SteamWorld Heist II builds on the solid foundations of the original to create a remarkable tactical adventure. The inclusion of jobs and a wide array of weapons offers a plethora of options for approaching each mission. Traversing the world is a joy, adding variety to the experience. While you may lose interest in the story, the addictive battle system will keep you hooked throughout.
A game that offers us a lot of fun and challenge, as well as a large number of hours to travel and explore this extensive world, full of pirates who turn out not to be the bad guys in the story and who just want everything to go back to normal. An experience not to be missed.

At its base level, SteamWorld Heist II is a supremely polished title. However, while the game's narrative hums along like a well-oiled machine in the first half, screws begin to come loose as the narrative expands exponentially in front of the player. While the core of the title is a shoo-in recommendation for any fan of the genre, the collapsing narrative structure in its second half is a genuine shame.
Like SteamWorld Heist, only more so, this is an eminently playable game—fun, well-paced, and finely tuned. It may be somewhat safe and at times predictable, but it avoids anything resembling a major misstep, making it an easy recommendation for fans of this genre of game.
SteamWorld Heist II is everything a good sequel should be. The story offers a unique adventure, with an emphasis on the personal problems of its protagonist, and at the same time substantially expands the universe created by Thunderful, so veterans and those who have not experienced a single title in the saga can enjoy this adventure without any problem. Once again, the charisma of each robot manages to stand out immediately, and this is a great look at this corner of the franchise.

SteamWorld Heist II has so many outstanding core elements that, even chasing new horizons at the expense of some balance, it's still a recommended sequel. While quirks might make it run out of steam at points, don't be surprised when it keeps you coming back for more. With a presentation polished as a pearl and some fun twists, this lengthy sequel should find a place in the Switch collections of those up for the challenge.
Despite SteamWorld Heist II's shortcomings, it's a fun and polished game. It does, however, suffer from repetition and lack of depth, so it feels like you've seen it all it has to offer after a few hours.
I have several small, indie game series, that have never let me down. SteamWorld is one of them. Be it meroidvania, be it a jRPG with cards – all my advenures with steambots were at least good. SteamWorld Heist 2 confirms that rule, and I simply have to recommend this game.

SteamWorld Heist II from developer Thunderful Development is one of the deeper gaming experiences I have run across in 2024. It contains a hefty amount of strategy in its gameplay while offering up a bigger and richer variety in its exploration and gameplay options. It can be restrictive at times with its gameplay progression but not enough to run the experience.
SteamWorld Heist II is an excellent turn-based strategy RPG, as long as you can put up with the lackluster naval combat.
As far as sequels go, SteamWorld Heist 2 expands on its predecessor's compelling gameplay in multiple ways while providing a compelling new setting. Some aspects need further tidying up, but it's still an enjoyable journey.
SteamWorld Heist II is a big step up from the first game. With different classes, weapons and skills to choose from, it introduces new strategic possibilities to the gameplay. The non-linear exploration of a large open world adds depth to the experience outside of the intense turn-based strategy.

SteamWorld Heist II is impressively epic and offers gamers a lot of bang for their buck. It's a bigger, better, and more varied strategy game than its predecessor. While the story is mostly fluff to support the deep combat systems and character building, most people won't notice because they'll be too focused on the heat of a battle which unfolds like a tense story in its own right.
Although not perfect in all its gameplay execution but excelling superbly in turn-based combat, SteamWorld Heist II is captivating and charismatic in visuals, soundtrack and world creation.
