Minecraft Legends Reviews
Minecraft Legends isn’t a bad game; the issue is that it doesn’t excel at any of the genres that it attempts to tackle. In terms of construction, it doesn’t hold a candle to the possibilities of the original, and to be fair that isn’t quite the aim here – still, it could do a lot more than it currently does; as a tactical warfare game, it’s a simplistic and yet occasionally convoluted take offering slim options to engage in deep and meaningful combat, instead ruling by numbers and basic unit expertise that won’t get your commander juices flowing. Conqueror’s Blade is one of countless examples that perform this art of war in superior ways, balancing complexity with fun in a rewarding way. Too shallow for players looking for a challenge and too complicated for younger players, creativity is mostly absent in this spin-off. Minecraft Legends may retain some of its original blocky charm, but the fun aspect was lost somewhere along the way, being replaced by repetitive gameplay and frustrating unit control woes.
The Minecraft franchise continues to expand its world, offering a unique blend of action and strategy gameplay. While efforts have been made to make the genre more accessible, the repetitive and simplistic level designs can cause players to lose interest pretty quickly.

Minecraft Legends is a true treat to experience. While not exactly a full-on strategy title like Age of Empires or even Command & Conquer, strategy fans will still be pleased at the amount of units to command and buildings to erect. The story most definitely takes the main focus here, with around 20 hours of singleplayer gameplay to tide all Minecraft fan over during a single campaign, and many more if players decide to replay certain missions or pursue the ever elusive Award Point goal. Regardless of reasons to play, Minecraft Legends is as true to the vanilla Minecraft experience as any other spin-off, and its strategy and story elements do not impede on the creative freedom the franchise is known for, making it a good addition to the Minecraft fold.
Ultimately, Minecraft Legends is a satisfying and engaging strategy video game that gets to the goal in an absolutely overwhelming way. Bolstered by an interesting setting, the war against the Piglins turns out to be well-written and orchestrated. The game structure, while simple and aimed at a wide audience, is excellently implemented. The marriage between Mojang and Blackbird Interactive worked brilliantly, showcasing the talents of both teams once again. The Otherworld awaits.

Do I recommend the game? At the price of ~£35 / $40 / €40, you will get a decent bang for your buck with the PvP component having the potential to provide even more. If you have Game Pass, this is an automatic recommendation since there is no extra cost for you. Even if you aren't subscribed at this time, it is more than worth a month's subscription to experience Minecraft Legends.
You will not notice the negative parts of Minecraft Legends when you first start playing it. As you keep at it after an hour or two, you will soon realize that the world is just a hollow mimic of the original. I was told the game was made to be catered to kids, but the gameplay feels too overwhelming.
Minecraft Legends is not a game with a very deep strategy aspect. It appeals to a wider audience in terms of age. It is a game where you can spend time with your friends, either competitively or cooperatively, but you are likely to get bored alone.

Minecraft Legends offers simple, yet decently complex enough real time strategy combat where players are free to build and attack within a dynamic world.
If you can get over the often daft AI, mild learning curve with systems that might be pretty complex for younger players, and few performance issues, then you might be swayed by its charm. It has a lot of heart and that's where it shines the brightest.
Whether you have experience with RTS games or not, I highly recommend you give Minecraft Legends a shot. One may consider it an RTS-lite, allowing it to be enjoyable for those who are not into the complicated nature of most RTS games. All-in-all, I really enjoyed my time playing Minecraft Legends, and I’m super excited to see where it goes in the future.
Minecraft Legends is a bland strategy title that fails to impress. The core tactical systems are shallow and have been implemented quite poorly and the third person combat and traversal is underwhelming at best. As you are locked to controlling your hero, constructing defenses and ordering troops can also feel quite awkward meaning this experience quickly becomes very tedious. This is really unfortunate, because the story is decent, and has some clever humour. However, this is not enough of a reason to be worth investing time into Minecraft Legends.
Minecraft Legends is an interesting effort by Mojang to expand the experiences created in this universe. With the help of Blackbird Interactive, they created a hybrid of action and strategy that on paper had everything to work out, but unfortunately it's a shallow game that quickly loses its luster. It is too simple for the biggest lovers of strategy, it does not have enough interesting action elements to become exciting in the medium and long term. I would say that only the little ones, or parents who want to play with their children, will be able to enjoy Minecraft Legends.

Minecraft Legends is an accessible and easy to master RTS, capable of delivering many hours of enjoyment to every kind of player. Something more could have been done for content variety and to strengthen the plot, but it remains a game that both veterans and newbies to the RTS genre should try.

Minecraft Legends campaign was genuinely fantastic in the 15-hour playthrough I had. Between the story and the excellent usage of cutscenes that never got in the way. The very intricate yet satisfying combat and the consistently frustrating world bosses all kept me engaged. As well as having a varied open world to explore with a lot to find that felt rewarding. Minecraft Legends is definitely not going to be for everyone, but this game will solidify itself as a mainstay in the genre with how it handled all these aspects to create a memorable experience
At its heart, Minecraft Legends presents a fun, new adventure that shows how versatile the franchise can be. It can be enjoyed in a variety of modes, and as long as your friends are along for the ride, it’s hard to resist coming back for more.
Mojang Studios and Microsoft can be proud of their success in adapting the massive Minecraft franchise into a brand new adventure. Minecraft Legends offers a strategic experience that mixes cooperation and confrontation. A complete campaign mode perfectly accompanies the wonderful cinematics designed by the studio in addition to the additions already planned for the coming months. If the gameplay is not perfect and we can feel a little frustrated during our games, the title remains a great introduction for the neophytes of the genre. On their side, the regulars should also find their account with the PvP modes.

Minecraft Legends is a fun strategy built around the Minecraft world, and it’s easy to grasp. Fans will get a kick out of the base campaign (especially with a friend or two), It just has its limitations and mechanics that could lead to frustration.
Minecraft Legends is gaming at its best - fun, welcoming, evolving, easy to play but endlessly difficult to master. And best played with friends. You’ll be continuously tested by this game and it takes its forebears’ core mechanics and adds them neatly into a new-but-familiar mix of action and strategy.
Minecraft Legends is a welcome introduction to the world of real-time strategy but equally adds its own distinct spin on things with its iconic style of building and creating. While the game’s campaign is dynamic, robust and generous, and there is a long-term setup for regular content additions, this is a game that lives, breathes, and thrives on multiplayer. Thankfully, with its inclusion in GamePass, brand recognition and synchronization across all formats, community is something it will never have to worry about and will encourage for years to come.
While Minecraft: Legends isn’t a bad game, at all. It didn’t give me that ‘wow’ feeling either. It felt as if Mojang was trying to re-discover that awestruck feeling that you got when you first entered the world of Minecraft, yet… Fell short right before that feeling was achieved. In that regard, maybe the game is really geared towards a multiplayer experience rather than a single player one. So, let that not stop you if you want to give it a go with your pals. I’m sure you’ll have a blast then!
