Resident Evil: Requiem is nothing short of a love letter from Capcom to fans of one of their longest running franchises; taking all of the lessons learnt over the last 30 years to masterfully execute one of the best survival horror games on the market. Featuring a standout narrative, blood-curdling, survival horror gameplay and enough nostalgia to make even Albert Wesker cry, Resident Evil: Requiem is a must play for both fans of the franchise and horror fans in general.

Resident Evil Requiem proves that the series still knows how to generate real tension. It doesn't reinvent the formula, but it executes it with confidence, respect for its legacy, and an atmosphere that's hard to match. It's demanding, intense, and aware of its place within modern survival horror.

The next evolution of the Resident Evil series has officially arrived and it delivers on nearly every front. From the visceral, gory combat to the tense, compounding sense of dread that accompanies every darkened hallway, Requiem feels like a love letter to every Resident Evil fan. The dual-protagonist addition works to near perfection, with Grace thriving on tense, survival horror driven moments of terror, while Leon deploys the heavy firepower and one-liners to bring up the rear. Its environments and settings have a sense of familiarity to the horrors hiding just out of sight, while feeling like a brand new monster entirely. Though the story does falter towards the end, I feel confident in saying that Requiem is one of the strongest entries in the series as a whole. It does just enough to honor the past, while pushing full steam ahead towards the future.

Resident Evil Requiem is not a flawless title. The plot may not satisfy everyone, and the repeated shift between horror and action is undoubtedly divisive. However, in our opinion, Capcom's new instalment succeeds in something extremely difficult: bringing together the two opposing souls of the series. The game is excessive, melodramatic and sometimes even absurd, but precisely for this reason, it is deeply faithful to the spirit of Resident Evil.

Resident Evil Requiem perfectly blends elements from all the Resident Evil games, adding its own unique flavor with expansive level design, intense combat, and breathtaking visuals. It has everything you’d expect from a title celebrating the series’s 30th anniversary. What it accomplishes in its 11-hour campaign is nothing short of impressive, delivering a fitting and satisfying conclusion to the Raccoon City saga.

Resident Evil Requiem might not be my absolute favourite entry in the franchise, but it gets really damn close. It’s easily one of the most ambitious games in the series to date, somehow balancing two completely different gameplay styles while still delivering some of the most thrilling scares I’ve had in a horror game. Then it shifts gears into full-blown, over-the-top action, backed by a ridiculously compelling story.

While not revolutionary in any way, Resident Evil Requiem is an exciting ride that opens up the way for what's to come next for the franchise. (Review written in Portuguese for Entertainium Brasil)

From classic survival horror to brisk action, there is nothing about Resident Evil Requiem that feels out of place for the series. Bringing together three decades of history is no small task, doing so in a way that feels genuinely fun is even harder. Yet Resident Evil Requiem pulls off this seemingly reckless ambition with remarkable confidence.

Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best Resident Evil games ever and a clear Game of the Year contender. You get two epic campaigns with very different playstyles and a satisfying story that ties up some long-running threads while setting the stage for the next chapter. To top it off, the level of visual and audio polish is outstanding so don't be surprised if you snap dozens of photos along the journey.

After spending most of my life with this series, I approached Resident Evil Requiem with equal hesitation and open arms. It stumbles where certain mechanics fade out too quickly and a few systems could have gone further, but this is one nightmare I could not put down. The contrast between Leon S. Kennedy stepping into chaos with confidence and Grace Ashcroft walking into it unprepared gives the game its identity, balancing action and vulnerability in a way that feels true to the franchise’s history. It is not flawless, but its confident storytelling, tense survival design, and deeply replayable structure pulled me back in, reminding me why I keep returning to this series after all these years.

Resident Evil Requiem masterfully balances both souls of the series, while honoring a three-decade-old lore and laying the foundations for the future. Grace’s psychological terror and Leon’s action-driven intensity are expertly balanced and are coupled by great visuals and compelling storytelling. A must-play, both for the series' fans and anyone looking for an intense adventure.

What else is there to say about Resident Evil Requiem? To me, it’s one of the series’ most accomplished entries—perhaps the best since the revolution sparked by the fourth chapter. Grace and Leon’s journey blends the strongest elements of the franchise’s recent reinventions, delivering an unforgettable adventure driven by near‑perfect pacing. The first half shines for cohesion, while the second becomes more predictable yet consistently inventive in its gameplay ideas. Balancing new twists and fan service, Capcom’s latest confidently claims its place in the official timeline, offering a bold, modern horror experience that moves seamlessly between tension and action. It may only be early March, but Requiem already feels like a strong contender for Game of the Year—something far from guaranteed, thirty years after the first infection.

Resident Evil Requiem pulls off an impressive feat by blending modern gameplay mechanics with the grimy atmosphere of its origins. It delivers a particularly dense horror adventure, packed with nods and references, satisfying both fans of pure scares and adrenaline-fueled action junkies alike. The remaining question is whether the next installment will finally dare to clearly resolve the narrative arcs left hanging.

Resident Evil Requiem is a powerful return to the roots of survival horror, balancing vulnerability and action in two intelligently complementary campaigns. Grace represents raw fear and survival on the edge; Leon, experience and direct confrontation with horror. With a striking setting, constant tension, and respect for the franchise's legacy, the ninth chapter proves that there is still much to explore in this universe. Even with minor technical limitations on the Switch 2, the experience remains intense and memorable. If the goal was to deliver a requiem for horror, Capcom succeeded. And succeeded with honor.
