It may sound harsh, but Nobody Saves the World really threw all my pet peeves into a barrel and gave it a nice coat of paint.

Despite the huge variety of moves and characters, this disappointing follow-up to Guacamelee is let down by mindless combat and bland dungeon design.

Nobody Saves the World does exploration and variety exceptionally well. At the same time, its heavy flow of rewards with very little challenge involved often makes it feel like you're mindlessly and unskillfully pressing buttons just to get another quick dopamine hit.

If you are a fan of ARPGs or just need a chill game to smack some baddies around in, then Nobody Saves the World will fit that quite well.

Unfortunately, Nobody Saves the World is around 15 hours in length, stretching its gameplay tightly over its duration to the eventual distortion of both. Is it a bad game? God, no. Most titles don't even have two hours of worthwhile stuff to do. This is an original idea attached to traditional adventuring fun with all the customisation that comes along with its genre here given a renewed focus. We only wish its dungeons were as well-crafted as its skill trees and visuals, but while there's not enough meat on the bone, what's here is still pretty delicious while it lasts.

Overall, Nobody Saves the World could have been exceptional, but there are certain aspects that are lacking. The expected Drinkbox Studios humor isn’t pervasive enough to keep people playing to see what’s next, the story is negligible and seems like something tossed in to give players a half-hearted sense of purpose, and the repetitiveness of quests gets tiresome very quickly. The positives of the game – the appealing art style, variety of skills and dungeons, and perhaps multiplayer — might not be enough to keep players interested either. That being said, the gameplay and presentation of Nobody Saves the World will undoubtedly win over many people, and it may capture the attention of others for a solid chunk of time.

A fascinating ARPG with high doses of dungeon crawler that manages to surprise with its curious gameplay and interesting artwork.

Nobody Saves the World is a funny, inventive, but repetitive action RPG. It's fun to explore the class customisation, but that comes after repeatedly grinding dungeons to level up new forms. You'll have to ensure you really enjoy silly jokes and cooking up custom classes, which are definitely the game's biggest strength.

The middle of Nobody Saves the World is a lot of fun, but it is bookended by a slow beginning and final hours that lose steam as the campaign comes to an end.

Nobody Saves The World takes you to a world not knowing about your existence, and having to use a number of forms to survive. It's not like the average role-playing game and it’s great that it turned out to be this enjoyable. Especially with its uniqueness.

Nobody Saves the World offers an interesting shapeshifting mechanic that is instrumental to the gameplay; however, the drawn-out reliance on repetitive quests holds it back from metamorphosising into its true potential.

The main strength of Nobody Saves the World is its never being trivial: it is not in the beautiful music, in the funny dialogues, in the simple plot, nor in the complex but satisfying system of Aspects, which gives the player the opportunity to mix skills and create new and devastating builds. In short, it is a game in full Drinkbox style, different from the splendid Guacamelee!, but from which it inherits an over-the-top style and an explosion of creativity found not only in the artistic component, but in every pixel.

Nobody Saves the World is an almost fun product with interesting ideas such as the existence of several multiple playable characters with a completely different combat system that the player can very well personalize in terms of combat style.

Nobody Saves the World's form switching and punchy, responsive combat carries the game where its other elements let it down. The star of the show is its surprisingly dynamic twist on aRPG mechanics that makes figuring out builds to counter the dangers of its dungeons rewarding enough to warrant spending 20+ hours killing monsters and helping its sometimes oddball NPCs.

Nobody saves the world is a vast array of fun ideas made game, proving once again the talent of the people at DrinkBox Studios. It's easy to grasp and to understand, but a little on the repetitive and easy side, too. A no brainer if you have Game Pass.

Not only is it a great experience to share with a friend, but it’s a memorable one overall. Drinkbox Studios has crafted such a fun and challenging experience that definitely made me a glutton for punishment.

Nobody Saves the World is a neat little dungeon crawler that will keep you busy with its somewhat addictive goals and the plethora of forms. The humor is a bit mixed and the style is a tad flat, but it’s a lot of fun to play and it has a good deal of charm. Overall, it’s a weird and good time.

Nobody Saves the World is a crazy action RPG in which nobody can save the world, so it can be saved.
