Summing up this odyssey, we find ourselves faced with a work that thrives on constant playful and emotional contrasts, capable of eliciting laughter thanks to a satirical joke and then plunging the player into frustration due to disastrous technical aspects. Despite the developers' commendable desire to broaden the franchise's horizons by exploring mature themes such as the commodification of human beings by ruthless pharmaceutical corporations, the lack of adequate overall polish and the excessive verbosity of numerous passages end up heavily watering down the overall experience.

The sequel delivers another entertaining dose of action and bizarre humor. Neither of the mentioned aspects lacks ideas or creative design decisions. However, the new release came out about two months earlier than it realistically should have, which weakened it by lacking the polished state that could have presented it in the best possible light.

High on Life 2 is a sequel that expands the franchise's universe without truly transforming it. Its humor remains its biggest selling point, but that's about it.

High On Life 2 pulls you back into sci-fi bounty hunting with bigger alien hubs, a skateboard that replaces sprinting, and a pharma story that drags your family and chatty guns into something larger than last time. You spend your time swapping between Gatlians, riding rails through cities, and tackling bounties that mix short investigations, arena runs, races, odd jobs, and side routes that can lead to extra scenes or endings if you chase them down. Frequent reloads, gunfights that feel oddly flat when music fails to kick in, and hubs that are easy to get turned around in hold it back, but when everything behaves, the mix of talking weapons, colourful streets, and sharper pharma satire still works well if you want to dive back into this world.

High On Life 2 is the sequel to High On Life and its DLC. The game is bigger and more chaotic than its predecessor. While it largely offers more of the same, it also features new additions, including new weapons and a skateboard. While this game isn't for everyone, its humor will certainly appeal to the right audience.

High on Life 2 is bigger and louder than the first game, but it also feels more considered. Movement finally matters and feels tight while exploration feeds back into progression in meaningful ways. The humor is still relentless, but it’s paced better, and the world gives you more space to exist between jokes. It’s not flawless. I ran into performance hiccups on Xbox, and not every gag lands. Some fights still drift into visual overload. But I never felt bored, and I never felt like the game was coasting on novelty alone. If you enjoyed the first game’s energy, this gives you more of that but with better flow and stronger structure underneath. If you already hated the talking guns, you won’t last long here.

High on Life 2 comes recommended because it's a daring and entertaining game. This sequel expands on the madness of the original with new mechanics, bigger worlds, and humor that works better than ever. That said, it still isn't dubbed into Spanish, but if you're looking for frenetic action with exploration and unfiltered comedy, this is the game for you.

High on Life 2 is a welcomed improvement over the original in many aspects, refining the insane gameplay while delivering much better comedy, though technical issues in its current state make it a cautious sell.

High on Life 2 is a sequel that surpasses its predecessor by delivering dynamic combat through the Gatlirians and skateboarding mechanics. The title also features well-designed side activities, challenging boss battles, and an entertaining comedic narrative. However, despite ongoing updates, the experience is still marred by technical optimization issues and occasional bugs.

The new title from Squanch Games is extremely ambitious, attempting to expand the original formula in every aspect. However, it clashes with production issues, resulting in a rough and imperfect experience with a repetitive gameplay loop. What truly shines is the brilliant writing, absurd situations, and memorable characters. If you seek a flawless FPS, look elsewhere; but if you want a crazy, fun adventure, High on Life 2 remains a wonderfully flawed gem.

High on Life 2 might be bigger, but does that make it better? In a few ways, yes, it is fun because it has some new mechanics, like a skateboard to explore and lots of charming guns to use. Those come at the cost of clear technical mishaps, including slowdowns and glitches that often rear their ugly heads.

High on Life 2 is an improvement on the first and one hell of a time. The humor shows just how much in-tune the writers at Squanch game are with their players and that speaks volumes… making it a good time even through its complications.

High on Life 2 is unfortunately a game not worth recommending. For a price tag of a full $60, players should expect a level of polish, content, and quality that the game simply does not harbor for itself. Along with regressing in many areas and doubling down on an identity that doesn’t entirely work in 2026, one begs to question who High on Life as a franchise is exactly for.

High on Life 2 takes the hilarious, chaotic shooter idea of the first game and builds upon it in satisfying ways. You get a stronger story and a larger arsenal, plus the new skateboard traversal system makes even simple fights more entertaining. The whole thing is wrapped in a bold art style and has great voice acting, with a tone that balances filthy jokes with real heart. Even with a few technical hiccups, this stood out as one of the most memorable shooters I've played in a long time.

High on Life 2 is a rare type of sequel because it improves on the first game instead of just adding to it. It gets rid of unnecessary cynicism, makes the story stronger, and adds important gameplay changes while keeping the series’ signature silly humor. It’s not perfect because of some technical problems and sometimes weak combat, but the creative missions, characters, and world design make it stand out in the world of shooters today. More than anything else, High on Life 2 feels like a company finding its voice again and proving who it is.

High On Life 2 is bigger yet smaller. It’s both bold and more reserved in how it dishes out gameplay mechanics and story beats. I loved my 15 hours with it

High on Life 2 takes everything we loved about the first game and cranks it up to 11. Weirder, bolder, and just a better game overall. Skateboarding isn’t just a gimmick but a fun way to traverse around the game’s wacky universe. Though it falls a bit in the humor, accessibility, and some technical hiccups, the game is just enjoyable from start to finish. It's no surprise that High on Life 2 won Lords of Gaming’s most anticipated game of 2026.

High On Life 2 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but that's perfectly fine. It’s an upgrade on its predecessor and a game that feels like it finally has an identity of its own beyond 'that Rick and Morty game'. Admittedly, it's still a game we would label rough around the edges, but simply put. If you liked the first game, then you're in for a treat with this sequel.
