Undisputed, despite its obvious flaws, knows that investing in licenses from great boxers is a necessity for a game of this genre and uses this to its advantage, combining the use of images of timeless stars from the ring, a gameplay model that is as varied as possible for a boxing game, and visuals that live up to expectations.

Undisputed struggles with gameplay flaws and an overall lackluster feel after over a decade without boxing simulators. However, it offers notable features like a deep character editor and unique controls for each fighter, which will appeal to boxing fans, though it may fall short compared to classics like Fight Night Round 4 for others.

Undisputed is a strong attempt to bring boxing back to the spotlight in the gaming world after decades of hiatus. With a solid career mode, realistic graphics, and well-executed ring action, it’s likely the new benchmark in a genre long absent of such titles. For boxing fans missing these games, Undisputed does an excellent job of reviving the thrill of the sport. The year of early access has resulted in a commendable game, with only minor flaws that don’t detract from its solid and enjoyable gameplay.

Undisputed is an unapologetically complex fighting game. With controls that will take some getting used to and AI that will proceed to beat you down until you get used to them, this isn't a game for everybody. But if you are looking for a boxing game and you've been starving for a good one for some time, Undisputed is at least worth giving a chance and seeing if it's the one for you. The performance on Steam Deck is a little disappointing. We have to run at the lowest graphical settings to get the game up to 40 FPS, which is the minimal "playable" frame rate. Even then, we get dips close to 30 FPS on some arenas without removing all of the crowd. Undisputed can be played on the Steam Deck, but it's far from the best way to play it.

Steel City Interactive have crafted exactly what they aimed to do. An authentic boxing experience that allows lovers of the sport to take to the ring and fight with their favourite boxers. With great graphics and fun gameplay Undisputed definitely is a welcome return to the ring for the genre. Will it be the start of a great franchise, or will it just be updated constantly with new boxers? Only time will tell I guess, hopefully the bell doesn’t ring too soon on this one.

The technical implementation is good: the camera is relatively close to the action. This means you see less of the surroundings, but more of the actors. Hits leave swelling and lacerations. In contrast to "EA Sports UFC 5", "Undisputed" keeps the blood factor a little lower: there are lacerations, but they are less directly captured and celebrated. Body blows are also clearly recognizable. Effective hits are shown just as clearly as knockdowns and knockouts.

Undisputed is not here to fill the void with another release in the series, but to set new foundations for a simulator that doesn't forgive button smashing or offer cheap thrills.

Undisputed is a great boxing game, especially for fans of the sport. And it's even better because it doesn't have complex gameplay, making it very accessible to everyone.

Undisputed bursts onto the scene with a stiff right hook, and it’s definitely the best boxing game available today. Exciting gameplay and great visuals pair well with a solid career mode, but some customization and story upgrades would help. Adding a showcase to highlight moments in boxing history could also tip the scales and make this game truly great.

Recommended for its complete and strategic combat system, which offers depth for lovers of technical boxing. In addition, the wide variety of boxers and styles, coupled with the career mode with your own character makes it possible to enjoy this sport for hours. Without leaving behind, the impressive fidelity in the animations makes it stand out visually.

Though Undisputed isn't perfect by any means, Steel City Interactive put a lot of time and resources into creating a game that represents a realistic boxing experience. With its extensive roster and smooth gameplay, Undisputed is easy to recommend to every boxing fanatic. The developers saw a glaring hole in the market, and they filled it, and I'm sure we, boxing fans, are going to welcome it with open arms.

While Undisputed falls short in it’s presentation department and I know how much that means for some, I’m personally always a gameplay over graphics guy and once I started to understand how Undisputed plays, I didn’t want to stop playing it. I don’t want to knock it too hard for the presentation points since it’s easy to forget that this is a new studio trying their hand without a massive budget. It’s not trying to be better than Fight Night, rather it took the blueprint those games built and tries to do it’s own thing.

Undisputed may not pick up every boxing fan after all these years, but it definitely manages to revive the sport. A decent presentation, a lot of tactical depth and powerful fights are a lot of fun, but the game still doesn't feel completely rounded, as career mode and the character editor still need fine-tuning.

Undisputed fills the Fight Night void with solid, realistic gameplay, but lacks the flair and polish of its predecessor. While it has potential, the barebones career mode and framedrops on PS5 hold it back for now.
