Planet of Lana takes us on a journey through a mesmerizing world. Content varies between exploration, puzzle solving, and stealth, with some thrilling moments here and there. If not for a few shortcomings, it would've been put there with masterpieces like Inside.

Planet of Lana is a pleasant surprise. It tells a compelling story with some unexpected twists, and it does so without the need to utter a word in a language we understand. The puzzles aren't obtuse enough to be frustrating, while the platforming never feels imprecise. To top it off, the presentation both looks and sounds amazing. Unless you dislike the entire genre, Planet of Lana is easily a contender for any "best of" lists this year.

If you're looking for an unusual platform game, you've come to the right place. Planet of Lana is a successful harmony of unique gameplay, emotions, graphics and melody. The only shame is that it is so short.

Although it doesn't do anything revolutionary gameplay-wise, Planet of Lana is a lovely puzzle platformer with one gorgeous world.

It's always great when new game developers present their first work and it strikes a chord with many players. Swedish indie studio Wishfully has definitely succeeded in doing just that with "Planet of Lana," and I'm already looking forward to what they'll serve up next. The mix of hand-painted backgrounds with captivating music and soundtracks that fit the action, the fantasy language that adjusts in volume to the situation, and the challenges all seem seamlessly engineered. A very welcome change of pace, one that's sure to be even more rewarding as a local team task on a nice weekend evening. I give it two clear thumbs up!

Planet of Lana offers an audiovisual feast that is truly awe-inspiring and well worth the investment of time. The breathtaking visuals and mesmerizing soundtrack alone will etch their way into your memory. Sadly, the basic puzzle & stealth gameplay falls flat and even dares venture into boring territory. Perhaps my expectations were set too high, but it’s a testament to the power of art in gaming and a reminder that even imperfect experiences can leave a lasting impact.

Planet of Lana takes everything we love from Studio Ghibli and Limbo and infuses it into one of the most breathtaking and exciting indie game experiences of the year. A must-play indie title.

With We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie, Bandai Namco delivers to new (and old) generations of players what can undoubtedly be considered the most successful and fun chapter of the adventures of the King of Cosmos and the Prince. With an immediate and addictive gameplay structure, the second episode of this crazy series boasts the best mission lineup, enhanced by some interesting variations that keep the rolling always varied and stimulating. Add to this a successful, albeit slim, set of new levels, and the usual splendid soundtrack (too bad for the paid DLC), and it becomes clear that We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is a must-have title for fans of Keita Takahashi's psychedelic creative style. Now, excuse me while I hum my na-na na-na-na-na-na na-na, Katamari Damacy...

Overall, Planet of Lana is a polished puzzle platformer that lacks combat but makes up for that with cool stealth and satisfying platforming. Atmospheric sound design and terrifying enemies mean that setting traps and using your intelligence is what will help you conquer the game. In terms of art, the game uses an attractive graphical style, and animation is smooth. However, it takes while to get used to the controls and to get used to using Lana’s cat companion Mui to solve puzzles. This results in a few difficulty spikes.

Planet of Lana is an exciting journey that captivates us not only with its consistent gameplay and narrative centered on friendship and partnership, but also with its ability to transport us to a rich and imaginative universe. Witnessing the influence of one of the greatest geniuses in the gaming industry being so well used in a game that combines already explored genres is simply fascinating.

Planet of Lana is a beautiful cinematic platformer with 2D gameplay where stealth sections, platforms, and contextual puzzles await us. We will accompany Lana and the creature Mui on a quite emotional as well as artistically beautiful adventure. For Wishfully Studios' first title, it couldn't have started better and Planet of Lana is a highly recommended title.

With a wonderful art style and some fresh puzzle design thanks to an adorable sidekick, this is more than just a Limbo knock-off and has its own worth.

When the whole package comes together, Wishfully's debut release truly sings. A straightforward narrative and relatively simple gameplay loop simply feel bigger than they are, made even more engaging when accompanied by an audiovisual experience as strong as Planet of Lana's. Planet of Lana is the epitome of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Every piece taken separately may not seem like something extraordinary, but when Wishfully has each piece of its experience clicked together, it made for one of our favorite experiences of the year.

Wishfully crafted a visually striking game and a lovely friendship between Lana and Mui. The game wants to be a simple experience regarding mechanics and story although the duration might be short for some people that are looking for something greater.

Ultimately, this title is a great relaxing game for a quiet evening with a glass of wine. Of course, even the non-alcoholic one. It took us about 5 hours to finish it, and we hope we will see the second part in time because we will remember this experience for a long time.

There is so much to love in Planet of Lana. The visuals, the audio design, and the gameplay combine to create something that feels like you just slot into it. This is a game that everyone was born to play. It’s not overly complicated, except for one puzzle, and it doesn’t try to cram lots of high-sci-fi concepts down your throat. It just exists and welcomes you to play in a way that feels natural and you never truly want to leave behind.

At times, it feels like Planet of Lana tragically works to oppose itself. For every bit of exquisite scenery and artistic richness, there’s gameplay that’s overly familiar, rote and unappealing. It’s a shame that such a stylistically spellbinding game is compromised by its dearth of exciting gameplay ideas. Planet of Lana is by no means a shoddy game. It’s actually pretty good thanks to a cocktail of challenging puzzles and pinpoint platforming. However, its lack of innovation, as well as its myriad of little kinks, stop it from becoming a true exemplar of the genre. For all Planet of Lana is, it really could’ve and really should’ve been so much more.
