In the end, it's not about Undisputed being a good game or not, because it has solid elements and defends itself, but it's what it's been for more than a decade and it's our only option. Undoubtedly, and despite its failures, it has bases that excite for what could be done in the future and with a larger budget. If you're a fan of boxing and you're fed up with the last game of 2013, give Undisputed a try, although keep in mind that it's not a AAA simulator and its edges are rough. If you don't have a problem with that, welcome back to the ring and let the bell ring.

Overall, although Undisputed had more potential to be even better and could have performed more successfully as a long-term experience with a more suitable career mode, such a game is truly a blessing for boxing fans. The detailed and deep gameplay provides a good path for improvement and skill development over time, and you can especially experience high excitement in the online mode of Undisputed. So, if you're a boxing fan, there won't be a better option available to you, and I recommend not missing it

Undisputed is a must-have in the library of all boxing lovers and those looking for an experience closer to realism in the ring. Let’s face it Undisputed doesn’t have any direct competition right now so it’s hard not to call it the best boxing game on the market. But hopefully what this ambitious project will do is spark some rival studios to create and make boxing games great again. As for Undisputed though, what we have is a fantastic stab at an engaging in-ring experience with plenty of content to dive into. Sure it isn’t perfect, but from a brand-spanking new studio and its first outing into the gaming world, this is a sterling effort into a genre no one has risked for a long time. If you’re after that fix of scrappy fights on the sofa in front of a screen with your mates or you want to dodge and weave your way to success on the online leaderboards, then Undisputed does it all. It does it well enough to bring replayability and longevity to your personal gameplay experience and if you love boxing then I assure you that you’ll find enjoyment here.

Undisputed is an unapologetically complex fighting game. With controls that will take some getting used to and AI that will proceed to beat you down until you get used to them, this isn't a game for everybody. But if you are looking for a boxing game and you've been starving for a good one for some time, Undisputed is at least worth giving a chance and seeing if it's the one for you. The performance on Steam Deck is a little disappointing. We have to run at the lowest graphical settings to get the game up to 40 FPS, which is the minimal "playable" frame rate. Even then, we get dips close to 30 FPS on some arenas without removing all of the crowd. Undisputed can be played on the Steam Deck, but it's far from the best way to play it.
Steel City Interactive have crafted exactly what they aimed to do. An authentic boxing experience that allows lovers of the sport to take to the ring and fight with their favourite boxers. With great graphics and fun gameplay Undisputed definitely is a welcome return to the ring for the genre. Will it be the start of a great franchise, or will it just be updated constantly with new boxers? Only time will tell I guess, hopefully the bell doesn’t ring too soon on this one.
The technical implementation is good: the camera is relatively close to the action. This means you see less of the surroundings, but more of the actors. Hits leave swelling and lacerations. In contrast to "EA Sports UFC 5", "Undisputed" keeps the blood factor a little lower: there are lacerations, but they are less directly captured and celebrated. Body blows are also clearly recognizable. Effective hits are shown just as clearly as knockdowns and knockouts.
