Dead Space (2023) Reviews
Dead Space is a mighty remake with improvements in every aspect: Isaac Clarke's misadventure has been completely overhauled to offer a new approach that works really well. We trust that this is only the first step towards a new way of playing horror titles.

Dead Space is a phenomenal way to relive the original, or a great starting point for those new to the series.
Dead Space is a world class remake that thrives on next-gen and remains absolutely horrifyingly brilliant. The gameplay hasn’t aged a day, it looks, feels, and plays better than ever, and the new content make this a must-buy, whether you’re new to Dead Space or you’re back for another trip to the Ishimura. I always thought Isaac Clarke deserved better and thankfully Motive’s efforts have given him a well-deserved lifeline and hope for a very promising future indeed.
Why offer a remake when the original is still rock solid? The truth is that the remake compliments the original in every way. No big changes but subtle adjustments, both story-technical and graphical. Whether you're taking a nostalgic trip or experiencing Dead Space for the first time, these improvements are a plus in both experiences. The audio plays an important role in the experience. Anyone who likes to get spooky will definitely be on the edge of their seat. After a good twelve hours of scaring, the end credits finally roll across the screen and you can breathe a sigh of relief. With this, EA delivers a masterclass in building suspense that goes hand in hand with visual splendor and a strongly driven story.

Dead Space 2023 is one of the most effective remakes I’ve seen, improving upon the original vision for the game while retaining that initial style that was ever so effective.
It says so much that Dead Space 2023 changes very little yet remains just as impressive as it was in 2008... It was a sheer pleasure to revisit one of my all-time favourites. Dead Space is a fitting tribute to a disrespected but ceaselessly beloved series.
The remake of Dead Space improves the action horror classic from 2008 in a lot of ways without negatively impacting any of the good parts.

Dead Space is an expertly crafted remake which had me hooked right until the very end. A survival horror game fan could not ask for more in this anxiety-inducing experience which has a gripping story and exciting gameplay.
EA Motive's remake of Dead Space is a fantastic update to a bonafide horror classic.
Dead Space (2023) is a benchmark for remakes, with fixes where it needed to, and small, subtle touches where it didn't, to keep it fresh and modern.

Dead Space Remake is a title I couldn’t enjoy more if I tried. I love Sci-Fi, I love horror, and this game just reminded me of why the original title turned as many heads as it did. It’s a labor of love and I couldn’t be happier to award an extremely rare perfect score to Dead Space Remake. It’s put every other game of 2023 on notice and will take something really special to dethrone as King of the Horror Mountain.
Dead Space is how a remake is supposed to be. The game is full of big and small improvements that make the experience even more intense, but also even better than the original and that with graphics and sound that are completely current-gen is. When you play the game, it really feels like the Dead Space of before, but as soon as you hold both versions next to each other you only notice well how big the differences actually are. That's exactly what a Really good remake features: the preservation of good elements and improvements that don't stand out.

Those who played the original version will really be able to feel some repetition to relive a game of this scale, but for the simple fact that it was a game that already marked a generation at the time. However, I believe that these players will still have their senses put to the test during game time. The graphic improvements that this new version brings are a delight, and even those who choose to play in performance mode will certainly not be disappointed. Anyone who has never played the game, whether they like the genre or not, shouldn't miss the growing suspense that Dead Space brings.

EA Motive has done an excellent job recapturing the magic of the original game, whilst expanding and improving on several key areas. Managing to take what was already a superb game and make it even better. Although, a couple of extra tweaks really could have brought it to the next level. The Dead Space remake stands up there with Resident Evil in “how to do a remake”, and it’s one that I highly recommend for fans and newcomers alike.
Like the Necromorphs themselves, Dead Space has been reanimated from death thanks to a superb remake treatment courtesy of Motive Studio. The USG Ishimura feels alive with terror once more thanks to fleshed out narrative stakes, an engaging exploration overhaul and a wonderful attention to detail. The Marker beckons, won’t you make us whole again?
Although it slips on some technical issues and the repetition makes it seem longer than necessary, the balance of Dead Space is quite attractive: immersive atmosphere, sinister story, detailed graphics, intense action and many scares raise the quality of the experience for anyone who wants to revisit the game or experience it for the first time.

This remake of Dead Space sets a new standard when it comes to remakes by offering not only improved graphics but enhanced gameplay and story telling that brings the game to a whole new level.
The Dead Space remake goes beyond a simple remaster and creates a modern horror classic.
The Dead Space remake is an excellent example of what a remake should look like. The core remains the same while getting a lot of new stuff. As a result, the title will appeal to original players and attract new fans.

Motive Studio didn’t just reanimate a well-loved cadaver, but intelligently modernized the horror classic by highlighting and expanding upon what worked and changing what didn’t. This combination means that Dead Space is far scarier and more action-packed than the original while also having a more nuanced narrative that is able to build off what worked in the following games.
