I may seem a little overzealous when I say this, but We Love Katamari is one of the best games ever made. Sure, the concept isn’t for everyone, but it does everything this concept has going for it perfectly. I think the series lost focus after this title which isn’t a surprise because this is the last Katamari game that the creator Keita Takahashi worked on. The other Katamari games are great do not get me wrong and I hope those get remastered too, but future games lacked the same innovation We Love Katamari had for the concept of rolling up junk. This is the top of the clump spirit folks, and I would suggest not missing it.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is my new favourite Katamari game, with varied stages and a whole lot of wacky charm.

We Love Katamari ReRoll continues to spread the word of this wonderful series to a fresh audience. Tongue-in-cheek meta jabs at itself and a greater focus on what makes the King of All Cosmos tick just adds extra flavor.

In rounding off Katamari Damacy's rougher edges and upping the ante with more diverse mechanics and challenges, even goofier writing, and a terrific soundtrack, We Love Katamari cemented itself as a high watermark for video game sequels in 2005. Even without the remaster treatment, the game's maintained its luster remarkably well but Reroll + Royal Reverie is (an admittedly thin layer of) icing on an already decadent cake. With a number of solid quality-of-life updates and sharper, brighter visuals, this is undeniably the best way to experience the 2005 classic.

We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royale Reverie does an ample job of being a remaster with modernizations like saving anywhere and a list to get to requests easier. Some of its minor drawbacks are what I feel to be essential to the game and somewhat puts it in a weird place of being ALMOST perfect. I’d recommend this game still even for the minute gripes I had, especially for the price of $29.99 USD for the base game and only $39.99 for the series music DLC and additional items.

We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie is just as magical as the games that came before it. The core mechanics remain just as charming and fun as before, while the more varied environments and requests give the concept some more depth. The Royal Reverie part may be disappointing, but it doesn't take away from the main experience that still does a great job of making everyone smile. Just like that first game, it's a classic and deserves a place in everyone's gaming library.

Bringing back We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is a great decision, as well as a very safe one. If the original version was already excellent, the visual and practical improvements are welcome, but there was certainly room to take more effective advantage of the content expansion. In addition, both this port and its predecessor show that it is high time for the royal family of Todo o Cosmos to return in an new title, taking advantage of the full potential of the current generation of consoles.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie makes Switch owners happy again, which, unlike other platforms, was lacking in other titles in the series. Its changes don't alter the practical gameplay precisely because there wasn't any need for it, and the truly new content, even if weak in quantity, compensates for the good level of challenge.

For me, We Love Katamari defined a large portion of my childhood. Playing this wacky game for hours with a sibling, ignoring all of the grittier story beats, and laughing hysterically at the ridiculous pompadours. But as an adult almost 20 years later, We Love Katamari REROLL has allowed me to relive that part of my younger years through a much more mature lens.

We Love Katamari has always been the fan favorite of the franchise, so having access to a modernized port, which retains everything that worked in the original (namely, almost everything), all while slightly improving its UI and giving players even more content than before, is something worth celebrating. Would I prefer an actual modern Katamari game, with new levels and content to enjoy? Sure, but I get that this franchise is a really hard sell. I would, however, absolutely recommend picking the remaster of We Love Katamari up. This kind of ultra-dumb but ultra-fun game is rarely seen nowadays.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is a real joy to play, with the zany gameplay and creative level design making for a real good time. The additional Royal Reverie content is a treat too, whilst the sheer amount of content players have to get through in the game will keep them busy for quite a while. And sure, the controls can be a little fiddly to get used to, but when you get the ball rolling (literally and figuratively), there’s PLENTY of fun to be had in We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie.

We Love Katamari is simply a better and more complex version of the concept introduced by the first game in the series. If you finished Katamari Damacy and wished to play more of it, don't hesitate here.

The last great Katamari game and in terms of everything but the soundtrack the better game of the two, even if the novelty barely stretches across two titles.

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.
