Dead Space (2023) Reviews
The mix of creatures is as deadly and menacing as ever and there are multiple skill levels including a story mode where players can experience the game without the frequent deaths the game is famous for. There are already rumors that Dead Space 2 is next in line for an upgrade and while I would welcome this, I would love to see a fourth chapter in the main series as it would be nice to have a new release every few years to carry the franchise forward.
Dead Space is a shining example of how to do a remake – and do it well. The tiny changes to the core gameplay are all beneficial to the overall experience, while the aesthetic is absolutely stunning all round. It’s testament to how good the original is that even now, 14 years later, Dead Space holds up as one of the best survival horror games on the market. If you haven’t played it before, or fancy reliving a classic, you should absolutely give this a play.
Dead Space Remake manages to stay faithful to the already very successful original game and adapts it beautifully to the present day with the changes made.

Dead Space Remake is a clear labor of love from EA Motive toward the influential original. Not only does it understand exactly what didn’t need fixing, but added to the experience through a series of risks that seriously paid off.
Dead Space was a franchise that many thought long dead. Motive has revitalized the flesh around the series and provided a rebirth that not a lot of studios have been able to replicate.
It's not the first good remake out there, but EA Motive's work on Dead Space is yet another example of how excellently well executed remakes can be.

Dead Space rigorously reanimates gaming's best sci-fi horror game. It's clear EA Motive looked at the original title both through the lens of adoring fans as well as talented developers. They keep what worked, morph what didn't, and unlike the game's protagonist, cut off almost nothing. The USG Ishimura has never been more immersive. Only minor missteps keep it from perfection, but not from being an absolutely stunning makeover, and a must-play experience.
This version and reworking of Dead Space fixes all issues with the original, adds new content of substance, and quality of life improvements all-around. I don’t often replay games, but I’m eager to start my run in New Game+ on a harder difficulty already. Knowing that this was remade from the ground-up still manages to trick the brain into thinking this is how it used to look back in 2008, but couldn’t be more wrong. This is one of the best survival horror games ever, and sits in the pantheon of great remakes like Resident Evil 2. I hope Motive continue to be the caretakers of the Dead Space estate, as they possess the blueprint for what a remake should be. Dead Space is a horror classic for a new generation, and it’s better than ever.
This is Dead Space at its best! Dead Space Remake is one of the best in class. Motive took everything that made the original game succesful, improved on it, and even added much needed changes. It's a must play title whether you've already played the original, or exploring the Ishimura for the first time.

Dead Space is more than just a refurbishment, it's a new game. Motive clearly did their homework and revitalized a series sorely in need of it. The stunning redesign of the USG Ishimura, the subtle changes, and the expanded systems make this an anxiety-inducing experience but one that is recommended.
Whether you’re a fan of the OG or a newcomer, Dead Space is the first great AAA offering of this year. Hopefully it means more great things in the pipeline for the series. They have largely succeeded in breathing new life into the long-dormant IP with such a quality remake. Sure, it’s not a 1:1 remake like most purists wanted but, Dead Space will surely impress newcomers and fans (at least most of them anyway) with excellent audiovisual design, an even brutal combat system, reworked lore and an immersive campaign that’ll last you anywhere from 12 to 14 hoursMaybe we’ll finally get the definitive Dead Space 3 experience at the hands of Motive. But that’s food for thought.
The Dead Space Remake has no flaws for me. It took one of my favorite franchises and reinvented it perfectly. It is stunning to look at, and every single change or addition they made works. This remake is a masterpiece and I hope that this is the rebirth that the Dead Space franchise deserves.
Dead Space Remake takes us back to deep space at the hands of Isaac Clarke, who will have to survive various hostile organisms aboard the USG Ishimura spaceship. Dead Space Remake does not disappoint, surpassing the original with a major facelift, both in its spectacular audiovisual section and in the playable one. It has interesting additions that give dynamism to the adventure making it very fun to play, all without losing that special essence that made our hair stand on end 15 years ago. With a return to the origins of the survival horror genre from before, it will not leave indifferent neither those who already played it in its day, nor those who try it for the first time. An essential title for all fans of horror and science fiction that can easily take us 15 hours, yes, we insist, it is not suitable for the faint of heart!

Dead Space and EA Motive pulled off what many had doubted since its announcement. They not only remade Dead Space from the ground up, but they made a superior version of one of the greatest horror games ever made.
Dead Space Remake isn't simply a remake; it's a whole new experience. It's the perfect example of the horror genre at its finest. EA Motive showed to be capable, and they did a great job, adding to and improving the game without interfering too much with the gameplay or the plot. It's undoubtedly the most refined and improved version of one of the most terrifying games ever created.
Dead Space is the perfect video game remake. Whether you’re an old fan or a new player, you will find a fantastically gruesome good time with this title. But look out, this horror classic might just leave some scars alongside that nostalgia.
Dead Space has eclipsed the original release with an array of fantastic additions, but doesn’t lose sight of what made the 2008 version so revered.
The Dead Space remake is a wonderful reminder of why the original 2008 game was fantastic. The story genuinely makes you feel helpless, and the constant escalation throughout the plotline is exciting, with devilishly increasing numbers of enemies chasing after Isaac in constantly dire situations.
Dead Space is an authentic remake, revised and improved in every way from what we had come to love and appreciate back in 2008. EA Motive has not only lavishly improved the entire technical aspect of the original product, but has further enhanced the entire experience, making the Ishimura a frightening death trap, capable of terrorizing and concealing a story that is still fascinating today.
