Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores Reviews
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is not just an incredible DLC, but it’s an absolutely crucial part of the entire Horizon story.
At a not too high price, Burning Shores is mainly aimed at players who want to return to Aloy's universe after a year-long break. The additions made by the developers alone are not worth the investment, but the storyline and the complicity between Seyka and our heroine allow Burning Shores to be an interesting addition for fans of the series.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is a very continuist DLC, but above all beautiful, fun and with a catching and dynamic gameplay that manages to elevate a good title to a new level.

We recommend that anyone who has played Horizon fearlessly add Aloy's new chapter to their collection.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores stands out with key events that enhance the main story and graphics that make it more visually impressive. A "must play" DLC pack for anyone who loves the series.

Burning Shores perfectly picks up the story after the events of Horizon Forbidden West. At twenty euros, the expansion is not even that expensive and can be completed fairly quickly. Los Angeles looks beautiful and story-wise it's pretty solid too. Now waiting for the latest part to appear, although that will take a while. Until then, keep flying around Burning Shores.

While it stumbles a bit near the end, the Burning Shores DLC is nonetheless another fantastic reason to step back into the shoes of our protagonist Aloy.
It would have been easy to dismiss Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores as just another DLC that doesn’t do much, but on the contrary, this is one new chapter that fans will sink their teeth into and come out the other end satisfied and excited for Aloy’s next adventure. From further refining a gorgeous world, expanding the character development, to adding even more spice to the established combat formula, the experience comes to possess additional depth and flavour that should not be missed, even if certain impactful moments don’t exactly hit the mark.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores runs really well on PS5 and presents an exceptional bossfight. There are some issues with gameplay and technical aspects though.

With Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, players can expect more of an extension to the story than a full expansion, but it still offers Aloy a chance to showcase her role as a key protagonist.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is a competent DLC that adds subtle improvements to one of the most fantastic adventures of recent times in video games. Despite not adding much in terms of history, the new region still yields good hours of gameplay for those who like to venture into the post-apocalyptic world of Guerilla Games.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is a technical masterpiece, possibly the best looking game right now, but as an expansion it plays way too safe with no meaningful improvements and ends up a bit forgettable due to it.

Like its predecessor, Burning Shores tends towards more abstract sci-fi elements, particularly in its final stanza – which includes one of the largest and grandest scale fights in Horizon – but in focusing on character and human relationships, this unique expansion successfully charts tricky waters.
Burning Shores is one of the best DLCs I’ve ever played and is up there with Left Behind in a way it develops its character, progresses its story in a smart way but equally raises the bar for everything to follow. A fitting send off for Forbidden West and a tantalising taster for the future of the Horizon franchise.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is an all in all a good DLC that introduces a new story (although it does not give particularly noteworthy moments, apart from an 'unexpected evolution of Aloy), new missions, weapons and that above all improves even more the visual compartment, presenting itself even more impressive than it was already a year ago with the main chapter.

Just like the Frozen Wilds DLC for Horizon Zero Dawn explored new avenues and pushed the story forward with possible cliffhangers and ideas, Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores up the ante with its characters, boss fights, and exploration. To finally see Aloy so sure of herself and commanding one last time before the eventual third act is inspiring to see.
Burning Shores is a bit more Horizon Forbidden West, with all that entails. There are various new enemies, some welcome new gameplay additions, and a new map to explore.

Despite a few fumbles, Burning Shores is an essential pickup for anyone who’s invested in the Horizon storyline. The gameplay doesn’t do too much to differentiate itself from Forbidden West, but that’s hardly to its detriment. With plenty of side content, pristine locations to explore and intriguing characters to meet, Burning Shores is everything you could want from a Horizon expansion. Now all that’s left to do is wait for Geurilla to close out the trilogy it’s spent the last six years setting up - and we can't wait to see the results.
Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores add enough new content to keep the experience fresh. With that in mind, Burning Shores end on a notable high even if it struggles with the ascent.
Aloy's new journey after a year from the release is as enjoyable as the main one. While the newly added weapon provides more fresh, powerful gameplay, It is somewhat disappointing that the new area doesn't offer much difference from the mainland in visual wise.
