Don't call it a comeback or a renaissance, but think of it as the next chapter of growth in this long-standing saga. Street Fighter has held an insanely large portion of the fighting genre in the palm of its hands for decades, and yes it almost suffered its own embarrassing knock-out last round, but it's come back stronger, tougher, quicker and much more appealing than ever.

And that’s just scratching the surface of the game’s pleasures. There’s the professional match commentary, the surprising character details and bond system in World Tour, the fabulously nonbinary tournament emcee Eternity, the return of bonus stages, the battle-rap style intros for Versus matches, the create-a-character’s intricacies actually affecting gameplay, the character-specific voice lines during the Arcade mode’s final boss fights. Which is to say, Street Fighter 6 is the most feature-rich, welcoming, and inclusive package ever crafted for a fighting game—a stylish reassertion of creative dominance for the series that started it all, and an endlessly rewarding new foundation for its future. The next generation of fighting games starts right here.

Street Fighter 6 came to be a definite turning point not just for the series, but for fighting games in general. Both the experience for those who want to enjoy it alone and for those who want to spend hours in network disputes leaves absolutely nothing to be desired, and that makes SF return to the level of excellence in the genre that it should never have failed to present.

At the end of the day, what matters is that Street Fighter 6 did manage to overcome a ton of odds. It might have an issue or two when it comes to the visual fidelity of its campaign mode, as well as some odd artistic decisions, but as a complete package, there’s little to complain about. It’s Capcom, yet again, delivering. Great controls, buttery smooth performance, and one of the best single-player campaigns ever put in a fighting game are but a few of the highlights in this roaring success of a title.

While Street Fighter 6 is bolder and more accessible than ever and packed with content. Although it’s single player open world-ish venture is a bit of a chore, meaty new elements and a great roster almost makes up for that. Flourishing and dazzling visuals with killer soundtrack also worth to mention. It’s a dream comes true for every fighting game fan.

Not only does it restore faith from the fans, but there’s no doubt that Street Fighter 6 will be a significant factor as to why the fighting genre will most likely dominate the gaming world for the next few years or so. And obviously, there’s no surprise if it wins the Fighting game of the Year – despite Mortal Kombat 1 inevitably coming for that crown. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, from top to bottom, you are guaranteed the best experience from a Street Fighter game ever.

It really goes without saying that Street Fighter 6 launch edition is a million times better than Street Fighter 5's, but that's way too low a bar to surpass. [Y]ou're looking at the best version of the 2D fighting series that made the genre exist in the first place that's also going to keep you busy whether you're offline or online.

Summing it up, Street Fighter 6 is great, and well worth the price tag considering the game modes available to players and the customization options and story mode in World Tour, the classic Street Fighter runs in knowing characters’ stories in Arcade Mode and the inevitable online battles which await you. In the immortal words of Joe Bob Briggs, “Four stars, check it out!”

Needless to say, Street Fighter 6 has set a new benchmark for the genre in more ways than one. The new Drive System injects a new sense of depth into an established formula, the roster is more than substantial to keep players busy, and the online netcode allows for true skill to shine through. Other than the slight misstep of the World Tour mode, everything else connects like a well-timed haymaker, and that’s an impressive feat to say the least.
