progress. The rebalancing offered by New Game+ and online co-op make it very tempting for me to start my next playthrough— although the bog-standard setting and milquetoast humor slightly dampen my enthusiasm. Still, this is an excellent retro action game with razor-sharp mechanics that I highly recommend.

"Nobody Saves the World" is not a masterpiece, but its simplicity manages to easily win you over – even with some small flaws, such as repetition and a bit tiresome exploration.

Despite the repetitive nature of Nobody Saves the World, the lows never outweigh the highs of completing quests, upgrading abilities, and mixing and matching new class combinations. The map size and story length aren't overly large, so even if it wears out its welcome a bit, it isn't as egregious as it could have been. Leveling up and crushing waves of enemies never stopped feeling good, even after this Nobody had rolled credits.

Nobody Saves the World offers an interesting shapeshifting mechanic that is instrumental to the gameplay; however, the drawn-out reliance on repetitive quests holds it back from metamorphosising into its true potential.

Nobody Saves the World is an almost fun product with interesting ideas such as the existence of several multiple playable characters with a completely different combat system that the player can very well personalize in terms of combat style.

Nobody Saves the World is a fun game, where the story, the quests and every other gameplay element are in the service of the character and evolution system. There are no armours or weapons or potions, it all comes down to the forms that work as classes and mixing their abilities.

Drinkbox Studios has served up another great time here with a colourful and clever dungeon-crawling adventure that gives you a ton of options as to how you approach its challenges. Switching up forms, mixing and matching skills and hoovering up an absolute ton of loot is addictive stuff here and, although it can be a tad repetitive, this is one of the slickest indie RPGs we've played in quite some time.

Making your way around Nobody Saves the World‘s map is nothing but a pure joy. This gorgeous, whimsical adventure feels like a more playful A Link to the Past at times – if A Link to the Past had you changing into a slug or a zombie, that is. If you’re a fan of accessible action RPGs and enjoy laying waste to tonnes of enemies, you can’t go wrong here. Once again, Drinkbox Studios has taken an oversaturated genre and turned it into something unique and delightful.

Nobody Saves the World does exploration and variety exceptionally well. At the same time, its heavy flow of rewards with very little challenge involved often makes it feel like you're mindlessly and unskillfully pressing buttons just to get another quick dopamine hit.

Nobody Saves the World is exactly what I've come to expect from a DrinkBox Studios game and more! The game is completely surreal with absurd and ridiculous humor. Even after completing it I want to go back and start a new game. Especially since I didn't mention it but the game offers co-op! I just need to find a friend with a sense of humor as twisted as mine and the developers...
