Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind Reviews
Rita's Rewind is another failure for the Power Rangers brand. First, the TV show ends with a badly made, under-budget version of something that wasn't liked at all, then the figures have been licensed out to Playmate Toys (This might end up being a good thing with time), all the props and costumes have been sold off at auction, and now the video game that looked to revive the old-school Power Rangers feeling comes out and messed up. No wonder Hasbro is trying to offload everything to do with Power Rangers as they can't get anything right.
At the end of the day, Rita's Rewind wins me over on the nostalgia bomb of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers content. It's the complete audio-visual package of 90s aesthetic with a welcome evolution of the MMPR gameplay loop. Some of this gameplay loop may be frustrating and unforgiving, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun.
Gather your former "teenagers with attitude," 90s kids, because Rita's Rewind brings the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in their arcade glory.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is a nice nostalgic beat'em up, which manages to fully capture the atmosphere of the original show. It is not a game up to TMNT: Shredder's Revenge or Street of Rage 4, currently the benchmarks in the classic scrolling beat 'em up genre, but its variety of levels and simple and fun gameplay, especially thanks to the heterogeneity of enemies, make it very enjoyable, especially in company.

A great brawler brought low by baffling design decisions.
Perhaps I’m being a little too harsh, but I expect that if you cash in on my childhood, you should at least give me an experience that’s more fun than the game I played 20+ years ago.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is a title that will make fans of the original show smile. There is so much to love here; this is a must-play game!
A fun beat 'em up based on the Mighty Morphy Power Rangers franchise
The Rangers themselves are a bit hard to distinguish in terms of how they play, which makes subsequent playthroughs a bit less enticing, but there are stage objectives to complete for those so inclined. While the different stage types keep the action from getting stale, the Megazord segments are a bit of a letdown in terms of both gameplay and presentation. All in all, seeing another decades-old property brought back for another ride that plays well and hits those nostalgic notes is a welcome fourth quarter addition to the Switch's stable of brawlers.
Exciting, fun and energetic, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is a true celebration of the franchise and the beat 'em up format itself. The game combines a typical story of the morning super sentai shows of the 1990s, great gameplay and a killer aesthetic, even though it loses a little rhythm in the shooting passages and combat with the zords. It doesn't reinvent the genre, but it certainly exalts it like few productions in recent decades.

Simply put, I wish that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind was more fleshed out when it comes to its basic brawler gameplay. ⏪
For fans of the original show and retro gaming, Rita’s Rewind is a morphinominal trip down memory lane for fans of the original show and retro gaming, Shredder’s Revenge, is a worthy addition to the beat-up revival. Whether you’re reliving your childhood or discovering the Rangers for the first time, this game is a morphing good time.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind brings back the series with retro visuals, co-op gameplay, and fun Zord battles. Repetitive combat and similar characters limit the gameplay, but the story and presentation make it enjoyable for fans and newcomers.
But on the other hand, the beat ‘em up fan in me is disappointed with how the game turned out. The lack of character progression or variety really drags the game down, and doesn’t give you much reason to replay it – which is unfortunate considering it’s only two hours long and costs $10 more than its contemporaries.
An enjoyable throwback that accurately captures the spirit of the original series.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind will take you back to the glory days of '90s arcade beat 'em up titles with an original story fans will enjoy. But it does lack in offering a unique experience.
All and all, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a quite enjoyable experience, although it falls short of the perch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has made for itself.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind accomplishes its main mission of delivering a nostalgic, fun beat'em up that manages to honor the legacy of its inspirations and also the giant franchise it represents. Unfortunately, some technical missteps end up making the experience not one of the best on the Switch, but the promise of more updates tends to soon fix the aspects that are not so polished on its launch.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is great beat’em up. Combat is surprisingly deep, the gameplay variety is also a nice touch, albeit not perfect. While the game’s overall balancing feels all over the place between gameplay style, it doesn’t deter too much from the experience. Whether you’re a fan of the series or the genre, or both, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a must play.
