Fast Fusion is a well-made sequel which relies on the same formula that has proven itself across four generations of Nintendo consoles.

Futuristic Switch 2 exclusive racing game Fast Fusion is plenty of fun, but a couple of missteps keep it from reaching its full potential.

Significantly visually richer than the old game.

Fast Fusion may not have the most comprehensive collection of tracks, but it's easily the most accomplished entry in Shin'en Multimedia's series so far. The new jump ability adds a new layer of strategy to the gameplay, while experimenting with the fusion mechanic to find the perfect vehicle is a joy. The occasional grinding to save up money can be a momentary drag, but if you're after something a bit more 'hardcore' than Mario Kart World, Fast Fusion is a no-brainer, and an absolute must-buy.

The best F-Zero clone since Fast RMX, with some extremely impressive visuals for a Switch 2 launch game, although the structure and track design lack Nintendo’s finesse.

An outstanding speed game that, while not the most comprehensive in the world in terms of modes and options, offers a torrent of speed and adrenaline for very little money, and with interesting options like GameShare. Without a doubt, one of the first Switch 2 must-haves.

Fast Fusion should be an instant buy for new Nintendo Switch 2 owners, providing an incredible dose of futuristic racing and a great graphical showcase for the new console at a bargain price.

However, thanks to improved visuals and framerate that do real justice to the franchise’s futuristic inclinations, the new hyper jump ability, and the surprisingly flexible fusion mechanic, racing through stylish circuits at a fast pace has been given additional depth and dimensions.

If Fast Fusion featured online multiplayer, better image quality, and 6 or 7 more race tracks, it would enter the game-of-the-year conversation. Even without those things, it's yet another gem from Shin'en Multimedia. The Munich-based studio has once again punched above its weight, delivering a blisteringly fast, mechanically nimble futuristic racer with outstanding track design and excellent music.

Fast Fusion is without a doubt the perfect racing title for those looking for something as an alternative to Mario Kart World and the retro-fuelled F-Zero GX. It still doesn’t quite feel as feature-complete as Fast RMX yet, but Shin’en is doing a fantastic job of pumping out free extra content into this Nintendo Switch 2 futuristic, high-octane experience to keep fans coming back for more. For now, though, brace yourselves for stunning visuals, a pumping soundtrack, and some of the most edge-of-your-seat racing ever witnessed.

If you love anti-gravity racers, you must play Fast Fusion, it's as simple as that. While it has some aggressive catch-up which can be irksome at times, it's otherwise an audio-visual treat with moreish gameplay and a neat vehicle fusion mechanic.

Fast Fusion is an excellent arcade racer that could have been one of the best Switch 2 launch titles. Its fast, addictive gameplay deserves hundreds of hours, but the lack of online multiplayer holds it back. The '15 price helps, though many would gladly pay more for a full online experience.

While I have some minor critiques of the image scaling implementation, the technical package overall is excellent. The Switch 2 has certainly come out of the gate as a racing powerhouse but don't let Mario Kart World take all your attention. Fast Fusion is another great entry in this sci-fi racing series.

Fast Fusion is a fast-paced antigravity racer for Nintendo Switch 2 that goes beyond being a simple tech demo. It features a solid fusion system for customizing vehicles, multiple single-player modes, local multiplayer, and strong visual performance. While it lacks online matchmaking, it offers good value and replayability for early adopters of the console.

Fast Fusion doesn’t offer the same amount of content as its predecessor, and the absence of online multiplayer is disappointing. However, it remains a technological tour de force with exhilarating, anti-gravity racing that fills the void left by the absence of F-Zero and Wipeout on modern consoles. Combined with its super-low price point of only $22.50 AUD ($15 USD), Fast Fusion is one of the must-have Switch 2 games for anyone hungry for more racing goodness after clocking Mario Kart World.

Fast Fusion is a fast-paced and visually striking futuristic racing game that offers high-speed tracks, color-based boosts, and a new awesome jump mechanic. Developed by a small team, it offers great value for its low price, though the lack of online play and limited number of tracks slightly hold it back. Luckily future updates will remedy the latter aspect.
