Whether you’re fulfilling a fantasy of being a driver on a famous team, racing your friends list with a custom team, or taking part of a Netflix-style docu-series; there’s lots of racing to be had. I can’t find anything about this package to be disappointed with, not even its price point, which feels warranted for once. F1 23 simplifies what didn’t work in prior years, continues a story mode that improves on the original, and expands on modes to make them more worthwhile than ever. Codemasters put on a clinic this year, and manages to top themselves year-over-year with F1 23 being the best entry they’ve made yet.

F1 23 is an improvement over last year's iteration, but not nearly as impactful of an upgrade. Here's hoping that the F1 series can continue to build on its successes and take a page out of Red Bull's recent Formula 1 dominance: incremental updates are more valuable than wholesale changes.

F1 23 is a fantastic racing game for Formula 1 fans, but it misses out on going the extra mile.

In what it proposes, F1 23 is virtually perfect. Keeping the graphical fidelity and the refinement of mechanics that worked well in the previous game, it brought back a narrative mode that, along with an overhaul in the interface and quality of life, only improves what was already amazing.

F1 23 is a title that looks good, improves in many aspects, but does not excel in others.

F1 23 is the pinnacle of the Formula One series to date. If ever there was a jumping-on point for new racing fans, this latest entry from Codemasters in the long-running licensed series is it. This F1 simulation manages to innovate the most prominent and constructive aspects of what came before. Using a controller as input never felt better in a racing sim with highly responsive and precise movements, and elements that used to be unnecessary, such as F1 Life in F1 22, have been upgraded into a multi-faceted progression system worth your time and effort. F1 23 is a remarkable package for fans of the sport.

Another cutting edge F1 simulator, with a great single-player story mode and a more accessible range of options and modes than ever before.

The excellent story, still-superlative career and loot-based F1 World make for a convincing and gigantic F1 experience.

But ultimately, F1 23 remains a great racing game, more accessible than ever for newcomers, more authentic than ever, more customizeable, and most notably featuring the comeback of the excellent Braking Point story mode. It is by all means an iterative upgrade with not many standout features, but the unified F1 World experience and various smart changes make F1 23 a worthy addition to F1 fans’ libraries.

EA Sports and Codemasters deliver another great outing oft he F1-series. F1 23 deliver tons of gameplay- thanks to the addition of Braking Point 2 and F1 World. Longtime-F1-players will be disappointed due to the lack of new features in the career-mode however.

EA SPORTS F1 23 continues the series' legacy of being the definitive F1 racing experience for gamers. With the updates made to braking, accelerating, and cornering, as well as Precision Drive technology for controller players, the game plays smoother than ever and can easily be enjoyed by players of all skill and interest levels. F1 23 continues its upward path to offer the best recreation of Formula 1 that, thanks to the return of Braking Point and the inclusion of other novelties, manages to leave better sensations than in 2022. A small step forward that is marred by the inclusion of unnecessary micropayments and premium currency.

F1 23 improves and expands almost everything from the previous iteration of the series, from the driving model to the physics of the single-seaters, even the multiple game modes are now – finally – abundant.

It’s completely normal, that the next installments of a sports series evolve slowly. Fortunately, sometimes there is a revolution – F1 23 is one such example. The game is well thought out, has some excellent changes, and has a terrific steering/traction model that makes it one of the best sports games ever.

Far be it to appear crotchety, but F1 23 is yet another yearly Formula One game that sports only incremental improvements, many of which are minor or otherwise injected with travail. Yes, it’s harsh to expect a yearly entry in a sports franchise to totally change the game, but F1 23 could’ve at least conjured up a feature that’d plant a seed for something extraordinary in future entries. But alas, it’s a mostly-safe F1 game riding on the successes of previous F1 installments. Braking Point 2.0 does offer some solid (if sometimes cringe-inducing) drama, the driving mechanics and presentation continue to impress, and generally, to an outlier, this is one fabulous F1 game. However, resting on your laurels only gets you so far, and F1 23 has failed to move the needle in regards to making F1 games even more compelling than they already are. By all means, pick up and relish another core EA and Codemasters F1 outing, but it’s time the series stopped playing it safe and gave us something audaciously new.

F1 23 is one of those games that manage to make you love even more a genre that you already liked a lot, or that you even did not like. Few titles can boast of it, and that shows that this work is a real game within the genre of driving and simulation.

F1 23 is pretty much a faultless racing experience. While its career mode may be lacking in innovations this year, the return of Braking Point and the new F1 World mode more than make up for it. Add in other improvements and features, and you have what is undoubtedly the best F1 game yet. If you’re an F1 fan this is an absolute must-buy as usual, but even racing game fans in general would be wise to add this to their collection. With its wealth of content, brilliant handling and sublime presentation, F1 23 is simply racing at its finest.
