We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie Reviews
We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie takes the best bits of the series and bundles it all together in a wonderful little package. The creativity in environments is delightful, the updated visuals look stunning and the trademark humor and style is clear for all to see. While I definitely struggled with the controls and feel movement is really dated and clunky, this is just such a wonderful little gem that everyone should try at least once.
undefined. If you've ever played We Love Katamari or any version of the original Katamari Damacy, then you already know what you'll be getting into with We Love Katamari Reroll. It's an incremental improvement at best-both as a sequel to Katamari Damacy and as a port of We Love Katamari-but if that's all you're looking for then the end result will certainly be satisfying. Katamari is already such an unusual game that maybe its sequel doesn't need to be particularly groundbreaking, and since it's so rare for any Katamari game to be released at all it's absolutely a good place to start for anyone that hasn't gotten to experience the series' weird and wonderful vibes.
We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is a competent remastered of an all-time classic that is as fun to play today as it was almost twenty years ago.

Sometimes, there are titles that deserve a second chance, perhaps to have new followers or perhaps to remind us of old glories that deserve to be revived once again. This time we refer to We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie, a very fun game, with a very addictive game mode that will keep us with the command, looking to replay and prove that we are very good and skilled.

This remaster of We Love Katamari complies with bringing the experience of years ago, and it is that there was never any talk of doing a remake or something similar, just bringing it to a new audience. If you don't want to plug your PS2 back in then it doesn't hurt to buy it, and if you've never played it in your life, I think it would be a good window of entry.

The sequel to Katamari Damacy comes rolling back into our lives with the same charm as the original 2005 work. More extra content is missing, but the game works exactly as well as it did almost twenty years ago thanks to prioritizing fun above all else.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Reverie is a remastered version of the original game that offers enhanced visuals, improved performance, and new content, providing a unique and enjoyable gaming experience with its innovative control scheme and engaging challenges. However, the game's replay value is somewhat hampered by the repetitive humor and chatter from the King of All Cosmos, and the new content, while enriching the backstory, introduces a significant difficulty spike that may frustrate players who haven't mastered the controls.
It’s the best version of this game to date, and it gives me hope that seeing these being brought to modern platforms may be the spark that gives us brand-new titles. But for now, I’m fine with getting a well-crafted remake of a damned fine game with the kind of quality-of-life updates and additional content that help the low barrier of entry go down even easier than a straight port ever could. Go roll up some stars, man. You’ll enjoy it.
Though We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is certainly not a game for everyone, with its occasionally wacky mechanics and bizarre at times story, there is no doubt that those who choose to pick it up will be pleasantly surprised by its quirky, colorful, and addictive style. Not to mention that hanging around after the credits will allow players to complete a very satisfying final Katamari level that ties up the game beautifully and will leave players with overall satisfaction both in terms of narrative and gameplay.
This far outstrips the first game in content amount, and the approach to telling a new story that can encapsulate the wider scope is genius. We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is a fantastic portable game and fits Switch like a glove. This is a hearty recommendation to all gamers and any lovers of the King's tight purple tights.
It’s not the same as getting a brand new game, but when it comes to Katamari, we’ll take whatever we can get. We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie is just as delightful as the original, and it’s clear a lot of work has been done to make this 18-year-old game look just as good as ever. Some of its more random levels aren’t quite as enjoyable as they should be, but as a full package, this is Katamari at its best.
Oh Katamari, what a vibrant collection of randomness you are.
We love Katamari, and you should too. Like Katamari Damacy Reroll before it, We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is a damn fine remaster, brimming with colour and verve. If it's a pure shot of fun you crave, then you can't really do much better than this.
We Love Katamari is a better game than Katamari Damacy. It has more level variety, and had multiplayer options before it was remastered. The core gameplay of both games is exactly the same. We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie is a fantastic remaster of that already great game. The HD visuals and gameplay tweaks look and feel perfect. The only fault is in the bonus content. It’s always lovely to have more features, but none of them are so compelling that they extend the time you’ll spend with the game. We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie won’t be for everyone, but it will also be a “must play experience” for many.
We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is the best version of what is generally considered the best Katamari title. That being said, if you own the original and are looking to buy it just for the Royal Reverie content, its extremely short runtime makes it hard to recommend for that alone. However, for anyone who hasn't played this weird and wonderful game (or series) it's a definite recommendation – and a game with an extremely fitting name.
Fans can only dream and hope that Bandai Namco will one day create a brand new game in the Katamari franchise, but for now, modern remasters and ports of the original games will do. We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie remains one of the most inventive and quirky games that I have ever played, with its meta-narrative premise, wildly addicting gameplay loop, and incredibly wacky soundtrack.
Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.
The last great Katamari game and in terms of everything but the soundtrack the better game of the two, even if the novelty barely stretches across two titles.
We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie is exactly what its name will lead you to believe as it's an excellent classic silly fun time that looks better than ever and has a pinch of extra content that's sure to delight long-time fans so play it; okay, Mr. Sunshine?
