High on Life 2 Reviews
Just like its predecessor, High on Life 2 is an imperfect game that, despite its rough edges, manages to entertain and amuse from start to finish. The bounty hunter's escapades in this new guise as a fugitive are even crazier than those seen in the fight against the G3 cartel, the new Gatlians are hilarious, and there's no shortage of plot twists that, on more than one occasion, shake up the narrative. So, as long as you can overlook the sub-par technical aspects and a certain repetitiveness of the gameplay, Squanch Games' offering is highly recommended.

An extreme shooter with a narrative as crazy as it is well-thought-out, refusing to bow to the conventions of a genre that seems to push everything toward the dark side of seriousness . High on Life 2 continues to prove that you can make an FPS with humor and mix in other gameplay mechanics without fear of ridicule.

High on Life 2's serviceable gameplay and mostly decent comedic chops are overshadowed by severe technical issues.
Did you enjoy the unhinged toilety humour of the first High on Life? Then, chances are, you'll probably get a kick out of the same brand of madc...
High on Life 2, which is both helped along and hindered by the double-edged sword that is its new skateboarding mechanic, is a big, boisterous, and profoundly vulgar video game. Like the original, it’s another for the Adult Swim crowd, delivering the same boorish brand of humour as before. Luckily, I am that crowd and laughed plenty, while finding great joy in the game’s irrepressible need to move from gag to gag, and from moment-to-moment, while never being able to predict what it’d throw at me next.
High On Life 2 is a better-executed version of the first game. The skateboard does add some extra flavor to the gameplay, but it ultimately still is very similar to the core concept of the first game.
High on Life 2's biggest issue outside of technical issues, is that the new additions to the game feel so counter intuitive and work against what made the first game such a cult hit.
High On Life 2 plays like an extended, interactive Rick and Morty feature, packed with relentless gags and offbeat dark humor. It carries forward the first game's anything-for-shock-value attitude, while new additions like the skateboard system and more varied weapon designs give its FPS foundation greater solidity.

Overall it feels like High on Life 2 needed more time in the oven. There are other promising games launching soon like Crimson Desert or Mouse: PI for Hire that you can look into instead of this half baked sequel.
High On Life 2 improves on the first game in nearly every way, with world design, weapons, and dialogues at their best. The vibrant, humorous world is larger and more engaging, doubling the fun though performance still struggles slightly. Fans of the original shouldn't miss this sequel.

Unlike the weapons in High on Life 2, I'm not overly talkative. So I'll just say this: it's nothing to write home about.

Squanch Games delivers a sequel that, while not perfect and lacking the novelty factor of its predecessor, manages to stand out from the crowd of generic shooters with personality and boldness.

Three years after Roilad left Squanch Games, the studio is now showing what it's capable of. High on Life 2 offers a narrative shooter that mixes elements of all kinds to create a unique and highly satisfying product. The frenetic combat on skateboards, the hilarious dialogue, and the thousand crazy situations we'll experience make this sequel a great game that hooks you and works well for all kinds of shooter genre lovers. A 90s-style space opera that you'll love to have in your game library.

High On Life 2 presents such a constant barrage of ridiculous humour and memorable gameplay scenarios that it can be a great deal of fun. At the same time, its core gameplay is quite simple and not everyone will appreciate its world's cynical albeit colourful lens. 🔫
High on Life 2 feels like a sequel that understands what worked and tries to fix what didn’t - louder, bigger and mechanically stronger.
High On Life 2 takes all the exceptional qualities from the first game and expands on them. I adored my time with the 2o hours, or so I had with this sequel, and it’s such a unique and clever game. There aren’t many games out there that have you constantly chuckling and beaming from ear to ear consistently throughout. Squanch Games has a very talented team behind them, and what they have created again is a hilarious romp in another bizarre yet intriguing setting full of comedic moments, satisfying gameplay and just a bloody great time. If you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, I urge you to give it your time; it’s simply brilliant. New to the game? Not an issue, since it’s accessible even if you missed the original adventure. The story and mechanics will introduce themselves so you’re not left confused in any way. If you have the time, though, I would recommend giving High On Life a go; it isn’t a necessity, however. Fancy buying a copy of High On Life 2 instead of playing with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? Then you can purchase a copy of the game for Xbox Series X|S right HERE!
High On Life 2 sharpens numerous aspects of the series to much success, with great moment-to-moment gameplay and plenty of content to discover. Squanch Games nailed the balancing act between a serious plot and humorous adventures, finding a renewed purpose. However, the experience is undercut by inexcusable performance issues on PC that make it hard to fully recommend at this time.
The wacky and murderous feast gets even better when the universes last hero gains access to a skateboard, a host of new weapons, and an even more diverse playground to wreak havoc in, among other things. High on Life 2 is a sequel that improves virtually every aspect compared to its predecessor, including writing and the jokes. Hopefully the occasional technical issues can still be ironed out – luckily the updates that have been released so far show that things are heading in the right direction!

High On Life 2 is a tragic case of one massive step forward, and about three frames-per-second back. At this point, wait for a decent performance patch or revisit the previous game.
