The Last of Us Part I Reviews
We don't want to argue about whether "The Last of Us Part I" deserves the term remake or not. In terms of technical improvements in any case, because apart from little things that could have been done even better, the new edition looks essentially as we would expect from a native PS5 game. In essence, however, it remains the same game with the same story, the same levels and rather fine adjustments in the area of game balance.

The Last of Us is arguably the best video game ever created, and this PS5 remake is better in every single way. So if the original game was a groundbreaking 10/10 experience, there's absolutely no way this game could be scored worse. Naughty Dog is in a league of its own, and this remake just reaffirms that.

Simply put, it is incredibly challenging to recommend The Last of Us Part I to anyone who owns, or has played, the original release or its remaster. The game is exceptional in its quality, and features the same masterful story that arguably dwarfs that of the sequel. It features some of the most loveable (and hated) characters the video gaming has ever seen, and it looks absolutely stunning. The issue, however, is how it simply does not justify its own existence. There is no doubt how The Last of Us Part I is the definitive edition of the game — it will go down in history as an essential part of gaming. However, the knowledge of how it is, truthfully, nothing more than a visual upgrade with no multiplayer mode, and heavily marketed accessibility features, is downright disappointing – to say the least.
I think The Last of Us is the most important game in the video game industry. It is not only the best looking, but it also delivers one of the most unique storytelling experience in terms of dialogue and cinematography. Having a robust game design that has stood the test of time, the game is a visual spectacle to behold. Even the smallest attention to detail and accessibility options just adds praise for the game. The only thing that can set you back is the pricing of the game for the PS5
Visual improvements take a backseat to groundbreaking accessibility options to solidify The Last of Us Part I as the definitive version of an all-time classic.
The Last of Us Part 1 is the ultimate experience and the best version of the original game. It has been chosen to make small additions and improvements without covering major playable changes beyond the technical and visual section that has been redone from scratch. Loyalty to the original title is a virtue, but users who have already enjoyed the first installment or the remastering may find few incentives to play it again. However Joel and Ellie adventure remains a masterpiece and this is its definitive version.

The best thing I can say about The Last of Us Part 1 is that it meets Naughty Dog's previous claim: this is absolutely the definitive edition of the game. Not only do the improved graphics, lighting, and animations make for a better throughline experience, but they also add more emotional resonance to Joel and Ellie's story than ever before. In the brief history of the PS5, The Last of Us Part 1 is one of the most visually impressive games that I've played so far and it makes me that much more excited to see what Naughty Dog does with its next wholly new project for the platform.
Other than a fancy new visual makeover and a crazy amount of new accessibility options, The Last of Us Part 1 sports a ton of new features made only possible on the Playstation 5, such as faster loading times and 3D Audio, making use of the Playstation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, which delivers richer soundscapes and bigger explosive moment through Naughty Dogs newly upgraded audio engine drivers.
So The Last of Us Part I is somehow an improvement, but it is very minimal. The controls are sometimes quite rusty and graphically it is a small improvement and sometimes also an obstacle. Have you never played the original? Then The Last of Us Part I is definitely for you and you can add a point to it. Have you ever played the original? Then the purchase of at least 70 euros is not worth it and you can deduct one point from it.

The Last of Us Part I brings everything the game deserved to be in 2013 with visuals, mechanics and features that provide a great experience for both veterans and newbies in this universe of intense stories and outstanding characters. Fully standardized with Part II, this is a remake that we didn't need, at least for now, but one that is very welcome to keep alive one of the most important products in the global gaming industry.

The Last of Us Part 1 is a questionable remake of the beloved PS3 game. While the improvements are there, they come in small forms. For new players, this is the way to go, but fans of the original should probably wait for a price cut because the small improvements definitely do not justify the price.

In my view, this “remake” – and let’s be frank here, it’s effectively still the same game we’ve seen twice before now – simply does not justify its price tag. Even factoring in the accessibility options which will make the game available to more people, it’s still not OK to be charging a AAA, next-gen premium price for this.
It's de definitive edition of the beloved The Last of Us. But apart from the new fresh visuals, there is a lot that could be done to make justice to a real worthy remake.

The Last of Us Part I offers an impressive rebuild of a game that is so emotionally captivating. It is absolutely worth revisiting Joel and Ellie’s journey whether it’s your first or second visit into this post apocalyptic world. Naughty Dog delivered a clinic on our to create a remake of a relatively recent gen.

The Last of Us Part I is the best, most detailed and beautiful version of a legendary journey that has won hearts of millions of gamers worldwide. If someone is not satisfied that the developers have made this excellent game even better, nothing at all would satisfy them.

Sitting somewhere between remake and remaster, the asking price is steep, but The Last of Us Part 1 is a beautiful version of one of PlayStation’s best ever games.
The doubt as to whether or not a remake was necessary does not prevent Naughty Dog's classic from revalidating its position as one of the greats of its genre.

Playing THE LAST OF US PART 1 makes me wish this was the very first time I was playing the series, taking my first steps into post apocalyptic cordyceps infected world. If this game came out for the very first time in 2022, it'd easily make everyone's game of year lists it'd be collecting high marks everywhere, it's a thoroughly excellent game with some unforgettable storytelling and gripping gameplay. But this game is for better and worse the ultimate version of that 2013 title, which means if you've experienced Joel and Ellie's first story, you've played this game already.
