Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is a solid and surprisingly timely collection, focusing entirely on gameplay that's still compelling today. It doesn't offer much extra content and doesn't really try to modernize the formula, but it perfectly preserves what made the trilogy special.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is a great compilation of games that deserve to be remembered by fans of the classic Capcom character. Featuring a good evolution of the Battle Network gameplay and delivering some of the best narratives in the series, there's a lot to enjoy here.

The Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is an excellent package featuring 7 fun games that will eat up many hours of your time. Capcom is very respectful to the source material, and the updates they made, like better visuals and remixed soundtrack are tasteful. Plus, you can always revert to the original versions, if you want. The games have a fun story overall, but there are some pacing moments and weaker villains at times.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is an excellent package and a fantastic way to play what is probably the most overlooked of the various Mega Man sub-franchises. The games have their rough spots, but they're still darn fun action-RPGs that continue the legacy of the Battle Network games. If you enjoyed those games and want more or if you think the concept looks enjoyable, there's no better way to play the Star Force games than this collection.

For long-time fans of the franchise, this is an easy recommendation. For newcomers, it’s perhaps best approached with measured expectations and a bit of patience. Either way, Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection stands as a worthwhile addition to the Nintendo Switch library and a fitting second life for a trilogy that never got the attention it deserved.

Adds a lot to improve the experience for these 20-year-old games, and it helps that the games themselves really hold up.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection bundles up a whole series of action-RPGs and adds some valuable extras and enhancements. But while existing fans and those who love the Battle Network series will likely lap it up, newcomers might find it all a little too dated.

While not bad games, the series is more continuation than evolution of the previous series, especially in presentation, story, and age range. Star Force 3 was also the direct predecessor to the somewhat ongoing Mega Man drought. While the perfect cure for a shonen anime friendship speech craving, Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection feels a bit interchangeable with what came before.

A good collection of a charming if not exciting series. Cute graphics and a deep battle system are its strengths, but a bland story and series events dull its edge.

Three solid games that, while they didn't exactly revolutionize the genre back in the day, still managed to carve out a spot for themselves among RPG and character enthusiasts. That said, Capcom-just as it did with the Battle Network Collection-has done the bare minimum, and sometimes, as with the language options, not even that.

A rich and loving collection, weighed down by the stubborn preservation of tedious and anachronistic progression mechanics.

I had a very good time revisiting the DS classics in Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection and it's such a lovely compilation that it's sure to charm you with its excellent cast of characters, oodles of extras, and welcoming assortment of settings. 🌐

Hopefully, with the passage of time, the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection gives people a new perspective of their own. And who knows, maybe this is the fresh reset the series needed to finally justify some new games. Because after replaying these myself, I was quickly reminded of just how much fun they can be once you adjust to what they are doing.

A direct, generous compilation for those who missed this RPG branch of Mega Man, packed with content and useful tweaks, but weakened by a language omission that is hard to understand.

We now have nearly all the major mainline games and all the major spin-off titles from the Mega Man saga. As usual, Capcom has done a great job with this collection and has given the titles a facelift wherever possible. Numerous comfort settings for these rather dated titles are a wonderful feature of the Legacy Collection. You have a total of 7 titles to choose from, and if you stick with it, you’ll be rewarded, because Mega Man Star Force 3 was never previously released here in Europe and is also the most creative of the three. For fans of the Mega Man series and especially the Battle Network games, this collection comes highly recommended. For everyone else, you might want to check out the Battle Network Legacy Collection first to see if the RPG format for Mega Man works for you. On the other hand, we get 40–60 hours of gameplay for €39.99, which is also a very attractive offer. Maybe we’ll get a Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection soon, so we can have all the Mega Man games in one place.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is undoubtedly the definitive version of three games that, for far too long, have been unfairly overlooked by the fanbase. This collection finally restores the series to the place of esteem it deserves, thanks to a compilation crafted with evident passion and a great deal of care. We were truly amazed by Capcom’s excellent work, which not only succeeded in the far-from-simple task of adapting and modernizing titles originally released on the Nintendo DS, but also enriched the experience with a significant amount of content, improvements, and customization options that make this edition well worth it even for those who already know the games inside out.

Not every part of the experience is perfect. Some pacing issues remain, particularly in the early sections of the first game. Exploration can occasionally feel repetitive, and the limitations of the combat grid may not appeal to everyone. But these are minor drawbacks in an otherwise strong package. In the end, this collection succeeds because it understands what made Star Force unique. It embraces its character-driven story, its layered world design, and its focused combat system while enhancing them for a modern audience. For longtime fans, it is a long-overdue celebration. For newcomers, it is an opportunity to experience a series that finally feels complete.
