Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted's attempt to remaster the original comes with questionable choices, but it's still a good way to get re-acquainted with (or introduced to) one of the quirkiest puzzle-strategy games of the 2000s.
PopCap has brought together the defining elements of each port for the definitive Plants vs. Zombies experience. But it's hard to look past the discredit that Replanted does to the talented devs who brought us this game nearly two decades ago, and the many cut corners.
You can play with a controller, use the touch-screen in handheld mode, or use a Joy-Con 2 as a mouse. And it looks and runs great, making the Switch 2 version, arguably, the definitive version of the game.
Plants Vs. Zombies: Replanted adds just a few bells and whistles to the classic strategy game, but it's still just as fun as ever.
Including all previous content plus new ways to play, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted emerges as the best version of an already near-perfect game.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is a good time, just not a great remake. It captures the heart of the original perfectly, but doesn’t do enough to justify itself as the “ultimate edition.” If you’ve never played Plants vs. Zombies before, this is absolutely worth jumping into. For returning players, though, it’s more of a comfortable rerun than a revitalized revival.
The original Plants vs. Zombies that started it all is back, but this remaster could use a few more tweaks before it's ready for primetime.

Plants vs Zombies Replanted, from developer PopCap and publisher Electronic Arts, is still fun as hell to run through, and doubly so with co-op, mini-games, puzzles, and a new game+ built into it. It’s the complete package. My biggest issue is price point, as the main game from 2009 is a hard sell for me at $20.
Plants Vs. Zombies Replanted is a faithful recreation of the original game that brings every bit of its charm and fun gameplay loop to modern platforms. It's as entertaining, unique, and quirky as it was back in the day, and is definitely worth diving back into if you loved the original release. If you haven't, this one's a treat!
PopCap and EA have managed to remaster a absolute classic. Plants Vs Zombies: Replanted is nothing if a brilliant oove letter to a game that could see a resurgence of the franchise or maybe some other classics that EA have twiddling its thumbs while sitting the vault.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted isn't breaking the mould in gameplay options, and it isn't flawless, but I have still been glued to my controller since I got it.
For those who can't play the 2009 original, Plants vs Zombies: Replanted is a modern repackaging of one of the greatest tower defense games of all time. It is, however, a carbon copy in offerings of the 2009 Game of the Year edition.
Despite is issues, like inappropriate pricing, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is worth your time and experience for several reasons, such as offering a fun and rhythmic gameplay, beautiful and eye-catching visuals, and a very lovely atmosphere, especially if you haven't tried it before.

Remember when you first pitted plants and zombies against each other in the garden? Well, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is exactly that same game, with the expected and obvious graphical improvements of a remaster, and a few minor quality-of-life updates that do little to make the game anything more than a reheated version of something that was always amazing.

Plants vs Zombies Replanted is the same game you know and love, albeit with a shiny new veneer. Some games don't get old, and providing you're in the mood for something laid-back and casual, protecting your garden from zeds is as much fun as it's ever been.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is the definitive version of this classic strategy game. The gameplay is simple to understand but challenging, and the formula holds up as much today as it did when the game was first released 16 years ago. The presentation is absolutely clean all around, and the number of modes ensures that it'll take some time before you can truly explore everything on offer. Having an online option would've been nice, but considering how nothing really valuable was removed from this iteration, the lack of online play at launch is fine. Longtime fans of the series will immediately be happy with this game, while newcomers will be in for a very fun-filled ride.
